That knowledge has been incredibly helpful in working with him. Dr. Borenstein is extremely knowledgeable and efficient. He has seen a tremendous number of patients over his career, and you can tell he recognizes patterns quickly and knows what he wants to investigate. He does not guess. He asks a lot of questions, orders the appropriate labs, looks at the data, and then knows what to do with it. That is probably what I value most about him. As a telehealth patient, appointments are focused and there is a limited amount of time, so I would encourage anyone seeing him to come prepared. Know your history, write down your questions, and advocate for yourself. If you want an explanation, ask him. He will explain his reasoning, but his style is direct and clinical rather than spending a lot of time simply reassuring you. Personally, I appreciate that. I don't need someone to tell me what I want to hear. I want someone who can look at the entire picture, identify what we may be missing, and give me a plan. And most importantly, the plan is working. I'm seeing significant improvements in symptoms I had dealt with for years, my labs are moving in the right direction, and I feel substantially better than I did when I started. I trust Dr. Borenstein because I've done enough research over the years to ask hard questions, and he has consistently been able to answer them and explain why he is recommending what he is recommending. If you are willing to be an active participant in your own health, I think there is tremendous value in having a physician with his level of experience in your corner.

Dr. Borenstein is a kind and brilliant physician who changed my life in 3 months after, literally,…read morehundreds of doctors over 35 years accomplished nothing. I have suffered with gastrointestinal issues since my late twenties. I have seen over seven gastroenterologists who have done nothing, but the upper and lower endoscopies, and have never provided any remedies or suggestions, whatsoever. They would, literally, do the endoscopies and tell me to find another doctor. I would cycle between days of severe bloating, GERD and constipation to days of extreme, uncontrollable, diarrhea. One factor of my early retirement was the complete loss of bowel/bladder control. I've taken many medications to try to go, or prevent the incontinence, both for GI and urinary. I've endured fourteen weeks of pelvic floor therapy, with an electrical "shock" device, to help both. Nothing worked - until Dr Borenstein put me on supplements that have, essentially, cured me. Due to a Trifecta of childhood abuse, I experienced severe Complex Childhood PTSD. I have suffered from severe depression (contemplated suicide) and anxiety since the age of 8. I have seen many psychiatrists and psychologists over the years. I have taken many different medications for depression, anxiety, ADHD and horrible insomnia. For 2 decades, I have experienced panic attacks ( often multiple times a day) that were only helped my lying flat on the ground until they passed. These have occurred anywhere and anytime, without any external stress. I am always freezing (sweaters in summer and AC set at 85) and other doctors told me to "suck it up." Dr Borenstein is the only doctor to diagnosis my hypothyroidism. After being on medication for a few months, I am finally warm and I have not had a hint of a panic attack. My mood has greatly improved due to the diminished anxiety. Even my skin disorder of plantar psoriasis has dramatically improved. Decades of collapsing, nodding off or falling over with fatigue has dramatically improved. I am becoming more productive and, finally, started to venture out of my fortress of solitude. All of these improvements occurred in 3 months!! Dr. Borenstein is my hero and I am eternally grateful. I am sad about all the wasted years, but thrilled that my life is finally looking up. As for his office manager, Lisa, she has ALWAYS been very kind and helpful to me. I love her. I am astonished by the change in my health.

When coming to my first appointment I met with Donna and she supplied me with all the materials, tips, and information on how to succeed on the HCG diet.
