This was a pleasant surprise across from our hotel! This place has almost everything you need for a quick stop. I enjoy exploring new places and stopping in to places like this because I never know what I will discover or find. We stopped in here 2-3 times during our stay. There were other times hubs stayed in the area after and stopped in here as well. We initially did not have a goal in mind when first stopping in. I think we noticed they had lottery and wanted to get some tickets. There is a small market that supplies typical bodega items. I decided to browse that area and found some items I cannot find in FL. There are also refrigerators and freezers lining the walls of the store. I found some non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks that I have not seen in a long time. The liquor is behind the counter, while the wine and beer are accessible to customers. The prices are not stupid outrageous. The staff behind the counter were always friendly and helpful. Every time we visited, there was a lot of traffic of customers so this place is busy all the time. We even noticed a lot of traffic while watching from our hotel window. read more

Ive been buying lotto tickets here for quite sometime now and had no problem at all and cashiers were great until a young women came up to me at parking lot after I bought lotto tickets and asked to leave and said I can't be there. There were other cars there that she didn't bother and she really waited for me to exit the parking lot then went in the store. Discrimination at its best. read more

Just outside LAX and in the center of the airport hotel district, Purdy's is a great convenience store with a great selection of liquor, wine, beer, snacks and daily sundries. Tiny little liquor store near LAX. My go-to for snacks and smokes when I would go plane spotting. Their drinks were cold, reasonably priced and smokes were priced pretty good for being around such a busy airport. They also have little shooter bottles if you need to pregame before a long flight as I did some years back xD Also has a decent selection of beer, lotto, and snacks. read more

If you don't mind blowing money then go here. I was charged extra for items purchased and was told that the plastics cups cost $1.89/per cup after I paid for the items. When I went back to tell the guy that I was overcharged he made it seem like I was in the wrong. He told me the cups are a extra 0.05cents and he charged me 1.89 each for 5 cups and I asked for 3. I purchased 1 750ml of don julio that was listed for 56.99 and two ginger ale's that were listed for 2/3.50. My total was 78.99 for 3 items. Can someone explain how they got that total? This place serves a very useful purpose for travelers. No need to keep sucking down over priced alcoholic drinks from whatever LAX hotel you select. Walk no more than 3 blocks in either directions and you are here (that may not be exact but you get the meaning). After being on a plane from the east coast to the west coast, you need the walk. Fire up your phone GPS and get to stepping. I was all set to stretch out my legs and this place was virtually in the same block as the Embassy Suites. I didn't even break a sweat. If you need a snack to go with those drinks get it here too instead of the hotel market. Yes, the building exterior ain't pretty and when we came back in the dark I would swear we passed some 'ladies of the night" on the other side of the street near the Embassy Suites. Since I wasn't buying, that wasn't an issue. They didn't bother us and we sure didn't bother them. Yes, The prices may be higher than your local 7-Eleven but not by much. Besides your local 7-11 probably doesn't stock liquor & CA wine. Neither does my MD one. read more

This is a long overdue review for Purdy Liquor. After I came back from the Four Point Sheraton for the Targeted/Dice tech job fair I came here to buy a lotto ticket. The Mega-millions was high (the last few times I came in) and I had my dollar out and the cashier knew what I was in for!!! I didn't bother looking around for other things just for a ticket. I didn't win just for your information, didn't even match 1 or 2 numbers. Oh well. Oh the parking is limited here and I think there is a time limit. It is also your typical liquor store with booze, drinks, snacks, newspaper, and etc. So this place gets a lot of businesses since it is right next to the hotels. read more

Old-time, old school "corner" liquor store with classic candies on the shelf from the 50's and 60's, plus imported tidbits - wafer cookies from Europe, Mexican delicacies, and ginger beer. They also regularly carry my personal favorite, Cherry Coke Zero (I like Pepsi Cherry Zero better, but beggars can't be choosers!). Tucked away behind the hotels on Century Boulevard, it's a hidden gem. Be aware that there is a service charge to use a debit or credit card, though! Love this place! read more

This off the beaten path mini mart/liquor store is perfect if you're staying at the hotels close to the airport. Located behind the Crowne Plaza and Embassy Suites, it's the perfect place to stop for bottled water, soda, snack food, or of course, alcohol. I've seen many airline employees and police officers coming in. There seem to be more locals than tourists. I found this store years ago when I was staying at the Marriott, and I've been coming back since. Most major brands of bottled water are $1.59 for the liter or 1.5 liter rather than the $2 price tag at most hotel vending machines for the half liter. Also, you can buy a decent bottle of champagne or wine here for less than you'll pay at the hotel for the glass. Most of their ice cream bars are .99. It's not fancy, but the people that work here are nice, and the prices beat anywhere else in the immediate vicinity. read more

Great selection, prices kinda suck though. And it's really hot in here. I felt like I'd stepped into a liquor store in Florida. I don't know why it's so humid inside. I picked up a 6-pack of Shock Top for about $9 and a midsized bottle of Jameson for $15. I probably could have gotten both for cheaper if I shopped around, but driving around the LAX area once you've already parked at a hotel is a bit of a pain in the ass. This was my daily liquor store for the last 4 years, working right down the street. The prices on liquor are decent, everything else is pretty on-par with normal liquor stores. Selection is fairly vast, and it is convenient for a lot of people staying in the adjacent hotels. The staff is very personable, and I actually felt a bit sad when I left the area, and it's like I lost part of my family. We shared stories and BS'd from time to time while I was in there getting my quality libations. They don't have any warm food, except for hot dogs, and I never had the guts to try one. They always looked pretty sad, but that's just my opinion. If you are near the liquor store, and looking for liquor store items, look no further... primarily because there aren't any other ones nearby (if walking, anyhow). read more

Zig Zag wraps were fresh, Cheap beer and Monster energy drinks to get me the 300 miles to Yosemite Great location, kinda tucked away on a side street, but within walking distance from hotels and parking, which was sweeeeetttt!! Whenever I have an overnight layover or I'm staying in the LAX area this is always my go to place for food, snacks or drinks. Well stocked with a variety of goods from food, beer/liquor, magazines, travel essentials/first aid/Tylenol, even a small souvenir section. Quick and easy walk from most hotels in the LAX area. Prices are waaaay better than the hotel gift shops. The employees are super friendly - been going there for years (at least twice a month because of work travels) and they remember me.
