Pueblo is slowly taking over my entire closet and home. I have mad respect for a business who will do so many discount days on literally the entire store. No gatekeeping here. It is my favorite thrift store. It has such a great mix of curated items from Target brand to legit vintage animal hide pieces. Sometimes I get so sweaty in the fitting rooms I feel like I might pass away but I think that's just inevitable to the building. No AC. At least they have a ton of mirrors and good lighting! read more

The highlight of any trip down to SoCal is undoubtedly seeing my relatives and friends, but Change Of A Dress is a very, very close second. Diana has done a truly wonderful job of carefully curating and decorating this store. She carries a wide variety of styles, some current and some vintage, and sizes at really reasonable prices. I happened to stop in during their fall sale and everything was 25% off with red starred items being a whopping 50% off. I snapped up a lovely off-white, floor-length, silk skirt, fake leather BCBG crop top, and a teal dress for around $50, a real steal! The shopping experience is an absolute dream, too. There is something to look at wherever you turn your head, but it's not overwhelming or daunting. Skip the Bubblegum Alley and head straight here for an hour or so and take your time going through the jewelry, housewares, shoes and clothing. The clothing is systematically arranged by color, category of clothing and size so it's easy to find things. Again, do yourself a favor and give yourself time to just enjoy the shopping experience here. The fitting rooms are a delight as well. I love that they are chock full of beautifully ornate mirrors of various shapes and sizes and the lighting isn't the harsh fluorescent lighting of major department stores. Diana has an eye for rich, vibrant colors and patterns and each dressing room is a testament to this. All in all, I'm already planning my next trip down to SoCal and this place is definitely on my must-visit list. read more

Curated is exactly right! Thrift because everything is gently used. Dianna has the most unique way of displaying the gems in the shop. You can find everything here from plants to linens from jeans to rhinestone earrings. Some of my favorite pieces are from here. She's kind and has a great eye for unique finds. I was so sad after learning of Diana's store in SLO - Change of a Dress, closing. It was a store worth driving 30 miles to see what cool "re-new'd" things Diana was selling, displayed so perfectly! BUT - she opened a new store named "PUEBLO" in Atascadero. I made the 56 mile trek to check it out. It was a drive worth taking, her style is so much fun! Something for everyone in there! This place has really beautiful and cute stuff, and is curated so nicely, but it should not be called a thrift store. The prices are really high, even for a curated thrift store. As a thrifter and picker myself who frequents estate and garage sales, and lives in this area, I know what the wholesale price probably was, and even doubled for retail price, the prices were still really high, and though I've been twice, I haven't actually bought anything. Also, the worker or owner who was there a little passive aggressive and did not make me feel welcome. But, the content of the store is amazing and beautiful. I just think it should not classify itself as a thrift store. read more

I stopped by Change of a dress yesterday and couldn't leave the store. There were too many one of a kind treasures to choose from. The quality of the clothes and home goods was unparalleled for any consignment store- and I've been to many! It had wearable styles that were not stuffy. This shopper is incredible at sourcing clothes that I can't wait to wear! I found two pairs of beautiful boots, artsy vests, cardigans, layering shirts, stand alone shirts, fingerless gloves.... I would have shopped more but I already hit my budget. What I loved most was the welcoming energy of this kind business owner. She really made the experience fun and inviting. I probably could have spent two full hours hunting through the racks! I love the easy organization of the boutique: by color!! And the merchandising and decor was so adorable! My wife and I accidented (my word, you're welcome world) upon this place and we're sucked in by the swirly vortex of entropy that is 1940's meets retro, meets vintage, oh my god I just said the same thing thrice! Back to the store. If you haven't met Diane, the your life is incomplete. She is either the crazy, fun, girl you want at every party, but have the spare bedroom ready..... Or a shrewd business woman who knows how to work her trade. I tend to think that she is the former and so good at it that she has a thriving business. Came upon this store by accident yesterday, and I have to say it was the happiest accident on a long time! The store is full of beautiful, high quality merchandise with unbelievable prices. The merchandising makes you feel as though you're in a high end boutique. Every item in there feels special and hand selected. After narrowing down my purchases to a few things, I was over the moon when the incredibly generous shop owner told us everything was an additional 50% off! What a wonderful shop. It's nice to find a consignment shop in SLO that realizes that all women don't wear a 0-10. Wow, a clothing store owner who realizes an average woman wears a 12-14, has curves and isn't 21. She found several dresses for me to try on but I couldn't find what I was looking for. The owner offered other possible locations that I might find what I needed. What a pleasant experience.
