Although they won't have everything that's a given, I still found much of what I was looking for…read moreand enjoyed perusing all the many sections. The staff mainly stayed at the back desk which I found not bad because it gave me space to find what I was looking for and more. The prices differed and one thing could cost 7.99, another, $22. So it really just depends, however, I will come back again

This place is a sea of movies, music, games, and geeky merchandise!…read more This Movie Exchange is by far the largest I've been to and has an almost overwhelming amount of media to peruse. As with the other CD Exchanges, you're almost guaranteed to find whatever it is you're looking for and so much more. As a fan of martial arts movies, I really enjoy this location as their selection has consistently been better and varied than some of the other locations'. The trade off is that their game selection isn't as impressive. That's not to say that it isn't good, there is in fact a lot to look through, I've just found more hidden gems at other locations. Though I typically skip over the front part if the store during my visits, it is worth mentioning that there is a TON of music to go through and an impressive amount of memorabilia such as action figures and Funko Pop!s, posters, bags and shirts, and a lot more. Everything is fairly priced and there have been instances where I've paid less than what I would have elsewhere or online. If you're a movie buff looking for a quiet place to pass the time, you absolutely have to visit the Movie Exchange.

I came in for a $10 battery replacement on my Pokemon Emerald GBA game, had it since 2007…read moreChristmas. I never got the guys name but he took it upon himself to try and solder the battery, as he finished he dropped it onto the ground and while I was walking out, I noticed it had came undone from the soldering points. He took it back into where the solder is at and re-did it again, only for him to drop it once more. He tested it on the store's own Gameboy Advance SP tester and the Nintendo trademark looked very distorted and it would freeze, I tried on my own GBA and same issue, he frantically tried cleaning it with isopropyl alcohol and Q-Tips. He admitted that he wasn't as good at soldering but that he knew how to do it, evidently not. I was then referred to their store in Selma to find their store manager, RJ. RJ tried cleaning it with more product, didn't have a store tester for Pokemon Emerald so I used my own Gameboy Advance, still wouldn't play properly. I was shown how bad the solder job was, there was solder haphazardly placed on the board and dots of it on the ROM chips pins. I was offered store credit at first, which I objected, then was offered half store credit and half cash, which I also rejected. RJ had to make multiple calls to his District Manager and even once told me that they're not liable for any damage of the battery as stated on the receipt and a signature I was required to sign, only I never got a receipt or signed anything. The only thing that could make this right was if I was given another copy of Emerald or $300 cash. I ended up walking out with $300 cash instead of my copy of Emerald which had sentimental value. Overall, do not bring any of your items for a battery replacement as they're very inept, what should have been $10, ended up costing me a lot more. TLDR: Game Over Videogames destroys my copy of Pokemon Emerald, tries to claim no liability, then try to give me store credit, ends up taking my Emerald and handing me $300. Do NOT trust these guys with your games.

There's always so much to see and the staff is fantastic!…read more I stop in to this location often and always have a good experience. I'll frequently find things on my list of old games I need to get back or have yet to add to my collection, and there's usually a good selection of gems to look through along with a ton of gaming merch and art from local artists interspersed throughout all the games. The store is always clean and pretty organized despite the sheer magnitude of merchandise packed inside, and I've never had an issue with anything I've purchased from them. There have been several times while I've visited where people who have minimal to no knowledge of games will come in to look for gifts for loved ones and the staff are always extremely patient with all of the questions that they'll be asked and just as helpful in making sure they find what they're looking for or send them to another location that has what they're lacking. I've never seen them miss a phone call, they always seem to be cleaning items that have been brought in or are restocking the store, and they aren't pushy with sales either. Not to mention, they're just genuinely nice people who know their games. If you're in the area, it's definitely worth dropping by to check out. It's such a chill environment to peruse games in and the gaming music they always play in store just makes the experience that much better. Even if you go in purely to window shop, I'm sure you'll find something that will catch your eye!

We are here all the time…read more My fiancé have a number of game shops that we like to visit, but this is one of those that's at the top of the list. We find something every time we visit, and we'll find some gems more often than not. The store is organized super intuitively so we'll find what we're looking for with minimal effort, and if it's not in store the incredibly amazing staff will see if it's at another location for us. This location is also pretty game focused, so if you're looking for a wider selection of merch another location may be more suited for your needs. They do have some good merch, it's just not as much as some of the other locations. That being said, we've found some really cool collectibles here like gaming statues that are just too spectacular to pass up. I will be the first to admit that we look for every excuse to visit Game Over. Zero shame. This place rocks.

I'm officially in love with this chain of stores! Stopped in at one of their San Antonio locations…read more(though I am an Austinite), and I was really impressed particularly by the selection this one boasted. To an extent I realize this is based off what gets brought in by customers looking to sell, but the organization of this store was also top-notch. In addition to ATARI 2600 cartridges, there were a few select Commodore 64 and Intellivision cartridges; on the opposite side of the spectrum, they had a decent wall of PS4 and Xbox One. So practically no matter what generation console games you're looking for, you'll find it here! Loads of games for handhelds as well, including GameGear, PSP, and all the Nintendo handhelds. You'll also find some neat modern "gamer gear" like hats, wallets/lanyards, plushies, etc. Some old guidebooks and manuals. And a fridge full of beverages. This location has a console museum too, where you can step through time and admire how far video game technology has come! Some really obscure consoles in the glass cases, with descriptions of each. So rad! *w* There's also an Artist's Alley toward the back, where you can support local artists who do video game related art. I love seeing all the creativity and how gamers get inspired! I did come in to do an exchange, because one of the ATARI 2600 cartridges I'd gotten from another location turned out to be a dud. The employee, Jake, was cool about it and happily supplied me another copy they had in inventory. Gotta give him some props- he's an excellent multi-tasker. When I came in, it was pretty busy and he was the only one there, but he did great at attending to everyone and cheerfully at that, even with the phone ringing too! This location doesn't have a set-up to test/demo anything in the store (some Game Over Videogames do), but they did seem to have a backroom area where you could schedule to host a party/meet-up, and that's pretty neat.
