When we adopted our puppy, Ellie, at 14 weeks old, we were so overwhelmed. We went to a consult at life is dog. Our consult was with Nance, and she was very patient in explaining the process and talking us through some initial things that we were struggling with. Then, we started with a training package that included 3 private training classes and 2 months of group obedience classes. We also went to a few puppy kindergarten classes. Nicole did the majority of our trainings and she has been a god-sent. She is very good with the dogs, and her energy level makes the training classes fun both for us and our dog. We learned a lot from Nicole and she helped us to feel a lot less stressed out and actually enjoy the puppyhood. The obedience class is set up like a monthly subscription, where you can go to as many classes as you want. We end up going about 3-4 times a week for 30 minutes, as it is a great activity to mentally exercise our dog and provide socialization while working alongside other dogs. We also started bringing our dog to their dog day camp 2x a week. Tim was also very patient in explaining the process. I volunteer at the animal shelter Save a Dog in Sudbury and Nance has been helping us train some of our more challenging dogs. It's remarkable to see the progress that they make with her and how much they enjoy their training sessions! Nance adapts her training sessions to the needs of the individual dog and she is quick to assess how they learn best. She is always patient, kind, and encouraging. I wish I could leave a positive review. I wanted to use them for my puppy, but was rejected for both training and day camp. For training they referred me to All Dogs Gym & Inn in NH back in April of '23, & referred me to GoldenPaws for daycamp. They never even met my dog, not once. Made no effort to meet him. Just gave us an excuse about size and referred us elsewhere. Like most places, LID requires answering a questionnaire. Though your questionnaire is lengthy, it does not give full insight to a dog. If you have a large size dog, this is not the place for you. read more

Whether you're looking for dog training or doggie day camp, I can't recommend Life is Dog enough! As someone else here on yelp said--if I could give them 10 stars I would...but Yelp limits it to five! We started taking our pup to training at Life is Dog when she was about five months old, in the fall of 2019. We had gone through an eight-week puppy class before that--the kind that meets once a week--but we were looking for something more and had heard really good things about Life is Dog. Perhaps the biggest benefit--they operate like a gym membership. There's a flat monthly fee, and it's up to you how many classes you attend. Training is all about consistency--one class per week isn't necessarily going to work! We usually attend 3-5 classes per week with our pup. And as the dogs progress through the "levels" they encourage you to keep going to lower level classes so your dog will continually be exposed to new humans and puppies and become and all around well-adjusted pooch (and learn to do the same tricks with new distractions around!) This is great on multiple levels--not only are newly learned skills being constantly reinforced, but the pups get so much have exposure to other dogs for socialization--something that was really key for us as the winter set in and we knew outdoor meet ups would be few and far between. The owners really care about the animals and about making sure you have all the tools you need to shape your pup's personality. One time, one of the owners (Nance) recommended that I take my dog for walks with another dog/dog mom in class--my dog is very self-confident but at the time wasn't a great loose leash walker, while the other dog was afraid of her own shadow but the best loose leash walker ever. They'd learn from each other on such walks, Nance said. It's just one small example of how Life is Dog goes out of its way to enrich your pup's life. Our girl also goes to puppy camp at Life is Dog three days a week - she is a Dalmatian and has endless energy...so having her play hard in a controlled setting with pups that are now her friends has been so great for us as well as her! The workers there are absolutely the best. It really is a unique community of pup-lovers and I am so glad we found it! Again, I can't recommend Life is Dog enough. read more

lly can't say enough about Dana, Nancy and the rest of their team. We were desperately looking for options for our 4 month berner, and we stumbled across Life Is Dog, Inc - and we are so glad we did.The first conversation I had with Dana put me totally at ease; she explained how puppy day care worked - including the fact that they really only take 'regulars' so that the dogs get to know each other over time and they aren't introduced to new dogs every day. She arranged for my partner and I to meet Nick and Matt, the guys that pick up/drop off every day, and they were wonderful. We were nervous about our pup's first day, and we were pleasantly surprised to get regular updates and photos throughout the day from the staff at the daycare (shout out to steph!), relieving our anxiety immensely. These guys are so organized about everything from their programming, pick up/drop off schedules, to their invoices - and they have a range of other services we are looking forward to trying as well, like training classes. Life is Dog is run by a team that loves dogs! The trainers are equipped with the education needed to understand and teach all types of breeds, behaviors, ages and teach us new pet owners how to be good dog parents. The establishment is clean and roomy. There is outdoor space for the doggy day camp and the dogs love being there. My puppy and I did two levels of obedience training and learned so much. Saw the bad reviews and wanted to give them a chance- worst experience ever! Looks nothing like the photos, bad treatment, horrible experience overall! My dog peed for 2 minutes right after coming right out of their daycare program! The whole reason we got daycare was so we could have our dog use the bathroom and get CARED for while we are away, clearly not here! They shove all the dogs into small indoor play areas for who knows how long. They gave us no information after dismissing our dog, and kept giving us the run around. It is impossible to get any actual answers, I would NOT trust them with your dog! read more

My puppy came to them as a very anxious pup due to no socialization during pandemic. Through training and puppy camp he has made great strides and now plays well with other puppies. He used to be anxious to go into camp but now runs to all the staff. I recommend them for day camp and training. read more

Truly amazing! Nance and Courtney do an unbelievable job in what they do. They make sure they provide the best care for your dog! They have been with us since our puppy was 8 weeks old, now he is 4 months old and I could not ask for better care. We were lucky to be assigned to Meredith as our walker who does such a great job in training our dog and he loves it when she comes to visit him during the week! I would rate zero if I could. We were dumped as clients with zero notice and told they no longer wanted to care for our senior pup and 11/2 year old puppy. We had the means to help our senior dog walk, she had accidents every now and then - what aged dog doesn't? If you are considering this company and have older dogs, I highly recommend looking elsewhere - they have no compassion for animals in the golden years who need a little extra help. Owners are extremely judgmental and very selective about what services they want to provide. The troubling part is every single note they left in regards to our puppy had rave reviews from the dog walker - we were told they had no interest in walking him since they no longer wanted to care for our senior dog. read more

Courtney has given me ideas and posted ideas to help me with training my puppy, helped me administer medication, and helped my pup getting over his fears after he got hit by a car. Very glad we found Life is Dog for cat sitting! Handing over control of your pets and your home to strangers is nerve-wracking, so we greatly appreciate that Nance, the owner, approaches pet sitting as a business, not just a hobby - she's bonded, insured, does background checks and more. She is incredibly professional, and so is her staff. Brittany watched our cats and did a great job - the cats, even our shy ones, warmed up to her quickly. Brittany sent us photos and a text update daily, which we were always excited to see! Plus we left lots of instructions, and she was careful to follow them.
