I have driven past this place for years always in too big of a hurry to stop. Had talked to many people over the years that had nothing but good things to say about it. The wife and I finally had time to make a point to stop and were not disappointed. We enjoyed the small town atmosphere and hospitality. My sweet tea was some of the best I have had. Ordered onion rings which was really good. Wife ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries. I ordered the large chicken fried steak with okra and mashed potatoes. We each ate one of the large onion rings. Then our meals came out which we both thought were really good. No way we could finish our meals so had to get to go boxes. As a foodie this place is so good and the staff is so friendly and great! I love this sandwich I got from there I forgot the name but it is like ham, cheese and I think powdered sugar on top and you eat it with raspberry jam when I tell you this was so good come and try it you'll like it and heads up the bathroom is super clean! read more

The food and service here are truly great, if you can look past the condition of the building. The place itself is pretty shabby and could definitely use some updates. When it rains, there's a noticeable musty/moldy smell, and the floors are uneven in spots, which makes the space feel a little run down. That being said, the food is SO good. Everything we've tried has been flavorful, fresh, and clearly made with care. The portions are generous, especially for the price, which makes it an even better value. The staff is friendly and attentive, and they really make the experience enjoyable. Service was bad, though they apologized. Ambiance is you are sitting in a porch add on with plywood floors that dip, creak and sound as if they are cracking under your feet. The entire porch add on tilts quite a bit. Seems dangerous to me. Food was expensive, took 45 minutes to get our meal, and yes, portions were large. That is the best thing about the place. Not clean,bathrooms were pretty gross. Do NOT recommend eating here. read more

Came here today for the first time with my family. Fried catfish special was absolutely amazing! Probably the best I have ever had besides my mom's! We visited a few days ago and usually the hamburgers are amazing, but not this time. My burger was very dry and not seasoned at all. So disappointing. I make a better burger at home. I have been looking forward to trying their chicken and dumplings for months. We finally made the drive there for lunch. They did not disappoint. The chicken and dumplings were delicious. I had to order some chicken w d dumplings to go so I could share with my daughter and son. My husband had the Caribbean chicken salad. He said it was delicious. The salad was so large it was served on a platter. In addition he ordered the fried pickles, he said they were the best he has ever had. I don't like pickles but I had to sample one. I have to admit they were very good that I had a few more. The batter was very light and crispy. They weren't drowning in oil We look forward to our next visit. Went here right when they opened (11am) and was greeted with a smile and seated immediately! Our server was friendly and helpful and the place has a nice small town homey feel and atmosphere. The food was delicious- everything is scratch made, so it may take a little longer, but it's 100% worth it! The green beans especially were outstanding! I got the Hawaiian Chicken with green beans and mashed potatoes w/ brown gravy. Absolutely amazing . The Hawaiian chicken was juicy and flavorful and had just a tinge of sour flavor (in the sauce) to it, which married perfectly with the Swiss cheese and pineapple. My husband had the pork tenderloin with green beans and a salad and it came with three large thick slices of meat, good cuts overall. I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich for my toddler (who is extremely picky) and she ate half of it and I saw her sneaking bites of it when I wasn't looking, so I know it was good! Surprise surprise! This isn't some frozen bar food serving place. The local know good homemade food and you can tell that from the parking lot being full of cars. We were VERY IMPRESSED! We have eaten at this restaurant for years but today was the last time we will. We usually do take out orders and up until a few months ago all was well. The last 4 orders we have placed have had food missing. We gave them one more chance today and as with the last orders food was missing. As a first time visitor, I was excited to visit this place. After my parents moved to Cleveland 2 years ago, I would see this restaurant every time I drove by every weekend. Finally stopped by yesterday and it was worth the wait. You're greeted by great staff with under 5 minute wait time. The restaurant feels homey and rustic. The fried pickles are lightly crisped and the ranch is very delicious. Homemade flavor for both. The chicken friend chicken is delicious, not burnt and just the right amount of crispyness. The mashed potatoes and broccoli paired up greatly and the gravy was soupy but not runny. Perfect for the Texas toast to be dipped in. For dad had the burger! As a fan of spicyness, he was very content with the spicy fried jalapeños and the habanero sauce drizzle. The drinks were perfect as well. The Arnold Palmer was very well ratioed and the sweet tea was very well balanced. It was very delicious overall and will definitely be back again. Lastly, the price was very well placed!!
