I took my first pup to Stephanie before she moved to her current facility. Tyson earned his CGC certificate under her training. Jenna joined day care as soon as the facility at Kenwick was opened. Lilly and Courage started daycare as soon as they were adopted. The pups love coming here. I am especially impressed by the enrichment activities provided. It is hard to make time to take the pups to a group class, and the training that they receive during their weekly visit is a real help. The pups get their share of social interaction, play, some group and individual activities. Jenna took the Reactive Rover class and really benefitted from the training. Courage is taking her first Sidekick class. Lilly will join a class soon. The owner, Stephanie, and manager, Maggie and staff genuinely love dogs. My pups love them right back. I eagerly look forward to the report card for each of my pups at the end of their visit! Pup pup and Away has been amazing for my fear reactive blue heeler/lab puppy. We starting using their facility when she was five months old, and now three months later she is finally starting to be able to play with dogs without much assistance! They work very hard to help Lucy gain her confidence in people and in other pups. They did amazing to make sure Lucy never got too overwhelmed. I know with more time she will be a rock star! We utilized their play and train services, and will soon be using their Beta Program! We also took their Canine Sidekick 1 class and it was an awesome experience to teach us how to teach our dog. Loving PPA! My puppy Bexar started going to the socialization groups at about 9 weeks, then took the Power Puppy I class, and now goes to daycare a couple times a week. The socialization group really helped Bexar get out of her shell while also giving me peace of mind that we were in a safe environment for her. The Power Puppy I class was really helpful in applying commands in a new and distracting environment. I also love the daycare service. I know whenever I drop Bexar off that she will have a FULL day of fun, play, and enrichment. My favorite part is reviewing the report card at the end of her daycare days and getting to see how much fun she had through the pictures, videos, and trainer comments. The owner Stephanie and the trainers all seem to really care about the dogs' wellbeing, happiness, and training. Stephanie even called out Bexar's UTI before the vet did! Stephanie is a wonder! I met here through a Yelp Elite event and she actually helped me in the process of finding and adopting our new dog! His name is Rascal Samwise and he was the perfect addition to our family, especially in this crazy year we call 2020! She was patient with all the humans and explained everything well. She showed us and worked with us as a group and individually in the group classes. The women really knows her stuff! She was also very aware and cautious about COVID-19 and enforced masks and social distancing while supplying plenty of germ juice (hand sanitizer). We just finished the 6-week Canine Sidekick classes at Pup Pup & Away with our now 14-month old shihpoo.  It was a fantastic experience.  The three of us learned a lot!  Every week we would get an email right after class with a summary of what we learned along with homework assignments, instructions and links to fantastic videos. In the first few classes our 7-pound wonder-dog had a very hard time focusing.  She didn't accomplish much in the classes.  Miraculously though, she still took in enough of the training that when we would work with her at home she did beautifully.  On week 4 we worked on loose leash walking.  Maddie barely participated at all, though we tried and tried.  The next day she was very much improved on our walk and then on the next day we noticed a remarkable transition.  She has been an absolute joy to walk with on our twice a day walks since then.  She has learned to sit, lay down, stay, "leave it", spin and place.  We learned a lot about teaching her.  Last night was her "graduation".  She passed all of her skill tests and recieved a certificate.  I can honestly say that I was amazed and so very proud of how well she did.  Stephanie is an absolute treasure.  All of the dogs absolutely love her and they love learning from her.  She is truly gifted. My review for Stephanie at Pup Pup & Away is long overdue. I met Stephanie through a virtual Yelp event and knew I had to schedule a session with her for my 9 month old schnoodle. With virtual training becoming an option, I could now have a trainer (and fellow schnauzer lover!) from San Antonio guide me although I am all the way in New York. My first session with Stephanie was insightful and eye-opening. After thoroughly going over my concerns, she gave me lots of helpful tips, tricks, and exercises to practice with my pup, Gemma. We had to put our homework exercises on hold since Gemma was having some tummy issues (and training involves lots of treats!), but I can't wait to get back into our training once her issue resolves. My 6 month old puppy Susie just graduated the 6 week Sidekick class, AND SHE LOVED IT! (So did I!) She was timid on the 1st visit, but grew to love the Instructor and the space, she knew where we were going whenever I put her bed in the car, and she'd get the zoomies and be excited to go to school. The classtime was well balanced with tricks and behaviors to learn and practice, with enough mental rest time for the dogs so they don't go nuts trying so hard. The homework assignments were achievable and not overwhelming, but did help establish an at home training awareness to maintain beyond class. This review is specifically for their boarding services: Pup Pup & Away is hands down the best boarding facility we have EVER used. To use their boarding services they require a 2 day orientation where they spend time acclimating the dog to the facilities and staff and assessing their temperament. One out of two of our dogs "passed", meaning that they were eligible to participate in group daycare while they were boarded. Since one of our dogs did not pass they could still participate in boarding but would not be able to join in the group activities. At first I was a little hesitant about one of our dogs not being able to join in on group daycare, but despite that she still received lots of one on one attention and was walked multiple times a day (I believe it was 2 long walks and 4 short). The absolute best part of this place is that training is built in to their daily routine! I've never heard of any other facility that provides this and the difference is noticeable. At the end of each day a report card is completed giving a detailed summary of how their day went with photos and videos attached. All in all this is an incredible facility where our dogs were well taken care of. Everyone was super friendly and helpful throughout the orientation process and during their stay. We will absolutely be bringing our dogs back and will be looking into utilizing some of their other services. read more

I took my senior blue heeler there for her 2 day orientation to see if she could be boarded there, in the event I needed to go out of town. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. They are experienced with dogs -- even those who are extremely nervous, like mine. They made her feel comfortable and encouraged her which helps to improve her confidence. I cannot day enough good things about Stephanie and her Power Puppy course! (We just graduated today!) Prior to starting her classes, I researched area trainings, including popular training courses through major retailers, and Stephanie was the only one who not only let me sit in a class, but let me as as many questions as I wanted before committing. Investing that much time, money, and driving is difficult, so I wanted to make sure that I had the best fit for my pup. She was professional, gathered necessary paperwork to insure my pup was healthy and up to date on shots, provided "homework", and made sure the class was capped to ensure safety and attention in the class -- from humans and canines alike! Each class involved puppy play time, impulse control, and working on behaviors. What was so great and special about her courses was that Stephanie truly takes the time to educate us about WHY certain behaviors were happening, how we could improve, and how to understand our dogs behaviors and mannerisms so much better. I feel that in finishing this course, I have a well behaved pup BUT I also feel much more in control, knowledgeable, and confident when it comes to my pet. The people here know their stuff and are incredibly patient and professional. My almost 3-year old dog is a rescue and simply doesn't know how to play with others. Random things will trigger him and he'll snap. Other daycares let a lot of dogs run and play with minimal supervision, but PP&A makes sure there is a reasonable dog:trainer ratio and they are always watched. The staff here never make me feel bad for having a dog who is still learning how to socialize, and they make sure that he learns safely for other dogs as well as for him. In addition, they give a detailed report card with photos at the end of every single visit - that kind of personal touch is hard to find since so many daycares are so busy and overloaded! My German Shepherd, Gracie, started out in a puppy kindergarten daycare with Stephanie as one of the main trainers. Stephanie always had a smile, and communicated beautifully with both me and my puppy. I was very satisfied with the whole of the experience. Unfortunately, because of a bad case of car sickness for Gracie, and the puppy daycare was across town from us, she was only able to be a part of it for one week. But a few months later, when Gracie had gotten over her car sickness, I began looking for someone to help her with socialization among other dogs, something she missed out on earlier. At first, I asked at a place very near my home. But it was very hard to schedule, and it would have been a complicated process, with other requirements, like keeping Gracie there in a kennel for several hours outside of the 15 or 30 minute socialization time. Also, I wasn't invited to be a part of it. Without having anything else to compare that experience to, I figured maybe that's how these things might have to be. However, because of some scheduling difficulties before we got started there, I began to look elsewhere. Stephanie was across town from me, and so I didn't initially think of her. But once I did, everything fell into place, and Gracie and I had a wonderful experience with Stephanie. Oh, my goodness, Gracie was indeed frightened of other dogs at first, but Stephanie was up for the challenge. Slowly, but surely, with great patience and dedication, she helped Gracie to blossom around other dogs. And I got to be a part of it! Stephanie taught me right alongside Gracie. We had several sessions together, and I found Stephanie to be very easy to be around and to talk to. Not everyone loves dogs, and so it was always fun to be a part of those sessions, to be a part of Gracie's blossoming, and to freely share with Stephanie about our many interests in, and love for, dogs, ;-). Stephanie clearly loves what she does, and she handles working with both dogs and their humans equally well. Furthermore, she does so with a consistently welcoming and dedicated attitude. We had just finished the 6 week puppy class. My puppy passed the AKC "Canine Good citizen" test on the last day of the class as well. We are very satisfied with her class. Our puppy almost mastered basic manners. It is very important to us because my puppy is very active and big , so it helps prevent my puppy from hurting some one or destroying stuff in our home. Not only learning good manners in the class, but we also have great communication time with other puppies and their owners. Now, my puppy is okay to be touched by someone. She also always answers the questions we ask her clearly if our puppy has some issues at home. I don't know what I would do without Pup Pup and Away! Recently, Stephanie and her team have been a HUGE help with their Taxi Service. Sometimes I just can't make it in time to pick up Nacho from doggie day care, and I can schedule a ride for him with Pup Pup and Away, just like an Uber or Lyft ride for my sidekick. It's so easy to schedule a visit for walks and potty breaks, whether we're out of town or just staying late at the office. We took the group training class with Stephanie as well as a few private lessons. A 75 pound puppy needs manners, especially around his two 13 year old chihuahua brothers. All three of our dogs LOVE the Pup Pup and Away team, and I love getting their report cards and pictures after every visit.
