I was established patient of Dr. Ahner' for many years. On Mother's Day 2026, I was injured in a…read moremassage. I knew I needed a chest MRI done. I called Dr. Ahner's office to ask him to write an order. The nurse who answered the phone outright refused to issue the order because I hadn't been seen in more than a year. (I had been dealing with a series of family emergencies and the year obviously got away from me.) I told the nurse that I would be happy to come in, if that is what I must do to have an order written. Then, to my utter horror, the nurse said I couldn't come in because there were no available appointments until next year. What kind of doctor and office refuses to provide essential care for an established patient who is undergoing an urgent issue? This is an outrage. Needless to say, I won't be back.

Knowing that I would…read morelook like a drug seeking addict, I came armed with all the correct documents, files, health records, and even a hand written letter from my personal physician. Long and short of it. I had to establish care with a primary who was very judgmental and MADE me do labs that had just been done 2 weeks prior. COULD NOT prescribe the meds I needed, when in Illinois my nurse practitioner is allowed to prescribe these meds. Referred me to a pain specialist who took 3 weeks! to get back to me and said I don't prescribe meds for some off the wall reason that had absolutely nothing to do with my disability!! Incompetent. Is one way to describe Cleveland Clinic.

I had a very disappointing and honestly concerning experience with Dr. David Elliott…read more I came in with ongoing symptoms and a known gallstone, after experiencing multiple attacks over several months. Despite this, my concerns were dismissed and my lab results were misinterpreted. I was reassured that my symptoms were not related to my gallbladder as he "has been doing this 30 years and is board certified." After leaving the appointment, I immediately went to the ER, where I was diagnosed with an inflamed and infected gallbladder and had to undergo emergency surgery to have it removed. I also felt that I was not taken seriously and that there may have been bias based on my medical profile which made the experience even more frustrating and upsetting. This situation could have been handled very differently with more careful evaluation and attention to my symptoms. Instead, it led to unnecessary escalation and an emergency procedure. I would strongly encourage others to seek a second opinion if they are experiencing similar symptoms.
