Danielle did hair and makeup for my July 27, 2019 wedding at Seven4one in Laguna Beach, CA. Based on reviews and several e-mails back and forth, I knew that Danielle would be the best choice as my hair and make-up artist for the day. Since I live in New York, my wedding morning was the first time we actually got to meet each other - unable to do a trial before the wedding itself. She did however ask me to send over a picture of my hair and makeup inspiration, along with a photo of myself prior to the big day via e-mail and I had no doubts that she would be able to deliver on what I envisioned. From the second she entered the room, she had such a warm and friendly presence and made me feel so at ease. The day-of the wedding, Danielle did hair and makeup for myself (the bride), my MOH, a bridesmaid, my mother, my mother-in-law, and makeup for my grandmother. All turned out BEAUTIFULLY. All of us ladies with very different skin types, preferences, and hair and makeup inspiration were each thrilled with the work Danielle did as the results were beyond perfection. At the end of our getting ready, Danielle gifted me a "for the day" kit that included blotting papers, a mini lipstick and a liner. I got referred to Danielle by an amazing Wedding Planner and friend (Sarah from Truly Fancy Events). Sarah is amazeballs! I wanted to hire her for my wedding but she was already booked that weekend. From what I know of Sarah, personally and of her business, I know that she does everything impeccably and beautifully so I was pretty confident any recommendation from her would be the answer to all my hair and make-up prayers. I contacted Danielle via email and I was really impressed with how promptly she responded to all of my questions and concerns. We made an appointment for a trial run about 3 weeks before my wedding. I booked my trip to LA (I live in NorCal) and I planned to get a lot of wedding stuff done that trip. THEN on my way to LA...I blew out my back on the plane ride over and literally could not move for my entire stay, in fact, I had to stay a week longer than planned just to heal enough to get back on a plane. It was a nightmare. Needless to say, I had to cancel my trial run with Danielle. We spoke on the phone and that's when I discovered what a lovely person she is. She was very understanding, sweet and genuine. I wasn't gonna be back in town until the week of my wedding. I needed to get a trial done before the actual wedding day and the only day our schedules permitted was the day before my wedding. It was cutting it close but, based on the referral and the phone conversation with Danielle, I decided to take a leap of faith. I was so relieved the day of my trial. I knew that my bridesmaids and I were in good hands. Danielle is amazing. She, herself, is gorgeous (which is a good sign of someone with style) and just so easy to talk to and get along with. It's so nice to work with someone like that. Good vibes. Good energy. I was SO happy to find her because, honestly, I was a little nervous. It WAS the day before my wedding, I know I got a good referral but what if she was really sweet but really sucked at her job? How well did Sarah even know this girl? I showed her Pinterest ideas that I had saved on my phone and discussed the look I was going for and she delivered 110%. I can't tell you how pleased (and relieved) I was. The day of my wedding, Danielle came and met us at the hotel and did as phenomenal of a job on my bridesmaids as she had done on me the day before. She listened to everything my two bridesmaids wanted and delivered beautifully. She was genuinely concerned that all of our hair and make-up requests were met. I can't say enough about how gorgeous she made us all feel and look. I am SO happy I found Danielle. I'd want to use her again but I only plan on getting married the one time :) I plan on recommending Danielle to any of my future-bride friends. Danielle did hair/makeup for my wedding in January 2019. She is: 1) Transparent with pricing/fees 2) Easy to communicate with: responds to emails within 1-3 days 3) Takes feedback seriously (and well!) on what you like/dislike about the look 4) On-time, and realistic about schedules #1 and #2 made it easy to get all the information I needed through email - no phone call or in-person visit required! This was important since I planned my SoCal wedding from NorCal.   #3 was super important since I had mixed feelings about my makeup trial. To be fair - the mixed feelings had nothing to do with Danielle's skill. Instead, it had to do with the difference in "what I thought I wanted" vs. "what I felt comfortable in". Danielle looked carefully and recreated the the Instagram pictures I saved. However, the lashes, pink lip, cat eye - was overwhelming for me. For context, I am a person who wears no makeup on a daily basis. Danielle spent an extra 20-30 minutes calming me down by explaining how makeup comes across differently in-person vs. on camera. We also went over options on how we could change or tone down the look on the day of. She told me to think about it, talk with friends/family, and then give honest feedback. Most of my family thought the look was beautiful. In the end, I asked Danielle to do a more natural look for the day of. She swapped in lighter lashes (and trimming them), and went for a more natural lip. It was good to try the more "extreme looks" first, so now I will never wonder "what if" I had just tried X, Y, or Z. For #4, for the day of, Danielle and her team did 9 services (3 hair, 6 makeup). I had a Sunday brunch wedding and needed to be out the door by 9:10 am. Danielle and Yara showed up at 5:45 am, started hair/makeup at 6 am, and actually finished early at 8:50 am! Danielle is truly a professional, which allowed me to relax and leave everything in her capable hands. The last two points I wanted to bring up are: 1) Book early! I booked Danielle in September 2019 for a January 2020 wedding, but I think I lucked out by having an off-season wedding. I wasn't able to get a makeup trial until the end of December due to my travel schedule, and the fact that Danielle was booked every weekend from September to the end of the year! 2) If you're Asian and on the fence, I'd say do a trial and decide. I worried about having a non-Asian artist, but Danielle is very skilled and open to changing anything you don't like. I'm a little late with my review - wedding date was March 23rd. I met Danielle at Tivoli Too open house. I ended up with most of the vendors at their open house... I researched a few other people and in the end she seemed the most reasonable and I liked her work. I told her it was going to be just me and one of my brides maids getting our hair and make up done. She sent me the pricing and then contract and I also got the trial for hair and makeup. She was far from my work so she arranged it so that I could go over to her place over the weekend and get my trial done, which was very helpful. I also told/warned her that I had super curly hair because most of the people I was seeing had straight hair but she said it would'n't be a problem (and it wasn't!) I don't normally wear makeup and usually just have my hair in a bun so after the trial hair and make up with the fake lashes, I was amazed! She coordinated the timing for the wedding with my photographer so that was easy and met me timely at my hotel. She got both our hair and makeup done quickly and we both loved it. She still had some time and so I asked if she could do my mom's hair too and she agreed. She was super friendly and gave me a touch up kit on the day of the wedding too. Where do I begin? Danielle and her team were more than I could have asked for. Not only was her work incredible, her personality and joy radiated the room. We had SO much fun. Now to the real stuff, I looked and felt absolutely gorgeous. Her work is creative and unique. Everyone felt so beautiful and she worked individually with my mom, myself and all my bridesmaids to make us all feel great in our hair and makeup.
