It has lost its touch - food is so-so and service is poor. It's been a while since the food hit the spot and since the service was worth the hassle of inadequate parking. I prefer to visit other restaurants but when they're packed, I've come here due to convenience and custom... but that's not likely to happen, again. Today was the last time I was willing to give this business a shot at changing my opinion And they failed from their behavior towards other customers, their behavior towards me, and the food they provided. It was not worth the amount I spend and the time I traveled to that difficult location.

In the bathroom and I had some open the door cuz of this

There was a betel trying to eat me alive and the door handle was missing to the bathroom

Bean and cheese papusa

Three and half star. Yes, pupusas are great. I tried bean/cheese pupusas and salvadorian plant/cheese pupusas. The 2nd one didn't have strong flavor of plant but it does have interesting nice flavor. Something different from usual pupusas. Fried plantain with soft-milky filling was interesting too. Another one I tried was Nuegados con chilate (fried light hollow ball w/sugar syrup and corn porridge). I didn't know how to combine corn liquid (porridge) to the rest .. corn liquid wasn't sweet.. oh well.. experiment. I didn't like tamale much though.. It was a bit denser than I thought. I like fluffy and a bit sweet tamale, and only chicken tamale.. Very friendly service and good sitting area inside.

Fried plantains with refried beans and salvadorian sour cream.

Best pupusas in Silver Spring !! Don't let the location discourage you. Hard to park but worth the challenge of getting there.

I would describe them as a combination of classic and elevated Latin food. The vibe of the restaurant is very casual, but the presentation of many of the dishes takes it to another level. They also have a wide selection of beer and wine. I have had tacos, octopus, breakfast tacos, and tamales. Everything was flavorful and quite tasty. I will admit service was a little slow the last time I went, but given the weather and the fact that we weren't in a rush it wasn't a big deal. If you haven't been yet, you should go. The colorful presentation reminds me of Palette 22, and rumor has it they are expanding to the Ethiopian restaurant that closed next door. I hope that's true!

Could work on those fried plantains as they were a little soggy. The quinoa salad was good, a bigger portion would have been nice for the price paid and maybe if it would be easier to eat if served in a bowl. The chorizo sandwich was okay. Presentation and bread could be better. We left curious about their regular menu so we may give it a try some other time. Their staff were nice but not very knowledgeable about their menu items. They didn't really know how to answer my question about their vegan tres leches and told me it was not actually vegan after indicating it had condensed milk and heavy cream.

Since I'm working near La casita, I decided to give the pupusas a try and I gave it a 5 stars because I love how their pupusas are evenly made. They are so perfect! This is my second time purchasing some. I will be back and recommended to people this place.

I ordered three chicken and cheese pupusas, and they were a great size. I was nearly full after the first two. The flavor was on point. My apologies for my photo because I was already halfway through my third pupusa before I remembered to snap a picture. I also tried the corn tamale, which my wife and I enjoyed a lot. On top of that, I ordered a steak taco, which unfortunately didn't make it into a picture either because I ate it too fast. What stood out to me was the "shell." Instead of the usual flour or corn tortilla, it uses the same masa dough as the pupusa, and I really enjoyed that difference. We finished our meal with the nuegados en miel dulce, something I had never tried before. I was glad I did because it was delicious and a great way to end the meal. Overall, the food and experience were excellent. If you are like me and rely on Yelp reviews to decide where to eat, I highly recommend giving La Casita Pupuseria & Market a visit. You will be well pleased like I was.

The restaurant is located on the second floor of a "random" building, so it might be a bit difficult to find unless you are in the know. Although there were not many folks during my visit, the restaurant gives off a very strong Colombian flare. I originally stopped by to get a drink, but I ended up trying the caserito, which was sort of a combo meal. This meal included a delicious soup, a beer filet, beans, rice, and a small salad. It was quite the meal for only $14 bucks. I do not remember the name of the bean-based soup, but it was out of this world delicious. For $14 bucks, I thought the portions were quite generous. The service was pretty good. Since the bartender/waitress did not speak much English, dining here gave me the perfect opportunity to practice my Spanish. I definitely hope to return in the near future to try more items off of the menu and maaaaybe sing karaoke.

Service was on point. My waitress made me feel welcome. She was polite and attentive. The only problem that you may encounter is parking. The restaurant doesn't have parking. You just have to find parking on the side of the street or a small public parking behind the restaurant.
