What came out was a gray thin, long oblong shaped piece of meat. and VERY well done - the knife could not cut it. I had to send it back and the waitress told me that she told him rare. Told her that would have gone back as well as I don't eat raw meat. The next piece of meat was mulitlated with a ton of slices and gray as well, very tough and still over cooked. They tried to tell me it was the marinade that made it look that way. What??!! I marinade my steaks all the time and they never look gray or can't be cut with a STEAK KNIFE!! So i said I will just eat the baked potato. My sister complained about the frozen onion rings being over cooked - nothing was done. My husbands pizza was black! But he was too nice to complain. Sooooo here comes the bill and the manager refused to take the steak off! I said well send him over here and we can have a talk. He would not come to the table and said just charge her for the overdone baked potato, which was fine as I ate most of it. but $8.00 for it! or and $8.00 for soggy "fresh vegetables". I would be ashamed of my manager if they refused to hear a customers complaints or make it right! Jon Taffer would be disappointed in what this place turned into since the makeover. Drinks - Good and strong Service - eh. bartender was also the waitress Atomsphere - I am sure it is a good place to go on a weekend to hear a band - wish it was non smoking though. Food- stick with things like wings and fries - has to be better than all the food we ordered.

After dining here, it's pretty obvious that alot of their food items are pre-cooked. It doesn't mean they're bad, or not fresh, it just means they like to prep to ensure their customers receive food in a timely manner. It is a little ironic though since they have a sign inside the dining room stating "Good food ain't fast and fast food aint good!". They do have a small prep area / kitchen to make meals, but it has short ceilings, limited space, and no vent hoods for exhausting steam/smoke. There are 2 microwaves in the kitchen area, if that gives you any idea. Not sure they even have an oven in their kitchen. The dining area is a beachy, tropical theme to fit the name "The Big Kahuna". Their menu is pretty simple, 2 pages with burgers and salads being their specialty. However, they have a weekly steam table special which consists of a meat, 2 sides and a roll for about $10. They also serve bbq, and some Mexican food and even chicken fried steak. Since they seem to specialize in burgers, I ordered a burger. Just traditional burgers here, no fancy toppings. The handformed patty is about 1/3 lb, and comes standard with mayo, lettuce and tomato, served on a Hawaiian sweet bun. I ordered their highly touted fresh cut French fries, which are a la carte and good. Portion size of the fries was a little on the small size. Overall I enjoyed this meal since the taste of the burger and fries were actually good. They didn't ask how you want your burger cooked though, which makes sense since it's a pre cooked patty. How do I know this? Because the burger came out less than 5 mins after ordering from the waitress, and was cooked at least medium well...faster than even some fast food restaurants I've visited lately! They do not have cheddar cheese, just some shredded American cheese blend, so no cheese for me. I did add bacon to my burger, and they initially forgot to add it after bringing the plate to my table. Luckily they remembered though, asked for the plate back, and placed it on the burger. Another complaint is that the bacon is crumbles, not strips. They apparently don't cook the bacon fresh and seemingly use a pre-packaged, pre-cooked product which was pretty salty. Bacon strips are preferred on burgers since they leave less mess on a plate at the end of the meal. I also ordered a sweet tea and a dessert before I left. On my tea refill, the waitress gave me unsweetened tea, which was strange. There were 3 bundt cakes on a cart beside the steam table with slices of vanilla, red velvet and chocolate. I chose the red velvet flavor and it was okay, but I've had better. Maybe the strangest part of the meal is that they give you a spoon to eat your cake!! In summary, the best part of the experience were the prices. The service, food quality, and taste /preparation of some menu items were a little questionable. This might be the reasoning behind the prices....not sure. Some items are just meant to be "cooked to order", and some you can get away with pre-made such as items on a steam table for faster service. I feel burgers should always be cooked to order at a sit down restaurant!

We arrived for brunch fare and were told that there was only one item available from their menu. No egg dishes, no biscuits and gravy & no french toast. It was jarring as we visited solely based on their social media post that morning offering brunch. Each table around us was overheard saying nearly the exact same phrase "how do they not have eggs/more breakfast options for brunch?" This spot could make a KILLING with boosting that (think toasted yolk style), some fresh (non fried/more healthy) options for dinner too, etc. Many online seem to request what is missing from the local market on socials or what they'd like to see offered, and it all seems to be ignored entirely. I'm concerned a super cute spot with super nice people employed there will be closed. Maybe evenings are just packed here and that's their goal clientele or we came at a really bad day/time? We were just excited to have brunch options - Sunday was a pleasant surprise! The view is good and the space is nice & clean. It will be so nice to sit on the patio in cooler weather I'd imagine! The staff were very very friendly! Mimosas for those that partake and to utilize your bar area at that hour and some light cafe music in the background maybe? It's just that many of us cannot eat fried foods/pastas/bread heavy dishes for every meal - there's a ton of that saturating the market already. People are driving 30-60 min away, when they'd rather keep their business local. This would be our go to spot for all things if there was just more variety in foods and sides (XL baked potatoes that are standalone meals with options - think Jason's deli, grilled asparagus, red potatoes, steamed broccoli/medley, egg scramble mix bowls or omelettes, grilled main/side items, baked potato soup, fresh bruschetta, etc). We will keep an eye on socials to see if there are any new offerings as we would *love to return and become regulars if so and stay local! You have a gem with the location and staff!

An hour and a half after ordering 5 people in our group still did not have their food. When we asked to see the manager he came out and we started telling him our issues and he turned and walked away without comment. Quality of food was very poor. Waited so long for our check after requesting it that we finally just put cash on the table and walked out. Table next to us waited so long that they asked for food to go so they could leave. There were only three tables with guest. I would recommend that you skip this restaurant and find another.
