OMG! Had an amazing workout!!! For those of you who are curious, Barre3 is where ballet barre meets yoga and pilates. A friend of mine (Amy) referred me to this place. The studio just opened up on June 1st, 2015. The first week they are offering free classes. I signed up for two and look forward to my 2nd session!!! I have never taken or done Pilates or Yoga, so I was quite nervous going in. The staff was VERY friendly and helpful. They told me that no experience is required, so I was very relieved. For newbies, make sure to arrive 15 minutes early so that they can show you around (you also fill out a waiver), bring a water bottle and wear yoga like attire. The studio offers complimentary filtered water. They also provide hand towels in the studio if you need one. Props are already included (core ball, light weights, yoga strap, pilates mat, and ballet barre. You can wear socks, but highly recommend Toesox (which they sell at the studio) if you want to purchase. It's like wearing open toe socks. The facility does have changing rooms (your own privacy), lockers and childcare (there is a fee - not sure of pricing. Must make reservasations). Natalie (my instructor) was very attentive and kind. She went around the room introducing herself before the class. She asks if we have any health issues (back/shoulders problems, etc), which I thought was smart. The class is 60 minutes which we worked all the muscles groups, especially with our core. We started off warming up, then did barre work, weights, core ball, then cool down). I can see why people love Barre classes because it builds long, lean muscles, strong core, increases stamina, increases flexibility and develops muscle balance leading to a well-proportioned body with less risk for injury. After my workout, I left feeling less stress and tensed. Also the hour flew by so quickly! Great music and the room is very spacious (capacity holds 28 clients). Info on pricing (from web): New Client - 3 for $30 (one time only) Love barre3? Commit and save with our monthly membership option. Click the "Barre3 Membership" link above to learn more. Expiration Date: 12/2/2015 $30.00 Package - Single Class $20.00 Package - 5 Classes Expiration Date: 6 months from first use $85.00 Package - 10 Classes Expiration Date: 6 months from first use $160.00 Package - 20 Classes Expiration Date: 6 months from first use $300.00 Package - 30 Classes Expiration Date: 6 months from first use $420.00 Unlimited Classes - 1 Month Expiration Date: 6 months from first use $170.00 (right now there is a special and limited time only for $125.00) Online reservations is convenient on the web. You can cancel a reservation up to an hour before class. Late cancellations or no-shows incur a $15.00 charge to accounts with an unlimited monthly membership OR the reduction of one class from a class package. Parking lot (plenty to choose from) They also sell Barre water bottles, bags, accessories, and attire in the front lobby. What a great experience!! I will surely return! I also want to thank them for the free swag bag and complimentary class card (grand opening week only) given by them after class. If you've never taken a barre class, you need to! Especially at this place!! They are fantastic!!

Barre3 is a barre, pilates, and yoga fusion studio in Montgomery. Barre3 is a bit tucked away in a shopping center so look closely for it. The studio space is warm and beautiful. It is clean, brightly lit, and pleasing to the eye. There is plenty of space available for changing and cubbie and locker storage for belongings. There is a childcare area and two bathrooms. One bathroom has a changing room and appears to be handicap accessible. The fitness studio has cork floors and the workout is done with bare feet (or socks if you desire). The instructors are very friendly and welcoming. They are happy to explain any part of the process and are careful to ask about injuries prior to class. The class itself is excellent. The music has a great beat and is motivating. The instructor does the class along with you providing periodic coaching and modification suggestions. Barre3 has a little bit more of a cardio component than other barre classes I have attended. The isometric holds are a cornerstone of the class but when combined with dynamic movements it really makes you sweat. The class environment is very welcoming. The instructor does the class with you which makes it a bit less intimidating than most barre classes where the instructors walk around correcting students. You do lose some corrections this way but I found the environment to be a little more relaxing than most barre classes. Movements in this class are generally low impact- this does not mean they are easy by any means though. The workout was very hard, but doable and I will definitely be back.

Instructions at the Mason studio are helpful and correcting is always done in a positive way. Their retail is open for anyone and they offer a cute selection of good workout gear. Most studios offer a first class free so you can try it out. They have a more cardio centric option, a strength option plus classic barre. This gives you the ability to vary your workout. Going to barre 3-4 times a week had me in the best shape of my life. Body weight, isometric and challenging but also able to modify for your ability and any health challenges. And don't let the name fool you, there are dedicated male clients too and barre is a great strength, flexibility workout. As a mid-size woman, I am extremely comfortable in these classes. I was a little nervous going in that I would be on the bigger side there and expected 'ballerina bodies' being the predominant figure there - but there are women of all shapes, sizes, and ages! This is truly a welcoming environment for all and the instructors and fellow members are all very kind. The workout is definitely on the intense side but there are lots of modifications that you can do to make it easier or harder depending on your fitness level. I am already seeing a difference in my ability to keep going in the classes and I feel great after the class! There is great music and such a great vibe and if you're looking for a great workout studio - look no further than Pure Barre Mason!

Pure Barre in Oakley is a beautiful studio with fantastic classes…read more I am about 16 classes in and that is about how long it has taken for me to figure out what is going on (in a good way). The instructors are really great about helping with adjustments so you get the most out of movements- so if they are giving you lots of adjustments in the beginning that is totally normal. I am down 1/2 inch in my waist and feel strong. I also have more energy. I am also waking up muscles and learning to recruit them. The studio is beautiful. Immediately when you enter, shoes go to the left. There is a variety of clothing, including "sticky socks" or "grip socks" which are needed for class (you can buy these ahead of time or in store- they run about $18). There are also skincare and other fantastic smelling items from a woman owned brand (this Pure Barre is woman owned too). Towards the back is the check in desk. The barretender and instructor will greet you there. Be sure to tell the instructor you are new (if you are) so they can pay special attention on your form. There is a bathroom all the way to the back. To the front right is the studio, and behind it are lockers and equipment. A whiteboard will show equipment needed (and this is wiped down at the end of class). The class itself is fantastic; there are 4 total formats; they move quickly and have great music- it's completely normal to shake- in fact it is a good sign. Classes somehow fly by for me- and I usually do get an endorphin rush. Instructors are high energy and super nice. They give clear instruction and do an excellent job of making sure your form is at its best. Other clients are super nice and if you let them know you are new, they are very motivating; some of them are thousands of classes in! If you are on the fence about whether to give Pure Barre in Oakley a try I would definitely recommend it- and if you stick with it you will love it!

We have classes online that we can watch anytime, and they interact on the Facebook page with workout tips, life updates, and funny content. I can't wait to go back for classes at the studio, but they are doing awesome using the platforms online, too! Thanks Pure Barre Oakley for making working out fun!

I…read morehave been working out my whole life, but was really needing to find something different to support and strengthen my lower back and joints. I saw an ad on Facebook for a free Pure Barre class. I signed up and dove in. My free intro class was with the owner, Kendra. She was kind and helpful throughout class-- providing gentle corrections on my form as we went along. I ended up signing up for the "8 class/month" package and am so glad I did. There are several different types of classes to choose from (my faves are Classic and Align). I have found that my workouts at Pure Barre have made me significantly stronger, more toned, more flexible, more controlled, and better balanced. I love that with the 8 class pack, I can fit classes into my monthly schedule at times that work best for me. The schedule varies each day and month, giving you an opportunity to try different classes, instructors, and workout times. The instructors are all amazing and so kind and helpful and encouraging and gentle in their corrections. I appreciate how closely they pay attention to each person's form, while leading a fast paced class. I won't lie-- the classes are hard. But they are worth it. And they move so fast there isn't much time to complain. Classes change monthly, so you never do the same workout more than a time or two. If you're nervous about trying a group class, I recommend still giving Pure Barre a chance. The fast pace, hard work, and fun music make it easy to relax and just focus on yourself and your form.

They tried to charge me once for a class I was present for and I threw a fit and they refunded me. They subsequently tried it again another time, but I had started checking on the app after every class that they had checked me in, and I went to the desk and asked them to check me in as they hadn't after class. The lady looked at me as I told her my name, she pretended to check me in on the computer and I refreshed my app to make sure she did and she had not. I told her for the third time to check me in and she finally did. That is not a mistake. If I hadn't paid attention, they would have stolen a lot of money from me. After my experience, I informed my friends to make sure they check their accounts and between 3 other people that I went with, they charged 11 no show fees that they refused to refund when the girls were present for every class. That's $165 stolen just from people I know. I can only imagine how much they are making stealing from everyone who doesn't regularly check their accounts. If you don't check your bank account, they WILL (probably already have) steal from you. I have reported them to the FTC for the fraud. They are not certified to train anyone. Their certification consists of 7 hours. I am a certified yoga instructor and I spent 6 months of being in class for 24 hours every other weekend. I also have ti be CPR certified, which their staff is definitely not. My friend had a heat stroke there which landed her in the hospital and the staff did absolutely nothing to help her when she was passed out in the lobby. A fellow, good samaritan CLIENT took it upon herself to run and get her cold towels and offer to call 911 while the staff stood by and watched from afar and ignored the situation. Ultimately the kind woman called my friend's husband to get her and take her to the ER. My friends and I immediately cancelled our memberships. My $400 sunglasses were stolen from there. But other than that, it's great! I can't imagine this outfit lasts too long with their shady business model and incompetent "teachers."
