I had the privilege of serving as Pullman Regional Hospital's Interim Chief Financial Officer from Sept 2025-Feb 2026. As a 49 year veteran Hospital CFO I can honestly say PRH is one of the best performing hospitals I've been associated with. Its Board of Commissioners is really smart and is an excellent steward of the community's tax dollars. The Executive Leadership Team, led by Matt Forge, is bringing the hospital and clinics to an ever-higher level. The department leaders and all employees are patient service and quality focused. Patients are enjoying this, as patient experience surveys per CMS Hospital Compare website, are rating PRH as a Five Star hospital for "I Highly Recommend", "Cleanliness" and several additional categories. The providers and staff are truly the nicest, friendliest and most talented in the health care field. The people of the Palouse are blessed to have this amazing asset serving them. I am in the ER with my 76 year old aunt. She was brought in by ambulance because she was in too much pain to get in my car. While she was left alone in the bathroom, I heard the nurse talking about her at the nursing station. I was around a corner from her. Then Dr Gillis said she is inappropriately using resources by calling the ambulance. Apparently my aunt told them I would be there soon after I got coffee. They decided that meant she called the ambulance so I could stop and get coffee. When I asked the doctor for his name, he told me to stay in our room because of HIPAA. I asked for his name again and he gave it to me. That is when I told him I heard them from around the corner. We have been in this ER with many family members over the years. Usually our experience is fantastic and the treatment is wonderful. After today I don't want my aunt to come hear again. read more

I cannot say enough good things about this hospital and all of the doctors and staff that work there. Everyone from the front reception desk to the nurses doctors and procedure coordinators bent over backwards and went above and beyond their normal job duties to work with my husband. Through research we found out about their Pain management Center and a new procedure called Iovera. We contacted them for an urgent initial consultation appointment to get pain relief for a trip we had scheduled, and they worked hard to get my husband scheduled within one week. Within 2 more weeks a great coordinator named Angie facilitated the scheduling of a procedure by John Schirmer for both knees and even on a normally non-surgery day. My husband required a second procedure and they once again (thanks to Angie) immediately got him in and Corey Johnson did the second procedure. We found John Schirmer and Corey Johnson to be extremely knowledgeable, professional, caring, competent and compassionate. If you have any type of chronic pain feel confident in contacting Pullman Regional Hospital Pain Management Center. Everyone there is amazing! read more

Staff seems to have no idea what they are doing, and they have incredibly high turnover. I do not recommend ever visiting this hospital. read more

This is a hospital that does not treat pain with controlled substances. Their anesthesia department prides itself on being anti opioid. I was prescribed opioids for pain for over fifteen years, however this hospitals staff suggested cutting open my body, locating the nerve cluster, and inserting basically a heated soldering iron to destroy a perfectly health nerve cluster, which MAY result in a small reduction of pain over time, for a limited amount of time. Or nerve block injections in which they insert a large needle into your body to inject a solution directly on a nerve cluster. I replied, or I could just take a pill, like I have been doing for the past fifteen years! Also refused to see me at clinic unless I signed a document stating I would not be prescribed ANY controlled substances! Even then would have to wait 6 to 8 weeks to be treated for my pain and agony. read more

Warning!!! Do not have your child here!!! The food here taste's really bad and you cant leave so you have to eat it. The nurses and doctors are so rude. They talk to you like you're a little kid and they act like you annoy them by just being in their presence. They aren't comforting at all. Very assertive and emotionless. They have the worst people skills. They don't talk friendly at all. They lack even the most basic communication skills. You try to talk to them and everything is answered with one word monotone answers with a hint of attitude. It's like the hospital purposely went out on a mission to find and hire the most wierdest awkward people. They are a joke to say the least. Why be in the medical field if you hate people? That's not the worst part either. They messed up our pregnancy and it forced us to get a c-section. The doctor was so rude when he told her that she was being forced to have a c-section. Please spread the word. It will feel great even saving just one person from this nightmare. read more

It's a better hospital then gritman but if u have a surgery there...? Anesthesia is a little rude and if you have any requests to make yourself feel more safe and comfortable they kinda just laugh at you and are like "ha ok then we will see." Making someone who has anxiety a little more anxious. The lab is great but radiology doesn't seem to communicate well. Also I agree with other reviews about nurses. They are all kinda strange, don't know how to talk to patients and are short with you and sassy...I feel like that could be worked on. read more

Poor service with a bunch of excuses and when asked hospital policy or to speak to someone who could explain the policies I was given a bunch of excuses with no proof. I would have given no stars if I could have. Pullman Hospital has ruined my ability to have ANY kind of doctor. Someone on their wonderful staff of doctors and/or nurses wrote on my record that I had overdosed on barbiturates and marijuana. I don't even take barbiturates. Now every doctor that I've seen in Washington sees those notes and I cannot get the right care. I am so livid about this. Now this will follow me around for years. I do not recommend coming to this hospital unless you want a record like mine. Ruined. Also for almost a year they misdiagnosed me and treated me like a criminal for no reason. Turns out all I had was IBS for 20 something years and they just jumped to conclusions. Also my fiancee's father recently died because this hospital sent him home three or four times with discharge coming out of his penis. He died from becoming septic because they kept turning him away. He died because of their neglectful actions. I would tell anyone to NOT EVER go to this hospital. They should be shut down for making things up. read more

Negligence and Greed I originally attempted to go to immediate care (a medical service not affiliated with pullman regional hostpital, but nevertheless located in the same building) where I was told I had to go to the emergency room at Pullman Regional Hospital (PRH) for my particular health issue. When I arrived at the ER, the service was cold, and within 15 minutes I was given a small inexpensive prescription and sent on my way.... Two hours later, through a series of accidents and the wisdom of a kind personal doctor, I was in the ICU at Gritman Medical Center in Moscow, Idaho, where I remained in serious condition for 36 hours before being moved to a regular room for two additional days of monitoring. A couple months later the bill from PRH arrived....$615.15 for their 15 minutes. $8 for the cheap medication... And a tacked on $600 for who knows what. My insurance refused to cover such ridiculous overcharging, but instead of dropping it...or lowering the bill to something reasonable....PRH began incessantly calling me for their hard earned money, threatening colllections. One would think after such obvious negligence they would show some restraint. How such practice remains legal blows my mind. Bottom Line: Go to PRH at your own risk. Only through a series of serendipitous events was my condition properly handled. If you have the option, then drive the 15 extra minutes to Gritman Medical in Moscow. Not only is the service better, it might just save your life. read more

This place is terrible. They told my friends parents she would be discharged in the morning. It is about 3:30am and the nurses are now trying to get her to leave. Kicking her out into the freezing cold in the middle of the night definitely doesn't help anyone. Doctors should've said that she would be released at this time or they should shut up and stop trying to throw her out right now when no one is available to pick her up. Nurse I talked to was rude and seemed completely unconcerned with my friends wellbeing and was only interested in kicking her out. read more

My husband was having chest pain when I took him to the ER at Pullman. Their prompt and effective interventions got him Life Flight lifted to Spokane, resulting in minimal damage to his heart. He is home and I know their actions set the stage for a positive outcome. read more

After the terrible experiences I had at Gritman Medical in Moscow I am telling everyone I can to skip gritman and go the small extra distance to Pullman Regional whenever possible. Seriously. We had our son at PRH in 2012. It was an amazing experience. The staff was friendly, helpful, and professional. The hospital had a hotel feeling to it. Patients were given a room-service menu to order from when hungry. Spouses/partners were able to access drinks (soda, etc) from a refrigerator in the hall. The arrangements for the partner to spend the night were comfortable. This experience was totally different than another we had at a different regional hospital. I would recommend PRH to anyone. It is worth the drive. I refuse to go to any other hospital in the area. This is what quality health care looks like! read more

If I could give negative stars, they would be a minus 10. I do not recommend this emergency room to anyone who would like to be listened to, have their medical records looked at or treated like a human being. Also, if you complain about being mistreated they call the police and make up lies that you threatened them and their safety. They are now being reported for harassment as well as for not doing their job. If you care about being treated like a human being you would be better off going to a veterinarian as they have more compassion and knowledge than the idiots they have at this emergency room. This especially applies if you identify as LGBTQ. Very unprofessional of a doctor to slam the exam room door simply because you are wearing pride socks. Obviously, there is a severe problem with tolerance. They talk a good talk about inclusion, but when push comes to shove and it's time to put your work behind your words, they simply are not capable of doing so. Bottom line is, if you prefer to be treated like a human being, go ANYWHERE ELSE! read more

My Wife and I decided on Pullman Regional to have our child at. We could not have made a better choice. The entire staff, from the doctors and nurses to the food service staff, are WONDERFUL! Patient care is No. 1 here for sure! I would recommend the birthing center here to anyone looking.
