We had an amazing time at Westside Adventures in Arecibo. Our group of 22 varied in ages of 13- 54. This was the most fun we've had in all the years we have been coming to Puerto Rico . The tour guides - Warren ,Alberto,Joshua,Kevin, Jaime &Henry made sure our safety was #1 priority. They helped us through the hike which was one hour or so, through zipline ( it's actually not scary,it was very fun), they 10ft jump into the water in caves ( I'm so scared of heights and I jumped and survived ), they tube rafting which was amazing and being inside the caves rafting- something i have wanted to do for years and everyone was mesmerized by the beauty of it all and the experience. I would suggest to not wear watershed as the hike is very slippery when ground is wet. Also, your shoes need good grip and will 100% get muddy or ruined . Also good shoes prorext your feet from all the trecking through the water and rocks you will have to climb over. The climb and descent is very exhausting and rigorous if you've never hiked,so stay hydrated. Bring snacks for after and 100% buy a waterproof phone cover as your phone will get wet. You can hose off after the tour is over at their location . Oh, and the guides do carry water and snacks for sale too in case u forget to bring. Overall, this has truly been a great group adventure and we would love to make it a yearly tradition. Also make sure to tip your guides. read more

Listen up!!!!!!!! We had a Blast with Westside Adventures. Alberto is a beast of a tour guide I'll be honest though, you need to be in some kind of physical shape for this tour. Afterwards it had me thinking damn I need to start going to the gym Alberto and his crew were Awesome. Very informative and helpful. To make a long story short, the forest, caves and rivers were all beautiful. My legs and shoes were covered in mud. Hope You don't mind getting a little dirty and aren't afraid of heights! Bring a waterproof phone case Bring extra clothes to change into once you finish. Buy some cheap sneakers from Walmart to throw away afterwards. Bring water and snacks since they don't provide any. I don't typically write many reviews but I felt the need to write one for this. First and foremost, it was a great experience. I was leading a high school student group and they had a blast even though it was tough at times. So it can be a great activity for teenagers and adults, but probably not for kids younger than middle school. Before you arrive, bring snacks to eat, nothing that requires utensils. Wear old or junky athletic shoes that have some traction but you don't mind messing up. You can even buy some cheap shoes at Walmart but definitely do not bring Crocs or slides. When you arrive, maps will take you to a small dirt parking lot. Don't worry, that actually is the meeting spot. Keep in mind that there is not bathroom at the meet up spot, and there is no bathroom throughout the rest of the experience so make sure you plan accordingly. They will give you a backpack that you'll wear on the trails so you can put your snacks, drinks, and whatever else you want in there. Just keep in mind that it is not a large backpack and you're going to have to go downhill with it through slippery slopes. The guides are humorous and if you ask questions of them about your upcoming experience, you will get some truths and some half lies. So here it is, you will be walking for several hours downhill and then uphill on the way back. It is the rainforest so it will be muddy, and for a fair amount of people, you'll probably slip and fall at some point. The trails are steep so you need to be in decent shape to work through the trail and push through the declines and inclines. The zipline is required so if you have any reservation to it, you don't really have a choice. The zipline is not very long or very fast so if it is your first time, this is a good one to do. But to get to the river and the caves, you have to go on it. When you get down to the river, you will need to carry your tube and walk through the riverbed. There will be rocks and uneven ground to get through, so once again, good shoes are necessary. The water at its deepest will only get to mid-thigh for the average person. Once you get to the starting cave, everyone will need to jump to begin. The cave jump is 8-10 ft into the water and it's pretty awesome. If someone absolutely cannot make the jump, there is a shorter jump outside of the cave at around 4-5 ft but everyone has to jump to get to the river. So mentally prepare yourself for that. Once the river tubing portion is done, you'll have to hike all the way back up. It's easier in terms of not slipping, but it is a rough incline so don't drink all of your water at the bottom. All in all, it is an amazing experience and definitely a highlight of our entire PR trip. I would consider it a must do, as long as you have the right people. read more

It was quite an adventure!!! We are in our mid 40s and the group that showed up was a total of 30 of us. They provide a non waterproof backpack, helmet and life jacket that you carry until you get to the zip line. Yes, it is a hike and you must be in good physical shape to do this tour as it is filled with mud, roots and rocks. It is a MUST to come with good walking sneakers, old shirt and shorts as you will get them dirty. DO NOT come with water shoes, you will break your ankles if not more. The same hike you take down will be the same hike back up. The guides were the best and very helpful in challenging locations. And of course the tubing was the ultimate. We recommend this tour to the adventurous spirits that enjoy a challenge. And yes, there is a cave jump into the water about a 20 foot jump. read more

Best activity in PR! For our week long trip this was the best activity we did by far. The price is very reasonable for being able to zip-line, cave jump, and tube. The trip is definitely for those that are athletic as the hike (2.2ish miles round trip) is very difficult. We saw a few people drop out within a few minutes of starting. Prepare by bringing good tennis shoes (will get dirty), lots of water, snacks, and a waterproof phone case for pictures. read more

This was one of the highlights of our entire trip in Puerto Rico!! Our package included a combination of hiking, zip-lining, and cave tubing which lasted around 5 hours total. The views in the mountains and the caves were breathtaking (and beyond verbal descriptions). We had a great time sightseeing, getting physically active and covering ourselves with mud and water. That said, you have to be comfortable getting your clothes and body wet and dirty to enjoy the full activity, but it is definitely worth it. The entire experience was adventurous in an accessible way. There were 5-6 of guides (all young boys) in our team, and all of them were very conscientious, trustworthy, gentle, and grounding. They helped make sure everyone was safe, trouble-shot promptly, and provided support throughout to make sure we all had the best experience. One of the guides Warren also provided us with super helpful transportation service. My friend and I both very much appreciated the team for everything :) read more

FANTASTIC!!!! My BF and I went to PR for Christmas and New Years and did a few activities, such as.. go-karting, Snorkeling, rented a bar boat and went around the island, horseback riding and I have to say this was the best thing we did!! The staff is super polite, funny, helpful and full of information of the area. Which made everything even better. They have local dogs 4, that actually go back and forth with you on the tour. They are the cutest! There is a 30ish minute hike to get to the ZIPLINE! Make sure to look back, the view is awesome! Then you grab your tube, hike some more.. then you get to the section where you can pick to jump 10ft or 20.. I went with 10.. I wasn't mentally prepared for 20! Then you get on the tubes and let it rock.. The ONE thing I will say.. I really wish they would have put on the info to wear SNEAKERS or HIKING BOOTS only!!! The open strap hiking sandals was not a good idea!!! I was slipping and sliding everywhere.. I banged up my toes a bit and if it wasn't for my boyfriend helping me.. I would have probably hurt myself pretty bad. The statement they put on the flyer is true.. if you think this might be too much for you.. it probably is.. It was a very slippery, rocky trail. But OHHHH sooo worth it!!!! read more

First you take a hike for about 1 Mile ... l the hike is pretty intense a lot of climbing, jumping, takes a lot of physical effort .... but once you reach the river .. WOW ... amazing views. I have never in my life been taken on such a unsafe tour! My friends and I wanted to do this cave tour after the Cavernas de Canuy had such a long wait. One of the employees said he had to make a few calls to find a tour guide same day, but it turns out he called two of his unlicensed 18 year old friends to take us through a ONE-HOUR, NO TRESPASSING, UNMAINTAINED hike to a river (that I'm sure few if any ever visit) where we had ONE headlamp for the 7 of us as we walked UPSTREAM with tubes to float down a dark, rapid stream of 50 feet. Then we got out and hiked through more dangerous terrain to another very unkept and dangerous area where one of my friends fell out and injured his hand on the MANY rocks. To top it off, the tour ended so late that we walked the dangerous, unmaintined, strenuous hour-long hike back to our car in the DARK with just a green glow stick as our guide. Unbelievable. I understand that a normal river tubing tour comes with adventure and the potential bumps and bruises, but this was definitely not the tour advertised nor the tour seen in the photos. We are all fairly fit and in our 20's but there is no way anyone younger, older, or in any less-fit state could even reach this river and complete this tour. We're demanding a refund (we each paid $75 and we didn't even sign any waivers!!) but the company has yet to respond to this horrific event. So unprofessional and so careless. read more

First and foremost I love supporting individuals that are or once were prior service (military). Once learned that one of the owner's served in the Navy I was sold! Now on to the fun stuff. I considered myself fit and NEVER have repelled or climbed vertical walls. It was my 30 birthday and I wanted to live life on the edge and do a real adventure. I spent countless hours researching and I mean countless... we all know when you search the same ones come out. So I checked all those out one by one I wasn't happy with what the tour was offering or price tag. I found one but the cost was through the roof $165 per person!!!!! Ya, I wanted an adventure but not at the expense of my wallet! I somehow randomly found Puerto Rico Westside Adventures. Unlike the other extreme tours this one did not have a lot of reviews but had excellent ratings... at first I thought maybe they went out of business... at which time I was super bummed. The tours they offered seemed just like what I wanted! Oh ya and the PRICE was below $100 per person which hey we all are trying to save ;). Anyways, the cave tour is actually fairly new and that is why it does not have as many reviews as the other tours that have been around a lot longer. I will not spoil it but all I can say I am in the military and have had a tour in Afghanistan and this was an adrenaline junkies dream. Oh if you're afraid of heights DO NOT do it!! 280ft repel. If you're claustrophobic then DO NOT do it!! You have to crawl in tight areas in some spots. If you're not fit DO NOT do it!! it is very physical. I cannot say enough good things about this tour company, the owner, and the guides. I felt safe at all times and the tour guides were pleasant to be around. I LOVE IT and can't wait to go back to do their other tours!!!!!! read more
