Came to this location because years ago my family brought their children here. Not sure if things…read morechanged or maybe these things weren't apparent to my family. My child was in the infants room. In the infants room it seems like they don't do anything to interact w the children. A few times I came to pick up my son and I saw the teachers on their phone while having the children watch TV. Kids are left in a room to just play w one another. There is no set schedule or activities they do during the day. Thankfully each time that I picked up my son I always made sure to go back to the room to pick him up and not wait for them to bring him to me. Definitely had me on high alarm when they said parents weren't allowed to go back to pick up or drop off. I did make sure that I went back at least to the window of the room. Many times I got accident reports and the very last time I got an accident report they said it was because my son hit another child and they put him in a timeout by locking him up into a high chair. No child should ever be put into a "timeout chair" that locks them in one place. That's torture, my child was just barely 1, I know he didn't understand what was being done to him. Children are teachable not punishable!!! Extremely disappointed I didn't see the signs before. I think I really wanted to like this school because my family had previously gone here. Also I do not like that every time I came to pick up my son or drop him off nobody was in the front. Anybody can just walk in, how scary.

During my initial tour, I informed the daycare that my son has autism, and at that time they assured me it would not be an issue. When I later enrolled him, they again stated they were willing to give it a try, especially since he would only be attending on some weekends when there were fewer children, allowing him time to adjust. My son attended this daycare a total of five times. During those visits, I never received any complaints or concerning feedback. The only issue mentioned was that he did not want to nap, which is common for many children. I recently received a call informing me that they could no longer accommodate my son because he required one-on-one attention. Initially, no specific explanation was provided. After I called back seeking clarification, I was told that he had opened a door and attempted to go outside, had disrupted other children during nap time, and did not participate in the day's flashcard activity. I found these explanations concerning because when I picked him up on his last visit, I was told that other children had actually woken him from his nap. Additionally, I believe children in daycare should have opportunities to learn through play and socialize, not solely participate in structured activities. I am disappointed that after only five visits, the daycare decided they could no longer accommodate my son. If a facility is unable to support children with special needs, I believe this should be clearly communicated to families during the enrollment process. Every child deserves to be cared for in an environment where they are valued, supported, and given the opportunity to succeed.

And over these years I've had many issues with them until I finally pulled them out. I want to start of with most of the teachers are very kind and that is the ONLY reason we stayed so long. First complaint is after a child is potty trained They will no longer help the child wipe themselves or even monitor them to be sure they are not wiping incorrectly. My toddler was always coming home with poop in her panties and redness and irritation on her vagina due to her wiping poop into her vaginal area. I expressed to them many times the issues she was having and even sent wipes for her to clean herself better. Still the issue continued and they continued to refuse to help her. To the point were before everything happened i took her to the doctor because it was hurt Lilly to pee. And the doctor was in complete shock that they wouldnt help her clean herself and agreed that was causing lillys issues. The director said its against their policy to help wipe and didn't seem to care at all. Secondly they will allow your child to sleep for hours and hours and even when you express to them how this throws off the kids sleep schedule once again they do not care. The director Genesis is very rude in general. She doesn't truly care for the kids, family or even her own staff. She only cares about the money. She made false reports against me over my son's dry skin on his hands. Keep in mind its December and dry skin is a normal thing. The reports about the "abuse to Noahs hands" were found to be untrue when DCFS came to my house. But it goes to show how little she cares about the kids or families when she would stoop so low as to lie. Because she was tired of me complaining about the things they do. They also have a huge turn over rate with teachers and assistant directors due the fact that Genesis is so horrible to work with and work for. I've spoken to many past employees and they all say the same things regarding Genesis.
