my kids have been going to this practice for over 5 years. we are on state apple health insurance. at our 6 month check up they had advised me to "floss/brush" a giant cavity inbetween his teeth. I asked if a filling can be done they advised me against it. shortly after our 6 month check up my son began to complain about extreme pain. when I brought him in they advised they can only sedate the patient & extract. I asked if a pulpotomy could be done they said no. in my professional opinion they did not do any of the other procedures (which were much less invasive) because state insurance only pays for prevention. its unfortunate the insurance doesn't pay but this is malpractice & needs to be investigated. If I could prevent one child from losing a tooth & pain from this review that would be great! I was in dental for 10 years & am fully aware of procedures & insurance read more

My baby girl (1year) saw Dr. Farmer today at the Monroe location. Registration was very quick and easy with one phone call, I was then sent new patient paperwork via text message link- quick and easy to fill out! When we arrived I was promptly checked in and pulled back for our appointment where we were introduced to Dr. Farmer and Liz- dental assistant. We've been going to see Dr. Laws at Puget Sound Pediatric Dentistry since my daughter was 1 and all of the staff we've ever interacted with have been awesome. From the receptionists to the dental assistants to Dr. Laws herself, everyone makes it into a fun experience. The first few visits were pretty short with just a quick brush and floss and fluoride treatment. My daughter cried at the first visit but it was over really quick and it's gotten easier and easier at each visit. My daughter had her 3 year checkup and climbed into the big chair all on her own and was so proud of herself. They give out prize tokens to use in little vending type machines and rubber ducks. They really try so hard to make it a good introduction to going to the dentist and not traumatising at all which I appreciate so much. My kiddo enjoys brushing and flossing and looks forward to going to the dentist which makes me so happy because I've had dental issues as an adult and don't want her to go through the pain and stress of having dental problems. We're moving about an hour north and we still plan on driving back for the dentist because they're truly that good. read more

My 3 son's were all patients here and there were never any fillings or sealants or anything being done. When my oldest son was 9 they said 4 teeth needed to be pulled. 2 being permanent teeth we then realized. Thankfully I reached out to an oral surgeon who promptly called puget sound ped and asked why would they not try to save my son's teeth? they said "the parents didn't want to spend the time or money". We were told this was always the best thing to do without any other option. Then had a orthodontist, ped dentist, endodontist all give their opinion which was to save the teeth. If only I would have questioned them not treating the decaying teeth for all these years but I trusted their professional advice every 6 months we went in. We spent almost $10,000 and him being put under a total of 10 hours to save those 2 teeth. I hope this story helps another family and they don't have to go through what we have had to read more

They even give the kiddos a little token at the end to put in the machine to get a toy! When I first went to they were so kind and helpful. I loved it! But as my children had more needs for their teeth we were treated as if no one cared for my children's issues. The dentist didn't even take X-rays of my child's teeth until I requested it. They just wanted to watch her tooth decay until I called and said my child was hurting and needed to be seen again. After the third appointment seeing the dentist in lake Stevens we were told we had to have 8 crowns done!!! I was very upset and I had asked for a second opinion and was sent to Monroe. I was then told we didn't have to do 8 crowns and there were other options. After many tears and conversations with the dentist we had a plan and I needed to pick a day to do the procedure. Well this isn't even an option! After requesting the time off from my job I called to let them know the date I picked but was told I could no longer have that date because they were too full! As a working parent I was very upset and asked why they gave me a date to just be told I couldn't choose it. No one had told me there were other appointments on the day of her procedure. I was under the impression that it was only going to be my child that day in the office and this was not the case! After being upset with this policy and told them it was "stupid" I was deactivated from their system without any notice when I called to ask a question I was told I could never come back for calling them stupid. After waiting for months to even get a plan in place that worked for my child, I have to start the process all over again (all while my child has cavities that need attention). They do not care about the children and what they need! They just do the bare minimum or the easiest fix for them and send you on your way with no explanation of anything. This place has the worst policies and will drop you for even missing an appointment. I would never recommend them to anyone read more

Dr Lugo and his team are the absolute BEST! They are the only ones I trust to take care of my kids' teeth and they are the only ones who have proven to me that they can do it properly. They know how to handle children, they know how to explain things so they arent scary and in a way that the kids can understand. Dr Lugo is a funny, positive, upbeat, wonderful guy and my kids LOOK FORWARD to going to the dentist because of him! We had been to quite a few dentists before we met Dr Lugo, we actually came to him for a second opinion after another place was trying to fill cavities that werent actually there (thanks to Dr Lugo for telling us there were none so we could keep the other docs office from drilling into healthy teeth!) and we have stayed here ever since. The dentist himself is great. However contacting this office is impossible. Everytime I call (during business hours), I get the voicemail, and I never get my calls returned. In march I had to pay out of pocket for my daughter's visit because there was an insurance mix up on my and my employers end. I called back two days later with my insurance info and I was supposed to be reimbursed for $191. It is now Near the end of July and I have yet to recieve my refund. I called two weeks ago and got their voicemail, no call back. I called today, surprise, I got the voicemail. Lets see if I get a call back... read more
