Our consult was with Nance, and she was very patient in explaining the process and talking us through some initial things that we were struggling with. Then, we started with a training package that included 3 private training classes and 2 months of group obedience classes. We also went to a few puppy kindergarten classes. Nicole did the majority of our trainings and she has been a god-sent. She is very good with the dogs, and her energy level makes the training classes fun both for us and our dog. We learned a lot from Nicole and she helped us to feel a lot less stressed out and actually enjoy the puppyhood. The obedience class is set up like a monthly subscription, where you can go to as many classes as you want. We end up going about 3-4 times a week for 30 minutes, as it is a great activity to mentally exercise our dog and provide socialization while working alongside other dogs. We also started bringing our dog to their dog day camp 2x a week. Tim was also very patient in explaining the process. The dog day camp has been great in getting her to play with other dogs and allows her to learn obedience from others aside from us.

It's remarkable to see the progress that they make with her and how much they enjoy their training sessions! Nance adapts her training sessions to the needs of the individual dog and she is quick to assess how they learn best. She is always patient, kind, and encouraging. We are so lucky to have her expertise, she has changed the lives of so many dogs!

You'd think when you book an appointment, show up on time that they would put your dog on the table and start with the nail trim and wash. No as I walked out the door almost closed behind me I hear "put her in the cage" So Instead of leaving I waited knowing I was going to get a phone call. Not 5 minutes later "could you come pick her up" hmm I wonder why? I said not to put her in a cage, but that was flown over their heads because they do not care. I highly recommend you take your dog somewhere else because this place is a joke. I typically use a mobile groomer but he was unavailable, I thought this would have been a quick easy service but was not. Hire people that are capable of their jobs. I've never booked an appointment to get my hair cut where I had to go wait in a cage. I'm sat down right away because I booked the hair dresser for a specific time like I did for my dog. Do better!!! And no where on your website says that they go in cages.

We recently adopted a new puppy (Nala) to keep our 3 year old Golden doodle (Augie) company…read more Although the two dogs are siblings from different litters, they didn't immediately take to being together. Unlike Augie, who was always sweet and extremely mellow even as a puppy, Nala bit us in the face, barked, destroyed things in our home and terrorized Augie to the extent that he would run away from her. We weren't sure we could keep her because she was so badly behaved and seemed untrainable. In the span of 3 weeks, David transformed Nala from a challenging puppy into a dream puppy. She obeys all the commands, walks off leash in our wooded neighborhood, sleeps hours later than when she left and most importantly she is able to play well with Augie who now seeks her out and willingly allows her even to sleep in his own bed. David sent dozens of videos so we could watch her while she was in training and learn the language she was learning from David. He kept in contact and was even able to drop her off and meet our other dog for a walk with Nala. Without Massachusetts Dog Training, we would likely have given our wonderful puppy away and never realized what a gem we had. David helped to uncover Nala's true potential and helped us to realize how smart, sweet and special she is. We will be forever grateful for his wisdom, expertise and love for our Nala.

On the very first day with David, he was already playing calmly with other dogs, something I never thought I'd see. David kept me updated every step of the way, sending daily videos that showed my dog's progress, which gave me so much peace of mind. When he came home, he could finally walk on a leash without pulling (a major win for a husky owner!) and he no longer jumps on guests the second they walk in the door. Now, he greets people calmly and listens better than ever. It honestly feels like I have a brand new dog. He is happier, more obedient, and much more social. I'm beyond grateful for David's help and would absolutely recommend him to anyone looking for a professional, compassionate, and highly effective dog trainer. He truly works wonders!

Two weeks later (based on weather and availability) the installers came out and confirmed where we wanted the wires installed. Everything was quick, clean and professional with minimal disruption to the lawn. Linda came a few days later and worked with the dogs for an hour or so each day for a week to help the dogs understand their new boundaries and adjust the sensitivity in the collars. The dogs are now able to go out as they please and never leave the boundaries! Linda was wonderful and the DogWatch product works great. The collars are waterproof and the batteries last 2-3 years and we were give enough batteries to last 10 years! Couldn't be happier.

We live on 2.5 acres out here in the 'burbs. It's been ten years since our last Golden Retriever…read more Jack was born just before Thanksgiving. I got the text from our great friend Donna the breeder. "Your birthday present just arrived!" The day after Thanksgiving I was introduced to Jack. One of four to Emma and Stewart ..mother and father and their first litter. Jack was picked out just for me. I like to think he was the pick of the litter, but somedays I just think how lucky I am. Now, with our last dog Jesse he was fenced in and had a good run of the yard in his latter years. But, Jack being a puppy had me thinking, he needed more space, and frankly fences are nice but I just find them to also be unsightly when you have a great property. So what to do? I need to make a decision quick as Jack has just hit 4 months when the process begins. All the puppy rearing books warn me about 4 to 8 months. They become obstinate, don't listen, wander, and well we just can't have that. Plus the town I live in has a leash law. The dilemna more than the fence is the access of wildlife to our yard with a fear of coyotes wandering by or in. We have coyotes, deer, skunks, a pain in the ass ground hog, and fisher cats ( a terribel nocturna creature that scares the crap out of you when then growl/scream/threaten..whatever. It becomes clear for $1100 that I can give Jack run of the yard almost 85% of it for cheap. The system was put in in less than 2 hours; wired; fired up and beeping in no time at all. As far as the critters, well we just will be careful at night. Besides, he likes to sleep. Then comes training! Our trainer/installer grabs a green 3' stick, Jack's new Green Hidden Fence collar, and his new green leash. Suited up Jack now takes a tour of the yard with the trainer as he goes to every other little white 2' tall flag around the perimeter of the property. The trainer woudl tap the flag and say "no no no!" Move to another one "no no no Jacky!" Jack cocked his head and seemed concerned about these flags. Now it was time for me to move to the other side of the electric fence (no more than 4" underground." Jack wanted to come to me but he was slowly restrained so he could hear the beeping sound as he approaced 10' from the "fence." The setting dialed in at #2 on a 5 scale was then tested as he was allowed to experiment. Zap! One 1/2 flip in the air and the look on his faced really hurt me. I was devastated. But I kept saying and thinking this will be good. Next we move on to another section of the yard. Same thing, but he wants nothing to do with the white flags as he hears "no no no." A couple of days go by as Jack and I leave for the Cape. We drive back into the yard; collar back on; and he immediately runs through the fence to see the neighbors dog induring the quick jolt of current and yet to fall into her affectionate paws. Slightly frustrated I bring him back, but you might think I get zapped too. No no no! I take his collar off and throw the bloody thing over to our side of the yard and carry him across and we begin the "no no no" all over again. Works great. Nice people. Undisciplined owner..me.

I grew up in Hudson and left at 18 vowing never to come back. I lived all over the world,…read morecollecting dogs in my travels, and moved back to Hudson at the beginning of the summer with my now husband and 2 dogs. We work A LOT so I was blowing through dog walkers and dog sitters left and right. My dogs are small. They're sweet. They're emotional. They require some patience and tenderness that I was sure I was never going to find in a dog walker/pet sitter. I have an irrational obsession with both of my dogs -- I found one in kennel in South Korea, sick and abused. The other we got at another shelter and she is vivacious and social when comfortable, but often uncomfortable. They sleep in the bed. Eat salad. You get it. I'm crazy, my dogs live well and I want them to always live well. My husband told me a few weeks after moving to Lake Boon that there was a dog daycare on our street, 3 houses down. I thought he was seeing things. I had spent the entire summer interviewing, hiring and being disappointed by dog walkers/pet sitters. "She hid under the couch so I didn't walk her" "he didn't eat... last meal was 3 days ago. is that ok?" On and on. So, there was NO WAY there was a pet sitter on my street. And my husband now can say "this is the one meaningful, useful thing I have contributed to our relationship" - he found the BEST dog sitters ever! 5 doors down. We recently traveled internationally and for the first time ever, I gave my dogs to someone who doesn't share half my DNA. This was not easy. We are back now and my dogs are so happy and I can tell they have been happy since we were gone. I know they missed us but they were SO well cared for. They slept in beds. They snuggled. They played. They walked. They got individual attention - they were cared for as well as I would care for them and that is soooooo perfectly wonderful. You all are fantastic and we thank you so much! I feel like I'm leaving my dogs with... myself away from myself. Does that make sense? Maybe not. Do not hesitate to contact Nancy for all your pet care needs.
