Publix constantly delivers in service and products. They have some of the best products and the prices are competitive. I can always count on finding my fav items and much , much more! This particular location offered the same as all other locations. I received great service and I was quickly checked out once I got to the register. Nothing compares to consistency and great service- it's PRICELESS!! I found this location to be crowded during my visit . It's located within a strip mall setting. Used to be a friendly store with very helpful employees and managers! Lately this has changed, with a lax attitude. As a disabled senior, I have had to load my own cart as four or so store employees are just not busy. And no one ever takes my full cart to my car anymore. I have spent more buying cosmetics and meds there, but I am considering just going to Walmart or Target for everything! I hate to leave my store where I have shopped for almost twenty years! read more

Kind of the place that sets the bar for any of your grocery shopping needs. All locations look and feel clean, and this one is no different. Shelves are well stocked and everything is very neatly organized. Produce are always fresh and meat always looks good. Full service bakery for a quick easy dinner, or a last minute dessert (They make really good cakes). Prices are a bit on the high side, but shop the sales and you'll do just fine here. When I walked in, I was warmly greeted. When I walked to the produce area, the employee greeted me and offered assistance with anything I needed. When I was perusing the variety of single waster bottles, a manager spoke to me. Of course, the cashier spoke to me. This is a very friendly Publix based on my midday visit on yesterday. Generally, I have good experiences at Publix so I'm not in the least bit surprised that this one lived up to my expectation. When I'm in this area, I'd definitely drop by again. read more

i got food poisoning! now this happened like a week ago but it's the principle. my experience would have overall been a 10/10 if i had NOT ate their hot honey wrap. i don't know how old or what was wrong with that wrap, but i wish i never ate it. It's just your regular Publix. Nice Deli, bakery employees always seem irritated particularly this one man. Cashiers are mostly pleasant. Bogos seem to rarely be available here. Could be that they go so fast they run out and can't restock. They will look in the back but it will always be a no. You can get rain checks on bogos at customer service. I catered my sister's baby shower here it was pleasant but I did have to wait 20 mins to pick my order up even though I ordered 1 month in advance and called to remind them. Very disappointed with my last experience at Publix. I go to this publix very often because it is convenient. I usually get a 15 or 20 piece wings with buffalo sauce in a bowl. Well this time when I asked for a bowl they told me I couldn't have one I would have to get a 50 piece wing in order to get the sauce which threw me off guard because I always receive a large bowl when I get my wings. Willing to pay the bowl they still told me I couldn't get it and I would have to result in getting a small sauce cup they have which isn't enough for a 20 piece. Highly disappointed read more

When a person buys a cake, especially one with personalization the intent to have a celebration or get some message across to a group of people or someone special. The intent of purchasing the cake is to eat it, but to also show someone you care about that you cared about them enough to get them a personalized cake. Okay...so my point is when I order a cake and spell a name out for you, and verify what you write down and you still misspell the name and then attempt to fix it with less than subpar work, it's not acceptable publix bakery on Montgomery Hwy (Hoover side). read more

Publix generally seems to be a great choice for grocery shopping. It's super clean, well lit, the prices are very competitive, and the employees are usually pretty friendly. Their chicken wings are what I really want to rave about. I can easily say they are my favorite wings around. I usually prefer the breaded wings with sauce on the side, but the naked ones are great as well. Plus, they're huge. You get a 20 piece for under $9. As someone who would normally eat 10-12 wings at a sports bar, I can usually only take down 6-8 of these. You can easily feed 3 or 4 people with one box. Why not 5 stars? They often get my order wrong and it's rarely ready on time. This is a small price to pay for the deliciousness. Oddly enough, the one time the order was right and they were ready at the right time, the girl behind the counter was not very friendly. read more

I mostly use Publix for their pharmacy. Everyone is always very nice, although I wish they had a better online prescription management tool. Publix has always been a little too pricey for me to do all of my grocery shopping there, but I tend to grab a few things when I'm there picking up a prescription. The store is always clean and well-organized. I think the best thing about Publix is their bakery! I order cakes online for birthdays at work, family events and erm...personal consumption :)...all of the time. Absolutely delicious and reasonably priced. As far as Publix goes this location is pretty good. Keep in mind, I'm comparing this location to the ones in the Birmingham area and in comparison it's just not as good. The store and parking lot are clean and tidy but the employees aren't all that friendly. I did come rather early one weekday morning, as soon as they opened but I feel that it isn't an excuse to not greet a patron. This publix is always stocked well. Super clean and really well laid out. The staff is so friendly and they always have a good selection of gluten free items as well as lactose free creamer. The sales make it worth it but general prices are typically higher than most grocery stores. Be forewarned, the Hoover store at Hoover Commons and the Vestavia store, both on Montgomery Hwy 31, are not in compliance with the Jefferson County ordinance requiring that ALL shoppers wear face masks. I had 3 people go into the Hoover store in front of me this past Saturday morning that were not wearing a mask. They were not detained or asked to leave and continued on with their shopping. I asked the two people at the customer service desk why they were non compliant with the ordinance and they just shook their heads and mumbled something I could not understand. So I called the Vestavia store to ask if they were requiring everybody to wear a mask and the person I talked to seemed confused and just said no, that they were not allowed to confront anyone. Both stores have been reported to the Jefferson County Health Department on their Covid hotline. If you see another public store that is non compliant and not requiring masks, you can contact the health department at 205-930-1230 or 205-930-1260. Apparently Publix is much more concerned with making a buck and is very much unconcerned with protecting their customers from the Covid virus. read more

I ordered decorated brownie bites for a shower, and they were lovely and tasted great. The bakery staff was so helpful and friendly. Everyone thought the brownie bites were a nice change from the usual treats. All the bakery items I buy from Publix are yummy, fresh and beautifully decorated. read more
