Easy, short, and fun hike! Free parking on the streets. There are multiple paths that get you to the pumpkin rock. I just plugged the address listed on Yelp into my GPS and parked once my GPS said I had "arrived". Plus, you'll see the pumpkin rock as you get closer. As for where to enter from... there are multiple ways. When I was there, I found 3 different entrances, but there are likely more. Honestly, as long as you can see the pumpkin, just take a trail that's headed toward the pumpkin rock and you'll be fine. A few boulders along the hike you can climb on, which was total bonus. And this sizeable pumpkin rock was worth the 45min drive I took to get there. I'd estimate the rock at 20-30ft tall. So awesome! There's also George Ingalls Equestrian Center nearby with horses! Friends and I wandered in there (no fence or signs telling us to stay out) and no one seemed to mind. The time it took us to get to pumpkin rock, take photos, climb on boulders, trek down, hang out with horses, and get back to car: 2.5 hours. And we took our time with everything. You can easily do trek to and from pumpkin (including some photo time) in 30 min. Happy Halloween! read more

I hike a lot and LOVE halloween, so this has always been on my list of hikes to do. It was a bit of a drive, but it was a fun hike and the uniqueness of the pumpkin rock was a nice change of pace. It's a nice little hike. We enjoyed it. Parking is free. I went there with family and our 5 and 7 year old made it up there. It's a bit steep in areas. The trail has a lot of loose gravel that had our little ones slipping just a little. Nothing to stop them from reaching Pumpkin Rock though. Oh one thing to really watch out for is the broken glass. There was a lot of it scattered among the trail and the rocks. It's a short trail and once you get up there it's a nice view. There were about 10 other people around the rock when we made it up there. As others have said it's good to go at a time of day that doesn't have the sun right above you because it won't allow for good pictures of the rock. When we went (10-29-16) the big Pumpkin Rock was nicely painted. No graffiti. You can see on the back how people have painted things on the rock. That's a little unfortunate for such a neat idea. We walked a bit passed the rock and enjoyed more of the trail. Again, loose gravel, graffiti on the other rocks and broken glass here and there, but a wonderful view. Glad to say been there! The walk to the pumpkin is less than a mile. But it does have some incline. There are several little trails that you can take to get to it. There's a lot of graffiti and broken glass all over so if you have small children be careful. One thing I notice is that people are so rude. They see you waiting to take a picture with it and they cut you off. Get there early or later in the day because the sun will not let you take a good picture of the pumpkin. Overall it was alright. We did this hike on Friday (2/12/16) and I think it would be more fun to go the month of October. You get some pretty good views in all directions from the top of the hill and a good photo op with the the "pumpkin head". It was a short hike of about 2.5 miles and there is no shade. There is a strong odor of horses coming from the nearby neighbor. It is located near a golf course and a housing complex, so if you are looking for an escape from civilization, this hike is not for you. read more

Absolutely love this trail! I went early Monday morning so there was no one there. The hills are green and beautiful and the pumpkin is huge! I parked exactly where the directions lead you there's a lot of parking available. Great trail some incline but definitely not too hard. read more

It's exactly what you see in pics. A big rock painted like a pumpkin. Trail up is no big deal. Multiple ways to get up there, either way shouldn't take you more than 15 minutes or so. View is spectacular once you get to top. You can see over Norco and into Riverside. The pumpkin itself has graffiti on it, etc. Sux that people can't appreciate anything and always have to ruin things. Fun for pics but once you have done it, your good. read more

Not much shade so I don't recommend in the harsh summers, but now that it's winter this is a perfect spot to get your work out in. Just don't expect to bring a stroller or wheelchair. read more

nice little hike! we parked off of vandermolen where a little opening was to the trail. remember to read the signs! you could see the pumpkin at the top peeking out :). the trail we took was a short and steep one, loose gravel in some parts but not bad. i normally hike in hiking shoes but i was fine in running shoes for this one. it gets your heart pumping at a good rate but not unbearably steep the whole way. the very top is adorable, it has nice views of Norco. we took our four month old pup to this for his first hike, and there were tons of families and even moms with their babies in slings. wild recommend for beginners! read more

Nice short hike with good views, but to go here would be to encourage all the graffiti being painted up there. It would be great if one or two rock are assigned for graffiti but it is spreading to a large area and would be very expensive to clean. read more

Free and easy parking. I could see the giant pumpkin from the road so I knew I was in the right place, which always puts my mind at ease. I hiked up the steeper side, which was nice but it is not for everyone and is a tad bit slippery. I recommend shoes with grip, but you can wear converse and slip several times on your way down the mountain just as I did. It can get very windy on top of the mountain. read more

Enjoyed the trail and love how challenging some of the hills were. Everyone I passed was friendly and tolerated my puppy - who barks at everything! Big downfall for me was the political graffiti and spray paint on the rocks. Really took away from the beauty of the hike. This hike is fun, you'll get a good work out in if you're time limited.There's 2 ways to reach the pumpkin.. The really steep hill or the one that wraps around the hill. We took the longer inclined route to get to the top and the really steep hill to get back down. Be careful of loose gravel. This is a place where I would come back. read more

Easy hike! Pretty steep in the beginning but the view was worth it! We parked just in the neighborhood by some other cars because we did not want to risk getting a ticket. We could not find the entrance for the first 10 minutes, even had to ask some people passing by but they were having a hard time trying to find it as well. The entrance to the hike was hidden, but glad we found it. It was located at the end of the street, as soon as the bottom of the street curved. There was a little opening leading into the steep incline. Once we reached the top, other hikers just arrived and apparently there are various entrances to the hike but the one we took was the shortest hike. read more

It's a nice place to go for a small amount of exercise. No hard at all, even my grandma can make it. The view on top it's nice. I took my dog for a walk there and couldn't pass the opportunity to take him a picture with the pumpkin rock. The only bad thing about it were the damn insects and the broken glass around the pumpkin rock, my boy almost cut his paws. read more

Awesome hike, good for kiddos I would say 4+ has mostly incline so be ready to work out your legs. The hike is not very long and easy to stay on the trail. The parking was a little hard to find so we parked on the street parking by the neighborhood houses at the bottom of the mountain. This hidden gem has become a staple during Halloween in the city of Norco. It's very accessible to it's nearby residents. I do recommend arriving as early as possible during the month of October, later in the day it just gets more crowded and your photo opportunity lessen. The hike it's self is short no more than 20 mins on avg. There are two to three paths up and they vary on the incline. Overall a great place to visit but I would like if the trail was more kept as you see people sliding down the hill often. read more

Fun and a good workout with great views and the cool pumpkin rock. Took dogs they liked it. Needs to be cleaned up by city of Norco since there was so much broken glass all around the rocks. A challenge going down the hill so bring good shoes. We will go back for sure! read more

I took the Crestview route which is a super quick way up to the rock- it's very loose and slippery so be careful. This was fun to take my dog with me- she can't really do long distances but had fun climbing up the hill. The rock is cool, I appreciate that it is well maintained. Be careful if you explore past the pumpkin to the other graffiti-ed rocks- there are snakes hiding under rocks. Fun photo op, but not much to do once you get your instapic. read more
