We were looking for a company to install a Reverse Osmosis water system in our home. We contacted…read moreNew Gen Plumbing and Jose was here the next day to provide a bid on the project. We also asked that they include pricing on replacing the main household water valve located in the laundry room. Their quote was very reasonable and the work was scheduled. Jose and his assistant installed the RO system, connecting it to both the kitchen faucet and the refrigerator ice maker. They also replaced the main water valve. This included cutting out, replacing and painting sheetrock around the valve. All work was done flawlessly. After a month or so, we noticed the RO system occasionally making a high-pitched squealing sound. We contacted New Gen and Jose came out to trouble shoot the issue. He discovered that one of the manufacturer's system components was not working properly and was able to remedy the situation. He even took time to measure and show us the quality of the water that the system was producing. The level of professionalism and technical capability of Jose and the New Gen team was exceptional. We highly recommend New Gen and will call them for any of our future plumbing needs.

We recently had a plumbing emergency at our home in Kingwood when water began leaking out of our…read moredownstairs toilet and creating a large puddle on the floor. This is an issue we've dealt with on and off over the years due to a recurring clog in the line, so we've had plumbers come out before to clear it. Because this was urgent, my husband called the Kingwood office of Roto-Rooter since they were the closest location to us. The technicians came out and attempted to clear the clog but said they couldn't get it. They then told us they ran a camera through the line and claimed our pipe was broken. We were then given an estimate of around $13,000 to repair the pipe. On top of that, we were charged over $400 essentially just for the visit and the diagnosis. At the time, we trusted what they told us. But later my husband started thinking about the appointment and realized something important: we were never shown the camera footage of this supposed broken pipe. He called the office afterward to ask about the footage and was told that they usually don't show customers the camera during the inspection and that the footage is typically sent later. But that raises an obvious concern: How would we even know if the footage sent later is actually from our home if we were never shown it during the inspection? Because of this, my husband decided to get a second opinion from another plumbing company. When the second company came out, they immediately ran their camera and invited us outside to watch the live camera feed with them while they inspected the line. What they showed us was very clear. Our pipe was NOT broken. Instead, the line simply has a belly/bend in the pipe, which we had been told about years ago and which can contribute to clogs. They were also able to successfully clear the clog during that same visit. So in our situation: * We were told we needed a $13,000 repair for a broken pipe * We were charged over $400 for that diagnosis * We were never shown the camera footage during the inspection * Another company showed us the live camera feed and confirmed the pipe was not broken * The actual problem -- the clog -- was cleared without a $13,000 repair As homeowners, we rely on professionals to provide honest and transparent information, especially during stressful emergencies. Being told we needed a major $13,000 repair that turned out not to be true is extremely concerning. What concerned us the most The biggest issue for us was the lack of transparency. If a company is diagnosing a broken pipe using a camera inspection, customers should be able to see the footage at the time of the inspection. Advice for other homeowners Before agreeing to any major sewer repair, make sure to ask: * Can I see the live camera footage of the problem? * Can you point out exactly where the pipe is broken? * Can I receive the footage before agreeing to the repair? If we had not gotten a second opinion, we could have easily moved forward with a $13,000 repair that wasn't actually needed. We would appreciate someone from management at Roto-Rooter reviewing this situation and contacting us regarding the $400+ we paid for a diagnosis that turned out to be incorrect.

My water heater suddenly stopped running and unfortunately I couldn't figure out how to restart it…read moreso I called Rotor-Rooter. They were able to respond fairly quick and took a total of about 10 minutes to turn on my water heater. The problem was THEY CHARGED ME $298.00 to do so! I found out that the water heater has a breaker that needed to be reset. My ignorance of this ended up being very costly; however, the fact that Rotor-Rooter took advantage of this is completely unethical and it shows that they are more than willing to put their profit making before their customer service. The technician that helped us was very nice but his company's policy is outrageous. I would understand paying a fair service call price, but $298.00 for a job that took only 10 minutes!!! Don't used these crooks!!!

These people are not right at all. They have the nerve to advertise "it doesn't have to be…read moreexpensive to be professional"-- they are the total opposite! I reached out to Nelson who was referred by a lady from my mom's church-- so I'm thinking he is a plumber that is reputable and will do the services. No-- he kept saying his dispatcher would reach out and attempt to service me. This dispatcher sounds foreign, can't understand what she is saying. We go bk and forth over 4 phone calls trying to make an apt. Finally the guy that is doing services calls and says he is on the way. On every one of these phone calls including the intial call with Nelson and the 5 other calls no one mentioned anything about a service charge. The guy finally comes, I have a shower that recently was repaired improperly-- it sits upstairs over the kitchen. All of the sheetrock was precut and revealed the pipes, all the pipes replaced were new just not properly sealed-- I turned on the shower, ofcourse it wasnt leaking. I explained to Rick that I have 5 children and the leak using starts after the 3rd shower.. he never saw the shower leaking, he comes bk with a tape measure to measure the pipe and then tells me its going to be 785.00 to repair. And 85 for coming out. I ask him about how long do you think it would take-- he says about 2 to 3 hrs. Dude are you crazy! I tell him no one said anything about paying for you to come out and 85 bucks is a high service charge-- especially when he did absolutely nothing, I told him what was wrong, he didnt diagnose anything use any tools, he didnt even see a leak. I checked the reviews and I wish I had before calling these people. They even said they do 60 to 180day warranties but on the reciept they gave it says 30 day warranties for all repairs; 3 day warranties on some services. 180 warranties are only for water heater installation. NELSON AND HIS COMPANY ARE NOT RIGHT! THEY ARE OVER CHARGING PEOPLE AND DOING SERVICE CALLS WITHOUT TELLING PEOPLE THE COSTS FOR COMING OUT! THEY ARE FALSE ADVERTISING AND LYING TO CUSTOMERS! SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO DEAL WITH A MORE PROFESSIONAL COMPANY BC THIS PERFECTION PLUMBING AINT IT-- NOBODY IS PERFECT!!
