One of my friends told me to check this place out, which was only a couple miles away from me. She loved their classes (she did Yoga, Pilates, and some kind of ab class) and thought I'd benefit from their facilities, especially the track. Although the Centre has a membership fee for the machines & classes, I was able to use the track for free since I was a resident (at the time). That was all I needed. I loved it! The track was clean and never too crowded. I don't think a lot of people realized what a gem this place was. I went at different times during the day and enjoyed running quietly by myself or alongside my husband (he came with me a couple times). Lockers are also available next to the track with keys. I also walked around the Centre and saw two nice pools, climbing wall, new & clean machines, and several rooms for classes. The only downside is that the parking garage is kind of narrow and you have to watch out for cars coming around the corner. It's hard to find parking sometimes, but at least the garage is attached to some kind of indoor bridge over the street so you don't have to walk across the street. I also came here once for some kind of green festival and really enjoyed all the displays, booths, taste samples, art, and petting zoo! Many parts of Elgin are really run-down but this is one part of Elgin that shines. If it wasn't for the Centre (and the library nearby), I wouldn't have been complete.

The gym is extremely small and not in a good neighborhood 2. It's empty 3. 2 people working (The Husband and wife) They bring you into the back and ask you all these questions get you excited just to hit you with a $699 deposit fee that "you can get back after the 6 weeks IF you loose 6% body fat@ or $49.99 a WEEK. When I asked to think about the decision and consult with my spouse I was told I either had to sign up now or I could not come back. When I raised suspicion about this the wife got very rude. I've been a member to several gyms. ..so yes I have and will spend money for my health. That's not the issue. I wasn't sure if there was "a catch" or not, but I wanted to know if they were expecting me to pay or sign up when I arrived. Fair enough right? (Nothing is free) ...and even how much a place like that would cost. People do have budgets. I'm 25 minutes away but I travel a lot for work, so it wouldn't be that big of a deal, plus I was trying to get a friend to go. I SIMPLY wanted to talk to someone before I made the 25 min trip tonight. BUT...Impossible to get a hold of anyone to verify this is a legit company. Over a couple days. .... - I tried msging this company 2 times on Facebook. Once I tagged them in a post with their ad and once via messenger. NOTHING - I received 3 texts from a number saying it was the program director. (SEE PIC) I texted back asking for someone to call. NOTHING I then tried calling that number and it went to an automated msg that hangs up after a barely understandable msg played. - The website was in a weird language when I clicked on the "contact us" tab. - I tried calling the number on the website, but no one answers. ...so I left a voicemail. Not mean or sarcastic, I might add. ..... I asked if the place was legit because my friend was skeptical that I asked to join me. She wondered why nearly 12k Facebook likes but they still offer free weeks and they still "had spots to fill up". Also, it was extremely hard to get a hold of someone. I asked if there was a catch for their "free 6 weeks" and for someone to call me back before I come tonight. By this point I'm already pretty irritated. I get a text from the number I just called. A text? Really? (SEE PIC) So I call right back. ... The guy who answers says "hi how can I help you?" I say, "I'm calling the number that just texted? I was trying to get a hold of someone." He says, "yes how can I help you?" I said "well you responded via text that there is a catch and I just wanted to talk to someone over the phone about your promotion." THEN HE STARTS WITH THE ATTITUDE. ..he says, "we'll we can't answer the phone or text or respond to everyone interested, we don't have time for that and we need to focus on our paying customers." REALLY? REALLY? I should have hung up then. He continues, "look, just come in, you won't regret it. It will be the best decision you will make." I then try and ask about the "catch". What will they expect me to sign or pay for when I drive out there? What part is actually free? He says, "are you not planning on spending a penny? Are you just trying to get something for free? Don't worry about what the catch is, you will get plenty of free things tonight that will make it worth your time and then after orientation you will need to make a decision" I asked "what decision will i need to make and how much and what will you expect me to pay for?" SIMPLE QUESTIONS RIGHT? Just get to the point! He says he can't tell me anything over the phone, i need show up. ..then mumbles something and HANGS UP ON ME! I texted back and then being a smart ass, he did as well. (SEE PIC) I just wanted to verify that my 25 minute drive will be worth my time.... , but NOT to someone who replies to my voicemail via text instead of calling, then when I call to actually "speak" to a human, he acts as though he doesn't have time for me. ..doesn't answer any of my questions ..then HANGS UP ON ME! We did a 1p hot yoga class which was invigorating. The instructor, Sarah, had amazing music choice which is very important to me and she came around to correct my posture whenever I needed it. The heat was definitely intense, but also very relaxing. At the end of the cool down, the instructor came around and put a cold wet towel infused with lavender on your forehead. Never knew I needed that after a session of hot yoga! Serious game changer! After yoga, we toured the whole facility. There's a steam room with a cold plunge bath... I mean, what?! The showers were equipped with Aésop shampoo and conditioner as well as a specialty house-made body wash! Everything smelled so divine, very earthy and natural like a spa! There were also private rooms for naps and massages. After we showered, we headed upstairs for smoothies. The Aegean one was my favorite. It was like having an oatmeal shake! So good! Biân is a state of the art wellness center. Every inch of the place was so mindfully thought out and really evokes a sense of zen being.
