Cooper and his favorite dog trainer Dean, of Double D Dog Training!
    Jane N.

Can't recommend Double D Dog Training highly enough! It's been exactly a year since Dean trained our English Doodle puppy when he was only 8 weeks old. Loved the training in our own home since Cooper didn't have all his shots yet! we all loved Dean and looked forward to training day cuz it was so much FUN! We did Puppy and Advanced Training. Cooper is well behaved. Sits for pats, waits at the door/gate until told it's ok to go. Sits for passing cars and walks great on the leash. He doesn't react when the 3 barking dogs charge the fence on our walks. Thanks Double D for helping us set a great foundation and build an amazing relationship with our Coop Coop!

I couldn't be happier with Dean at Double D Dog Training! I enrolled my chihuahua, Princess, in the 4-session basic training class. Princess learned the commands sit, touch, look at me, wait & stay. During the 4 weeks, a friend was looking to rehome her chihuahua, Honey. I was happy to adopt Honey except for one problem: my sweet Princess was very reactive to other dogs. Double D introduced me to the Engage/Disengage game. After several "games" between Honey & Princess, it finally clicked for Princess. They are now the best of friends.....all thanks to Double D Dog Training!!

My family found Double D via google search. Our Morkie puppy needed some basic training and the fact that Dean travels to your residence was super convenient for our work schedules. We enrolled our pup, Charlie, into Double D's Basic Training 4-week course and we couldn't be happier with the results. With just one class every week for four weeks, Dean thought our pup how to sit, stay, wait, take it, leave it, look, touch, and even more; he completely transformed our high-energy girl into one that actually listens to us!! As Dean would say, it takes a lot of practice, so of course when we were not in class, we would regularly practice with Charlie every day, 2-3 times a day, for 5 minutes each time. She's a pro. We enjoyed Dean's help so much, we even enrolled Charlie in the Advanced Training classes where we go out to public places and reiterate all of the commands she learned in a "distracting environment"! Dean is very personable and you can tell he's extremely passionate about his career. Thank you so much, Double D!!!

    Graduation day!

We have seen night and day improvements with our two year old Chihuahua mix. He is a little man with a big personality and Dean helped us better understand him and his needs to be able to continuously work with him. We would get very nervous bringing him around new people and dogs in particular and now we are more confident in him. Dean is very knowledgeable and patient as we were all learning new habits for Bear. Bear will definitely miss his new friend Double D a.k.a. Mr. treat man. We really appreciate all the guidance with Bear

I cannot rave about Dean enough! His training has completely changed the way my dog Teddy behaves. Dean taught Teddy and I so much in just 4 training sessions. Dean listened to all my struggles/concerns with Teddy and started working with him when he was 10 months old. I worried it was too late and Teddy had already learned bad habits. However, I was so wrong. I saw a huge difference after practicing a few things Dean showed us during the first session. With positive reinforcement and consistent practice at home, Teddy was finally listening and dropping bad habits. My favorite thing is that you can see just how passionate Dean is about training dogs. He loves it and truly wants to help them do their best! Dean's prices are unbeatable for training that is tailored to your dogs needs. It was so helpful to have him in my home to see how Teddy acts and how our home is set up. Dean was great at communicating and frequently texted to check in on Teddy. I felt so comfortable knowing I could text any time I had questions or issues. I cannot recommend Dean's training services enough!!!

We used Dean & Double D Dog Training to help us with our 7 month old Blue Heeler Shepherd mix, Benny. Our initial goal was to get Benny some basic training and manners, so we can get him into agility and intermediate training. Dean was so patient and encouraging to help us positively reinforce Benny in his training. By the end of our four sessions of Obedience Training, Benny completed sit, stay, lay down, wait, shake, leave it, walked calmly on a leash, AND off to stop jumping on us. We were so happy with the results, that we followed up and did another 4 sessions of the Advanced Obedience Training. Dean was very accommodating in meeting us and helping us socialize Benny at dog parks, and the Pearl as well. We had so much fun with Dean and his training, and Benny can't wait to see him again!

My 5 year old husky shepherd mix, Remi, has always been nervous around men and I felt I was losing control of her so my mom gave me Dean's number. We just completed our 4th obedience class this morning and I'm beyond impressed with Remi's progress with both Dean and her training. She struggled the first day with a strange man near her, but she has a new BFF today in Dean. I never thought much about obedience training but the skills Dean gave us has given both Remi and I more confidence and I have a lot more control with her. I 100% would recommend Double D Dog training and I intend to use these new training skills daily with both Remi, and my 11 year old poodle mix who doesn't like rules. Even she has benefit from Doube D Dog Training. Practice definitely makes perfect, and I am thrilled to continue practicing and using these training skills in the future. Thanks Dean!

Dean was also very reassuring that a lot of what we have experienced with our Henry was normal puppy behavior.

While staff were friendly, the program felt largely misrepresented to us. In October 2024, we enrolled our two dogs (8 y/o + 2 y/o) in a 4-week board-and-train program specifically to address resource guarding. Both dogs had a history of resource guarding, which we had managed successfully, but the behavior had recently escalated and we wanted professional support. We were assured multiple times that resource guarding would be addressed through individualized obedience training. Communication during training was limited. We had to initiate contact, and updates generally indicated that the dogs were doing well. No concerns were raised to us about their behavior or suitability for the program. Upon returning home, our younger dog appeared extremely fearful and hesitant, taking nearly 15 minutes to approach us despite reassurance. During the "live demo," commands like "place" were enforced with excessive e-collar corrections. The dogs seemed confused, stressed, and did not appear to have any understanding of the commands being given. Bad manners, like jumping, were still present even during this session. When we asked how resource guarding had been addressed, the sole reason we signed up, the trainer said, "We never saw this behavior ourselves, so it wasn't addressed," without further elaboration. The dogs displayed resource guarding behaviors during this session, and she instructed us to "just use the e-collar whenever they do something you don't want," which directly contradicted advice from the manager that punishing guarding could significantly worsen it. When we raised concerns multiple times both during this session and afterward, we generally felt dismissed and were told for a long time to "let them adjust" before seeking more training. Our youngest began frequently urinating in her crate, a behavior she had never displayed before. When we asked about this, we were recommended to see a vet. They did offer another training session, but we ultimately felt it was not the right decision to continue with them. A veterinarian confirmed her urination was stress-related, consistent with the behaviors we noticed during the return session. She has since required daily anti-anxiety medication for fear-based behaviors that arose immediately after she returned home. Over a year later, their obedience is unchanged from before the program, and we have had to cope with long-term stress and anxiety for our dogs. We spent about $5,000 on a program that failed to address our primary concern and left lasting negative effects on us. We don't recommend this business and encourage anyone seeking professional training to choose a trainer whose approach is tailored to their dogs' specific needs and training goals.

We were able…read moreto plan their training program around a family trip and their pick up and drop off was so convenient. Their communication was quick and super kind. Hilary picked up our pup Monica and then Aubry, who was a significant part of Monica's training, dropped her off and showed us how to handle our pup now that she has learned her manners. Monica doesn't bark unnecessarily, and knows how to stop barking when asked. She does not run out of the house when I'm unloading groceries. And the craziest thing, she doesn't steal my toddlers food from the coffee table. Walking on a leash without pulling is another miracle she learned while in the care of All Dogs Unleashed. Their program was worth every penny and I wish we did it sooner!

I asked one of the workers, he was a male with a beard he had curly blondish white hair, I asked him if I could see the cat and he responded, Well, are you interested in adopting? and I said maybe I'm not sure yet. Then he says you can only see the cats if you're committed to adopting. I'm thinking to myself how am I supposed to know if I want to adopt this cat if I can't even touch it or hold it or play with it? How am I supposed to know if I want a cat through a glass screen? As soon as he said that to me, I walked out. This is not only unfair to customers, but also unfair to the kittens who deserve to be played with and get attention in love. This worker is prohibiting cats from getting adopted plain as that. this worker was also a more heavyset guy and he needs to be fired. Someone please identify him. This is totally unfair to customers and especially the kittens that are looking for new homes. This is not even allowing them the chance to get adopted. People might just come in and see cats and fall in love with a cat without even wanting to adopted first. Fix this system! I just hope these cats get adopted through a fair process! Fix it. keep in mind this is never happened to me before and I come to petsmart all the time. I even adopted my cat from a different petsmart. it is the employee's fault. Fire him he is stopping animals from getting adopted.
