I'm going to say it.......I think my kiddos had more fun here than at Cox Farms, which is consistently held to as the premiere Fall event in NOVA. Rather than focus on slides (of which there are two) Pumpkin Village has moon bounces. We first went to the giant pumpkin inflatable, followed by the corn bin and the zip line. My son loved the castle inflatable and the train inflatable. Several also were more obstacle course with corn and animal themes. We had lots of fun on the pedal cars and the giant pumpkin pillow too.We spent time indoors as well doing arts and crafts and playing in the indoor playground. That was nice to have given how windy it was. While you don't get a pumpkin like Cox Farms, it's still fun and worth the trip. read more

Best fall place for kids. with an animal farm tied to it and indoor space for kids, what else could you want? The slides (tons of independent playground equipment structures and 3 slides built into the hill), inflatables (6 or 7, i think) , mazes, tractor ride, zip line, sandbox, feeding pond, snack truck (free with cider and apples), indoor area - giant play area with trampoline and slides and climbing/netting, play floor area, there is just so much to do, it is crazy. the open/interactive area with the goats, pigs, alpacas, and donkeys was great, too. The animals are gentle and my son didn't get his fingers chomped from feeding them incorrectly. It was a great, great place. definitely a late sept-oct staple for us now. read more

This place has an identity issue. Is it a zoo or a farm? This was our first and last time at Pumpkinville. What a rip-off AND dangerous. Pumpkinville seems like an afterthought to drive more business to their "zoo." The zoo consists of livestock though. It's really just a petting farm. The slides were not steep enough even for my 3 year old. Not done right. Also, they don't provide burlap sacks to ride on so your bum gets super dirty. The attendant offered me a rag to put my bum on to ride down. Seriously? How cheap. Anyways, my three year old went down the slide and stopped halfway but when he got up he fell right back down cuz the slide is still slick. The other smaller slide was faster but they didn't put enough of the slide stuff down so he rubbed his back against the gravel and got an "indian burn." The pirate skeleton contraception was NOT well attended. There was some pock-faced zombie girl just watching not helping kids rock climb up into the ship. Literally watched while the kids struggled. Parents had to help - literally she stood and watched with a blank expression on her face. Pumpkinville is just a bunch of moon bounces that they've put out. Nothing special. You are better off at Cox. Done so much more professionally. And at least they aren't pretending they are a zoo. Also, moms and dads are annoying. They cut in line, talk in loud, obnoxious baby voices. Don't go. read more

This has got to be one of the stupidest thing I've ever gone to. For starters, the parking lot was full and there were a bunch of people with orange flags waving them randomly without indicating where anyone should park. The parking lot was all muddy and my car almost got stuck. You have to pay a lot to get in and then pay for anything you want to do, like $5 for a 30-second pony ride, etc. The animals were all very dirty and in poor health. Some of them were bleeding from the head. The grounds were covered in animal shit. I had to rinse all of our shoes off when we got home because they were all caked in shit. The restrooms were the portable kind that remind me of a third-world country. There was very little to do - a few lame "moon bounce" thingies, a slide that lands you in dirt and hay, etc. I can't believe I went here. read more

We make a trip to Pumpkinville every October and find it to be a fun place for the family. Pros: cool animals, hay slides, wagon rides, free pumpkins Cons: can get a bit crowded on weekends (we went Columbus Day weekend), some if the decorations could be updated, only porta-potties available. Overall this is a great spot to hang out for outdoor family fun. read more

I agree with a few of the previous reviews. My two year old daughter and I went today. There was an extremely helpful attendant in with the turtles that talked to us and answered questions. Sadly enough, that was the most memorable part. We looked and pet a few of the other animals. This is far from a zoo though. They had cows, deer, sheep and a few bunnies in addition to the large turtles. So, not much of a zoo. After we spent 5 minutes looking at the animals in the "zoo," we went to the play area. This was pretty disappointing to say the least. They had three hill slides. On this occasion, they did have small burlap sacks to slide on. The bad part is that the slide leans a bit and so you bump into the hay barriers on the sides. After that we moved onto what seemed like a small tunnel with hay bale walls. Pretty simple but my daughter enjoyed the tunnel a bit. After going through the bales, you have to climb on scattered out an broken up hay bales to get out. Not a good idea for a small kid. After that, we made our way to some pirate looking rock climb into a treehouse looking thing. Again, not very kid friendly. There was a cheap slide attached to get down. One adult rode it down before his kid went down and I thought the slide was going to fall off. They also had bikes or trikes for kids to ride around. It was just a gravel circle with tires lining the outside. Again, underwhelmed. There was a football style bounce house that is usually used for kids to test their football skills by jumping and climbing over different things. I carried my daughter through and she got excitement. But again, not for really young kids. That while process took us about 30 minutes. Lesson learned. Not for real small kids. Only 3-4 "bounce houses." I'm glad I paid weekday price, which was probably still too much. I wouldn't really recommend this place. It is very thrown together last minute feel. I would go to Belvedere farms in Fredericksburg or Cox Farms. More professional and more fun. read more

Significant improvement from 2012... Like HUGE! Tons of stuff for all ages! I had a blast, and I am the parent! Yes, it is a bit expensive, but we could have easily stayed for 3+ hours without getting bored. Bring lots of snacks and baby wipes/wet ones-Concessions are a bit overpriced and the kids will get super dirty. Oh- and there are no bathrooms... Only portapotties. read more

Pumpkinville is great! The kids I babysit always seem to have a great time when I take them there. They have the animal park, animal RIDES! (I saw camel rides a couple times as well as their staple - pony rides), awesome food, bookstore tent, art tables where you can paint pumpkins and stuff. I saw a bunch of people do their fishing derbies where they fish for carp and catfish; on other days when you feed them, you can see a ton of them surfacing the water at the same time! We love the hay slide thing and seeing the lori's in the aviary. I think it's a great all-in-one trip for the kiddos! In response to the other people commenting about supervision and conditions, I didn't get the impression that they were under-staffed when I go but it's not a school in the sense that ratios have to be met anyways (I would think you should supervise your own kids while in the park).....they seem to make it as safe as they can and up to code. Any child can turn ANYTHING into something dangerous so you should probably think about whether you should have your child on that piece of equipment AFTER seeing if your child meets the basic requirements. Also, if it rains....it will probably get muddy.....so the hayrides will probably not be as scenic. There aren't a lot of places in the area like this that I know of, so that's why I gave it a 5 star! read more

My family had a great time at this fall festival last year and we look forward to going again this year. We normally go to Leesburg Animal Park during the year, which is great, but we had a great time at Pumpkinville. There are slides and apple cider and other fun farm activities for the kids to run around and do. It was nice to interact with the animals too and we just generally had a blast. I went to Pumpkinville last year and we definitely enjoyed it. We always get our pumpkin for Halloween from the festival and look forward to letting the kids run like crazy. There are a lot of activities and my kids went wild and were exhausted by the end of it, which I love. There was good food, big slides, entertainment, and farm/exotic animals to interact with. I used to live in Leesburg and we would visit Leesburg Animal Park several times each year. Now we've moved out to Arlington, but we still make it out for Pumpkinville. This is the best time of year to visit- there are a bunch of extra activities and freebies. Some of the decorations are outdated and it gets pretty crowded on Saturdays. The kids don't seem to notice though so I give it four stars. read more

Definitely not worth the drive! More of a petting hodgepodge farm with few additional "entertainment" features stuck to the side. I have noroblem with someone trying to make an income off a farm but at least must be reasonably organized, clean, we'll run. This isn't! My family comes every year to get our pumpkin and enjoy the festival. We love the animals and farm atmosphere as well the activities like the slides, wagon rides, swings and up close and personal with all the animals at the zoo. I would definitely recommend it. read more

We've been going to Pumpkinville for years and were stunned by how bad it was today (Sat. Oct. 15). The hayride was half its normal length and charmingly took us right next to a dumpster overflowing with garbage. There was mud underneath and next to several of the slides and climbing areas. The free cider was warm and had started to turn (tasted carbonated) and the entire park was dingy, dirty and run by a bunch of very surly people. For $13 a person on the weekend it was a complete ripoff. Never again. read more

The kids love this one! There is pumpkin decorating, moon bounces, a zip line and a bunch of other random stuff. Plus the petting zoo is open so there's that. $13 is pretty cheap considering it's northern Virginia. Will definitely return. read more

We had a great time at Pumpkinville! Very confused by the other reviews. The staff was very nice and the kids' activities were great. They loved the juggling show on Saturday afternoon, also. The free pumpkins and cider were a great addition to the day. We brought a picnic and had such an incredible family day! The animals were a fun addition to a regular fall festival. My kids love pumpkinville, I have a two year old and we could not get him out of the park, the rides, slides, and animals keeped us there the whole day. Even though it it took us 45 minutes to get there it was worth the trip. read more

I went there last weekend and had fun with the family. We loved petting all the animals and the farm atmosphere. There is a lot of activities for the kids to do like hill slides, wagon rides, and animal interaction. The line for the food service was too long though and we ended up waiting for 15 minutes to get a sandwich but other than that we had a great time. I would recommend it. read more
