This girl is amazing! To me and my family, memories are so Important to capture. I can't say enough about Amanda and her talent. She's able to capture the perfect shots, to know what's working in a shoot and what's not. She's warm, patient and gentle. She makes your shoot fun and comfortable. Amanda even makes casts of your little ones hands and feet! Her prices are super reasonable, she gives you tons of edited photos electronically. They are yours to do what you want with! She has done maternity, Christmas, newborn, mom and me, fall shoots and just did ones of my daughter (9 months)- she's the one on her tummy in the pink dress with the pearls. I have been thinking a lot over the past 9 months about what I wanted to say about the service that we received. I will start by saying that Amanda is very friendly and outgoing, and that we had no problems in studio except that we did not have a choice about colours or backgrounds for the Newborn Package 2. Also, we were told that our package did not cover certain sets, so I just went along with what she said because she's the "professional". When we left, I forgot to ask about the turn around time so I sent her a FB message 5 days later (that was our means of communication previously) because my mom asked me to check; my mom was very excited to see photos of her first grandchild. I was sure to say that I did not expect the photos right away, I just wanted to know the timeline. I did not receive a response so 10 days after the last message (15 days after the shoot) I sent another message just asking about the timeline...still not expecting to receive the photos. She did not respond to us, instead 2 days later I received the photos and she did not touch up anything that she said she would. My poor beautiful baby had peeling skin and redness. I do not like to give bad reviews and looking back at the photos, it makes me so sad that Amanda did not try to provide a finished product. I thought that I was choosing a good package based on the number of photos and time in studio, I did not think that it would affect the quality of the work that I would receive. I waited for awhile before commenting, thinking that I was being too picky, but even now, almost nine months later, I am so sad that we weren't able to capture our newborn properly. I thought that if I booked a follow up session, then I could discuss my concerns in person and maybe she would fix her work. We booked on the 26 Sept for a 19 Nov session. On the 27 Oct, she advised me that she doesn't do follow up session on those days. Suffice to say, I would highly recommend going elsewhere. UPDATE: Since posting the above review, I reached out to discuss my displeasure because I hate giving negative reviews. She threatened legal action if I do not remove my review and insulted the looks of my baby. STAY AWAY she is very unstable. I could not believe the comments made. I have never written a review like this or shared it publicly on Facebook but this is necessary to save other people from having the same experience. First off, Purdy is very capable of doing nice work. When our daughter was born 3 years ago we went to her to get a shadow box made of our daughters hand and foot impressions. We were very happy with the finished product and so when we saw the same deal recently I shared it with my mother in law who bought it for us as a baby gift. She also bought a certificate for my sister in law who was also expecting. When I looked at the certificate it said it was for 30 minutes of pictures and a shadow box. I wanted to get family pictures done so I told Purdy this and she asked for extra money which we happily paid to her. The day we went for pictures almost the first thing out of her mouth was her new marital status and how she was going through a divorce. It was pretty awkward but we ignored it. When we were leaving her house she said that the shadow box would be at least 8 weeks as she was taking her husband to court (TMI but again we ignored it and said that's fine). When 9 weeks came I messaged her to see when we could expect the box. She said "by the end of the week for sure" (this was August 27). So when I had not heard anything from her I messaged her again September 12th. I did not receive a response so my husband decided to try. He messaged her on what he thought was her professional page because it said "Amanda Purdy Impressions" but it was actually her personal page (honest mistake). His message was very polite and professional and his response from her was "lol slightly inappropriate". He was so confused and as he was writing a response she blocked him. 16 days later from my last message she tells me that my husband is Facebook stalking her and then says the box will be done that weekend (this was a Saturday so we were expecting it by the next day). Again that day came and no box. A week later she said the box was done. We were very happy to hear this as at this point we were thinking we would never receive a product as at this point we googled her and she had done something similar in the past. When I went to pick it up on her porch in a Sobey's bag with a tons of holes I realized it was not at all what we had asked for and discussed the day we went to her house. It was supposed to be painted a distressed grey. Instead we got an unpainted box, the hand and foot imprints were done hastily and you could see the glue she used to attach them in several areas. The box was so far from what we had received the first time that I was in a bit of shock. She saw me sitting in my car examining the box and opened the door and "gave me a thumbs up". I got out of my car to tell her that no it was not a "thumbs up" and I was not happy with the finished product and showed her all the reasons why. She volunteered to paint the box but said it would take a "long time" and I was not about to give it back to her in case we never saw the imprints again. When I got home she was messaging me asking to see the gift certificate and at this point we were done dealing with her. We asked for her not to contact us again. Her response was (Crying face, kissing face) then a couple days later after she must have found the certificate she accused me of being dishonest and that I got more pictures than the certificate stated. She also said "I implore you to put a bad review". I reminded her of us giving her more money for the extra pictures and sent her a screen shot of the convo. As I am writing this review my husband is redoing the shadow box after we bought new materials. We are just relieved that we have the imprints to be able to do this as we could never go back in time and get them redone of our son at 7 days old. Please spare yourselves the stress and do your own due diligence before book anything with Purdy Impressions. read more

Amazing Photos. We booked a new born session with her back in July. She captured a lot of amazing shots although my baby was awake the entire session. She is warm, nice, and really fun to work with. She gave me a lot of photos both colored and black and white for a really good price. I totally recommend her and I will go to her if I ever have another baby. read more

What an amazing experience! I had both my newborn & 3 month photos done here for my little one! The photos were fantastic!! She was fabulous with my daughter - so personable and great with babies! Her workspace is comfortable and professional. She takes a wide variety of photos - you won't be disappointed!
