I've never swam or played tennis or basketball or taken any of the classes, but they all seem great as well.

We have done their JSCs for both of my kids this summer and have now signed up for weekly lessons. My daughter literally screamed and cried at the last place we were at and here she has had 0 tears! The water is warm so my kids are not shivering during lessons. The instructors are great and keep the kids on task and focused on the skills there are working on. I have noticed that sometimes they have a second (floater) teacher that goes to each lane and helps out as a second teacher for a few minutes and then move on to another class. At the end of each class teachers give you a little summary of how your child did. Sometimes the kids even earn ribbons for accomplishing different goals, which my kids absolutely love. I think it's a great motivator for them as well. The facility has some great added touches with amenities like an area with blow dryers, showers with soap in the pool area. It's well kept and clean. My kids are growing and becoming more confident and comfortable in the water. I could not be happier here!

At her first makeup class, Saylor was so scared, she was crying hysterically and refused to get in the water. Eleanor, who I believe is one of the managers, knows Saylor from seeing her, and jumped right in to save the day! Eleanor went above and beyond to make sure Saylor was comfortable, and by the end of the first makeup class, Saylor was thriving! At our next makeup class, Eleanor had Saylor's favorite toys waiting for her, and Saylor loved that, and had no tears, and was ready to swim! I just wanted to say, we have loved everyone we have worked with at Goldfish St Charles, and we definitely appreciate Eleanor going above and beyond!

Overestimate a swim teacher, and somebody could drown. I feel confident giving Foss 5 stars. We have had several teachers over the weeks for various reasons and almost all have been really great. Julia, Jennifer, Dayonara and Jeremy have all been fantastic. My kids have made such great progress, it is mind blowing. They seem a little pricey but there are options to keep costs down if you can be flexible with your schedule. And frankly, all swim schools may be pricey now, I have no idea. It is always clean, and safe. Everybody is in such a good mood. A great environment for kids. Highly recommended.

After the 3rd time taking the same class, I was denied the "swimmers guaranteed". Which states that if your swimmer repeats a level 2x they will be offered assistance the 3rd time. If they have to repeat the level a 4th time, it's is supposed to be "on us". I'm being told that because two of my sons attempts at the level were "camps" ie 4x a week for 2 weeks and 4x a week for a month, that I didn't qualify for extra help in his 3rd go round because "camps don't count" and likewise the 4th "on us" session per the technicality. I have been at the school for numerous turnovers that have directly affected the quality and consistency of their programs. I have never once complained. Now, when my son is struggling, I have been shown no understanding or treatment like a valued customer of 8 years. Shame on you.

The teachers are focused and structured and use repetition to teach the kids very valuable swimming techniques quickly. My 4 year old son just graduated to the Turtle class, meaning he can now jump in, swim forward, turn around on his back, and do chicken/airplane/soldier down the pool - all by himself! If you want your child to really learn how to swim definitely consider British Swim School.

One of the instructors took him and worked with him one-on-one until he was comfortable. There are 2 kids per instructor, so they really get a lot of one-on-one time. Another little girl was having trouble and during the "fun time" at the end, one of the instructors took her to work a little more. The instructor was really positive and wonderful with my son. By the end my son was having a blast. We had gone to another swim school the year before and my son had a death grip on me the whole time and the instructor barely talked to us. So when we tried British Swim School, I was blown away. It is in an LA Fitness, so it isn't as kid friendly as some of the other places geared just for kids. They have changing stations in by the pool and shampoo and anything you would need after swimming, so you don't have to bring all that stuff. There is plenty of seating by the pool for parents to watch.

The offerings are great, with a good selection of high quality facilities, equipment, group classes, park district activities/lessons, etc. The staff is amazing. They really care about their jobs and their members. They greet you by name, take the time to help with any questions or issues, and take member feedback seriously. They also have an on-site childcare offering (Kids Korner) that is FANTASTIC! I have been taking my children there for 7 1/2 years and 1 year respectively. The service, and especially the people, have been a godsend. They take such good care of my kids, and I am a very tough critic in this regard. Age appropriate activities, close supervision, engaged and caring staff, clean environment (I constantly see them cleaning surfaces and toys), and as a parent whose children have been going since they were small babies I appreciate the hygiene guidelines they enforce (no shoes, socks must be worn, hand sanitizer readily available, no sick children, etc). I did the math :) So I got the iPod out, paid the $5 admission and went here to work out. They really don't have a ton of cardio equipment, maybe 5 or 6 treadmills, a couple ellipticals (which I couldn't even get on) and maybe 5 or 6 exercise bikes. Everything is very close together too and it's kind of hard to navigate. The running track was really what pissed me off. There were these morons on there who were basically walking side by side hogging BOTH of the lanes. They only have two lanes. It's like "HELLO...DON'T HOG BOTH LANES..THERE ARE PEOPLE TRYING TO RUN HERE!" Inside lane for walkers, outside lane for runners. Not that hard to comprehend, people. How about a 4 lane running track, Village of Streamwood? I'd probably come back here again to work out.
