I took the Breast Cancer Awareness class at Sonder Brewing with Pure Barre and it was great! I loved the instructor, and it was so nice to be moving outside. Pure Barre is a tough workout, it definitely takes some practice to get the hang of it. I haven't made it into the studio yet, but plan on going soon!

Gorgeous studio, plenty of parking

Purely the best fitness studio in Ohio, period. Janna (the owner) is super sweet, but don't let the pretty smile fool you-- she will WORK. YOU. OUT. The classes are always a challenge; I've been regularly attending classes since October (at various locations) and I still get the shakes. BUT! The results I have seen are incredible. My body has become leaner, more toned, and more flexible in ways that I never saw with running or yoga. All levels are welcome. I had no previous dance experience and felt just as challenged at my first class as I did at my most recent class, leaving both times feeling equally amazing. It's a great, fun thing to do with your girlfriends, too. You will all wish for the sweet release of death but then feel so accomplished afterward. I cannot say enough amazing things about Pure Barre Mason. Go try it, your first class is free!

I set up my first class through Facebook messenger, arrived early and was shown around and told how things work.

It used…read moreto be an old house right on the trail that they converted into a Pilates studio, as well as an event center. It is located right behind the restaurant called Bishops Quarter. I do follow this Pilates studio on social media, as I am a fan of all of the local businesses in my hometown; however, I had not been before today! I noticed online that they were offering a free intro class to the reformer this afternoon. I believe they created this class with the intention of making the community aware of what they were teaching--and for a teacher that had the availability of an impromptu class at noon on a Monday, it was perfect! This class was a small, almost one on one type class where there were three of us with one teacher. It was on the reformer, and the teacher taught how to correctly place your body on the reformer, as well as some specific moves we would do in future classes. I had a blast, and it really worked my muscles! The teacher said to look online for the current deal. She thought you could get 10 classes for about $186. I need to look at the schedule to see if it fits once I'm back to a full-time job in the fall (Summer schedules are great for us teachers!), but overall, I really enjoyed my experience! The studio does use the Mind Body app, so you make all of your reservations online and pay for classes in advance.

Yesterday a half dozen of my exercise buddies had a great Pilates session with Tara. The boutique…read morestudio is charming and thoughtfully organized. This was the first Pilates session for most of us, and Tara efficiently and patiently described exercises. She made even the most difficult movements fun and manageable with detailed descriptions. She even went so fast as creating a custom playlist for our group. Tara has such great energy and it seemed like some of that transferred to all of us.

Update after going there for a few months. First review was after just a couple classes. Then the…read moretruth came out. They are definitely committing fraud with the No Show fees. They tried to charge me once for a class I was present for and I threw a fit and they refunded me. They subsequently tried it again another time, but I had started checking on the app after every class that they had checked me in, and I went to the desk and asked them to check me in as they hadn't after class. The lady looked at me as I told her my name, she pretended to check me in on the computer and I refreshed my app to make sure she did and she had not. I told her for the third time to check me in and she finally did. That is not a mistake. If I hadn't paid attention, they would have stolen a lot of money from me. After my experience, I informed my friends to make sure they check their accounts and between 3 other people that I went with, they charged 11 no show fees that they refused to refund when the girls were present for every class. That's $165 stolen just from people I know. I can only imagine how much they are making stealing from everyone who doesn't regularly check their accounts. If you don't check your bank account, they WILL (probably already have) steal from you. I have reported them to the FTC for the fraud. They are not certified to train anyone. Their certification consists of 7 hours. I am a certified yoga instructor and I spent 6 months of being in class for 24 hours every other weekend. I also have ti be CPR certified, which their staff is definitely not. My friend had a heat stroke there which landed her in the hospital and the staff did absolutely nothing to help her when she was passed out in the lobby. A fellow, good samaritan CLIENT took it upon herself to run and get her cold towels and offer to call 911 while the staff stood by and watched from afar and ignored the situation. Ultimately the kind woman called my friend's husband to get her and take her to the ER. My friends and I immediately cancelled our memberships. My $400 sunglasses were stolen from there. But other than that, it's great! I can't imagine this outfit lasts too long with their shady business model and incompetent "teachers."

The ownership is terrible. Instructors and employees are great. It's a shame…read more The front door has been broken for 6 months. One evening I was the last client to leave and totally panicked because I could not open the door to get out. A mirror panel has been broken for 4+ months with painters tape as what appears to be their long term solution. The studio has added a tacky lights strip put up rather than prioritizing the safety of instructors and clients by replacing the mirror and door properly.
