    Welcome to Puppetworks.
    Joel H.

I have never been to a formal puppet show like this. We went with my 4 1/2 year old granddaughter and 1 1/2 year old grandson. This was a delightful experience for both of them even though the young one would get up and wonder from time to time. It's a small store front and charming little puppet theater. There is an admission charge for both children and adults. Even at this late date they were requiring masks. I have no problem with a little extra safety. Many people were not wearing the masks but holding them in their hand. The children sat in front on a padded floor while the adults sat on bleachers and benches. Once of the puppeteers came out prior to the show and explained what we were all about to see. Convenient but not the most comfortable. The walls are decorated with puppets... lots and lots of puppets. Definitely there to get everyone in the mood. The three shows they put on were delightful and the children really enjoyed them. The puppeteers are very talented and you can see the effort that goes into these productions. All the productions lasted about an hour. I am glad that I had the opportunity to come here and watch my grandchild enjoy the experience. I am sure I will get another opportunity to come back and I welcome the chance. KUDOs to the team here at Puppetworks.

I visited Puppetworks recently for a children's birthday party and even though I had 20+ years on most of the viewers, I think I enjoyed it just as much if not more! The venue was booked as a private event for a "screening" of Beauty and the Beast. Foam mats are laid out on the floor for children to get an up-close and personal view of the show in addition to some small benches and of course adult friendly bleachers and benches along the walls. One of two puppet masters gave us a warm introduction, pointing out all the many marionettes surrounding the top of the entire room, and explaining, in a child friendly way, the way puppetiring works. After his introduction, the show proceeded, roughly 20 minutes, with applause and photos with the stars following the production. The story itself was true to the classic Grimm's Fairytale, which captivated the audience in a new and exciting way. The production was wonderful, it's not often you get to appreciate the art of a puppet mastering, but it is truly an extraordinary art form and one that young and old alike can appreciate. From the intricate details of the puppet itself to the voices of the puppet master and movements of multiple puppets at one time, it was a performance I would be happy to sit through again.

The puppet shows are wonderful!!! There is a mat on the floor where most kids sit to watch the show & even the adults. The kids really enjoy the magic of it and it's great when a puppet master comes out after the shows and greets the kids with a marionette in hand. It is a small place with limited comfortable seating. If you have a bad back, perhaps the one side bench would be good since it is against the wall. The mats are usually very dirty from a previous show& they come apart like puzzle pieces. The place needs to be renovated as everything is outdated, but I really like seeing all the marionettes on the wall. The bathroom is small&dirty& needs tlc...parking is difficult and it is cash only...

Daunting array of marionettes and albeit from the outside it looks not well maintain it's beyond the point, especially when the curtain draws! This is a truly amazing asset for families in the area and the lessons children receive in regards to the classics cannot be matched anywhere around. If only every kid had such an option...

I've been here twice with my daughter and we've had a good time both times. Great show to watch with kids in a world of electronics. It's entertaining and fun. The puppeteers are very skilled. My only complaint is the floor seating in the front. My butt hurts afterwards!

Puppeteer letting the children see and touch a marionette. Lovely

Downstairs, they host comedy shows and other performances, which makes it such a fun multipurpose hangout. People usually grab a drink and chill upstairs while waiting for their show to start, and it creates this really nice, social energy without feeling chaotic. Overall, Union Hall is a quaint neighborhood staple, great drinks, fun games, and a little bit of that old-school local charm. Perfect for a casual night out or something a little different from the usual bar scene.

The choreography was terrible because it seemed like the dances were made up on the spot except for one of the dancers who seemed to have a dancing background but not even that could save this show that was overly-priced. I wish I could ask for my $45 back but at last, this was a lesson to me to not go to anything that doesn't have any reviews because I have a feeling that they would have been all one-stars. The theater itself was very disorganized and had chairs set very closely to each other in what was the orchestra area. The stage itself looked like it belonged in a middle school and the balcony sets were too close to one another. For a cool $60 puppet (and a whole bunch of Muppet) enthusiasts get together for an afternoon of learning how to sculpt a puppet from foam. This idea may sound simple enough, but it includes sturdy foam blocks, knives of various sizes, scissors, sand paper, permanent markers, pastels, and some creativity on behalf of each participant. Come with an idea (a photo or sketch) in mind and Kevin (the master artist and creative director) expertly guides you through the rest. The session is slated for 3.5 hours, but time flies when you're having fun! In fact, I would have preferred another hour with time to decorate my creation - being able to add fur, hair, etc. would have been a bonus. However, I'm confident I can spruce up my Jersey girl puppet BrookeLynne with an old Snookie Halloween wig and some false eyelashes. I'm strongly considering going to another session and being a little more creative with what I sculpt. The animals all turned out fantastically! Go. Register for a workshop now.

I stated that I didn't want a refund, I just wanted the services I already paid for and wanted to schedule a future class. I was told that Lone Wolf had tried re-scheduling in the past and that it was a "Problem" for them, I was offered a discount of $15 on a future class. I asked how they can remember me and give me a discount but they couldn't remember that I'd already paid? It ended with me not getting a class scheduled and being out $65. Nowhere on their website does it state that you cannot re-schedule a class. Only that you can't get a refund. Big difference. In their defense, I canceled late so they could not fill the spot I left. In my defense, I booked that spot late the day before, so that spot wasn't getting filled anyway and they still had my money if I went or not.
