My air conditioner was not blowing cold air so I called Pro West Heating & Air Conditioning, based on their good reviews. Sean, the technician showed up. He diagnosed the problem and told me that I need to replace the control board and the fan motor. I told him since the heat pump is over 10 years old, I did not want to spend so much money unless he is 100% sure about the problem. Sean assured me that he will guarantee 100% he will fix the problem. He assured me that if the AC is still not working after spending $1500, he said he will fix it for free until it is fixed. So I trusted his words went ahead and spend $1500 on 10 year old heat pump. After Sean replaced the control board and the fan motor, the problem still existed. I called him so many times but every time he comes, he just told me the unit is working fine, even though it is making a loud noise and fan not turning on. Sean told me to just put on E-Heat setting and not use the heat pump. He promised to contact the manufacturer to fix the problem but that never happened. After months and months of waiting, he now tells me there is a gas leak which is the cause of the problem. Really!? So he replaced the control board and fan motor for nothing. He refused to admit his misdiagnosis and refused to keep his promise of 100% guarantee. I had owned and operated a motel for over 20 years and used so many trades people but I never met such a dishonest repairman. I tried to resolve the issue directly but they just do not care. It started with a pin hole leak last year which they came the next day and replaced the pipe. They also found another pin hole drip and other areas that were corroding through and recommended I consider replacing all the lines within the next year. I was suspect of the pipes, with the house being 30+ years old but had been putting it off, so it wasn't a surprise. I have just now had them come back and replace almost all copper except a few ends where bathroom tile would need to be broken. They mentioned that the main lines, especially hot water were the worst and that the end of the lines would last longer. Their recommendation was to replace the ends whenever the bathroom is reno'd. I appreciate this trade-off as it saves me a lot of $$$, time and mess to not have to fix the bathrooms right now. I was very happy with the price. As well, I'd like to add that they were here at 8:00 every day and stayed till at least 4pm. And last but not least, they recommended a dry waller who is taking care of the patching. Nice to have my house back together so quickly.
