Well, hello bestest place to shop for things I've never seen before - and obviously HAVE TO HAVE!…read more We were recently in Eugene, Oregon, staying at the cutest place (The Gordon Hotel) and I had forgotten my phone charger. It's a Samsung - so it's not a "normal" charger. My hubs found a phone store 1.5 miles away... but before heading out to walk there, we asked the lovely folks at the front desk if there was some place closer. Lo and behold, Sassy Kitchen and Gifts was quite literally, right outside the back door ;-) While our purpose was the phone charger - we were giggling with delight with all the COOLEST stuff that Sassy's has! Yes, the phone charger - she had one that is a 3-in-1 so I can charge EVERYTHING I own for the foreseeable future (it now lives in my purse 24/7). But, we also got a rhinestone wine baseball hat, an artsy ceramic wine stopper, lip tints inside mini wine bottles... and if my budget wasn't focused on buying local Willamette Valley wine, I would have bought TONS more stuff. Sassy's had candles with the funniest sayings, wine tumblers with more funny sayings, TONS of gifts for BRIDES and wedding presents, T-shirts galore that were clever and reflected the Eugene area, candies, treats, items for the pets in your life... I could go on all day. Sassy's was for sure one of our BEST finds in Eugene! And, just in case - I don't want you to miss it! - it's "in" the 5th Street Public Market but on the outside corner and not in the inside middle. It's on the corner. Walk towards The Gordon Hotel, stop before you enter, look right, and you'll see the cute Sassy's sign - poof! Do yourself a favor, check out this cute little boutique & enjoy the laughs you'll have shopping. It's a pure delight!

Good selection without being overcrowded, which I appreciate. I found a coin purse, which was awesome. My husband and I were literally talking about me needing one last week. I was excited. Lol. Besides that, I found stickers and a journal. Which I always need new journals. Past that( they specialize in candles, soaps, and home decorations. It is a fun store to explore. The employee or owner working was kind and welcoming. He took his dog with him, who came out to greet us when we were at the counter, so I got my puppy fix while I was in there. I think more business owners should bring their dogs to work just for this reason. I thought the prices were good and the value was high. I spent $30 on the three things I bought, which wasn't bad. Would I return? Yes! Definitely yes. It is a fun store to explore, great owner running it, and very memorable. My husband and I both enjoyed it.

The woman there was really friendly, but they didn't have anything that called to me. Their jewelry selection was ok but limited; mostly rings and some pendants. They sell some chains for the pendants. They also have a lot of the standard Tarot decks, some esoteric and occult-related merchandise, posters, crystals, and so on. Parking was not bad for me when I visited, but there's not a lot of parking on Alder here. And if you don't know how to parallel park, probably best to avoid parking on the street. There's a parking lot about a block and a half down the street.

Before we browsed the vast bookshelves we enjoyed mugs of excellent coffee. And if that wasn't enough we found a secret passage leading to a most amazing homemade donut shop. The donuts are quickly made up to order and they are all bite sized. They really put Munchins to shame. We have been calling the store for a week to set up a private class for glass fusing. We know we…read moreneed to speak to Patricia for this and have left MULTIPLE messages for her to call us back. This was for a special birthday and it's all we wanted to do. Needless to say, we never got a call back, so we were not able to fulfill the birthday wish. The birthday girl and I am severely disappointed, sad and now angry. This is not the experience we wanted or expected. We were in the store six months ago and everyone was falling all over themselves to set up a private class. This isn't how you run a business, it's not how you treat customers, and it's certainly not how you stay in business. The business owner, Cindy, saw my review and said they do not have the staff to offer private classes. Then continued to say to check the website for a form that has info on private events. So which is it? Either you do or you don't. It doesn't matter because they've lost our business and we are now spreading the word to avoid this place because the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. We did get two call backs by the way, one guy told us we needed to talk to Priscilla (who never called us back or would come to the phone) and the other said she taught those classes but wouldn't be available the day we wanted.
