Checked in last Sunday and wow -- I didn't realize how Halloween-popular this trail gets! The crowd was wild (in a good way) -- hikers dressed up, groups everywhere, and a whole lot of pumpkin spirit. It honestly felt like a mini fall festival on a mountain. I went with one of my hiking baddies, from LA Hiking Baddies, and I'm so glad I brought my hiking sticks -- that incline is no joke! The trail loops nicely, and we clocked about 4 miles total in roughly two hours (with plenty of snack and photo breaks, of course). The best part? Waiting in line for the famous giant pumpkin photo -- because if you didn't snap it, did you even go? Totally worth it. Pro tip: go early, bring water, and wear something festive if you want to blend in with the Halloween vibes. Super fun hike with a view that's just as cute as the crowd.

This is a fun hike that is short but has a steady incline and decline to the giant pumpkin painted rock. Dirt path with some rocks. Brush on the sides - watch out for rattlesnakes in warm weather. A light up USA sign on the way up and a team of metal shaped horses on the path. There are random painted rocks to enjoy as well. Dog friendly. Go enjoy some outdoor time.

When you are a lover of all things Halloween, why wouldn't you want to hike up to Pumpkin Rock ?! Sign me up! Located behind a residential neighborhood in Norco, there is a great big rock painted like Jack Skellington. Off street parking at the start of the trail, you can't miss it. GPS / Google maps was very accurate on how to get here. The hill is steep hiking up and down, but manageable. Not a long trail, but still fun to get a good workout in. Take your time walking around at the top, there are a fewer smaller trails that circle back around. Beautiful view of the valley. Lots of fun Graffiti , smaller pumpkins and photo ops. Great for kids !

I would say.... It look us about 30 mins to hike in and 30 mins out. It's easy enough for a beginner but I would wear good sneakers with good grips! I went on a sunny and not so hot day and it was nice. I just parked right in front of the trail.

    Breezy at the top

Great hike in norco area that can be a short hike or a long hike. High above in the hills in between Riverside and Norco you won't regret this hike.

Did a short hike to the pumpkin painted rock during Halloween while my brother was visiting from out of town, and it was a fun experience. The trail is located in a nice, quiet neighborhood and wasn't busy at all when we went, which made it even more enjoyable. It's a short hike but definitely enough to break a sweat or two. Overall, a good experience and a fun seasonal outing.

Honestly? Pumpkin Rock is great! The hike is quick enough that you don't question your life choices, but still spicy enough to feel like you did something productive before getting iced coffee. The trail's easy to follow, the views are amazing and yes, I took my pics the vibe at the top is super chill, you get that mix of outdoorsy energy with a side of "let me pose real quick." Totally worth the trek. If you need a cute, low-commitment adventure with Instagram payoff? Pumpkin Rock is a 10/10, will climb again.

This is a nice little short trail that's great for family and kids. It isn't too much of an incline or strenuous at all. You would have to park at the bottom of the hill and hike up but the walk to the entrance is extremely close. At the top is a large pumpkin rock surrounded by other rocks with different paintings on them.

Easy kid friendly hike to do close to home... I've been coming to Pumpkin Rock for over ten years now and I love it... The trail is not paved, but it wide and easy to climb until you get to the upper portion of the Hike.. I definitely recommend taking hiking shoes or some type of shoe that has good grip because coming down the mountain can get slippery.. I enjoy doing this hike because it does not have very many people and it's nice. I usually park my car at the park at the bottom of the hill and start my walk from there... There are many different trails to take up the mountain and You can continue to hike past the rock if you want to incorporate more cardio... I also recommend to take a hat or umbrella if you are going on a hot sunny day because there is no shade on this hike and it gets hot... Overall it is fun and not to hard to hike with kids... It is a good way to workout with the while family.

Very cute hike with a great view at the top! A bit steeper and more treacherous than I expected, but still short and simple. Other small attractions and pit stops to see along the way to the top. The titular pumpkin rock could use a paint job.. and I can't help but wonder why they don't paint more of the big rocks to make a pumpkin patch at the top. Still, a great day trip for an early October hike before grabbing lunch in Norco.

Such a cool spot to visit! There are a few different trails to get to the pumpkin rock. Some are steep but faster (took me around 15 minutes with a couple of breaks) & others are longer and less steep (about 30-45 minutes.) The rock has been repainted since the last time I was there...the graffiti that was on it is now gone. There's plenty of street parking!

Such a fun hike for the Halloween/fall season. However there's two ways to go up the trail and I chose the most difficult and steep way up! Just because it looks shorter, does not mean it's easier. Don't be like me and take the regular route instead. It'll save you from slipping. My dog loved it though, she had a great time!
