Hours are limited at this time. They are open on Friday and Saturday. The business has been sold and is in transition right now. A hard freeze 2 years ago killed off several varieties of lavender which have not been replaced yet. I was told that several thousand plants have been ordered to replenish the varieties. It's definitely not the same place as I've visited in years past. The Gift Shop has been moved to the Tea Room area due to the original owners keeping the section of property where it was located. The Tea Room seems to be on hold right now. With smaller lavender output and Covid limiting the availability of containers to package product, the assortment of items for sale has been decreased. With revitalization of the plants and easier availability of containers I'm sure this will improve quickly. I enjoyed walking the labyrinth, the restful setting and soaking up some peaceful sunshine. I'll definitely be back next year to appreciate all the improvements I'm sure the new owner is gonna add to this idyllic setting. read more

As a local I was disappointed this trip. Zero customer service, little traffic on the farm and no time to make small talk. We enjoy going to stroll the farm and sometimes we buy things and other times we do tea. Today it seemed like no one cared. Our tea and cupcake were 15.00. I thought that was steep. We stopped at this place about five years ago and loved it, and planned to go again this spring but they weren't open yet when we visited New Mexico. They open later on May 17. From reading some of the negative comments I felt compelled to write something. This is a little garden spot with a small lavender field (or two?), shady cottonwood trees, a nice little rock garden, and a gift shop, and lavender lemonade and an ice cream stand. So if you come here to relax and enjoy the nice place they have made out of the desert valley near the Chama River, get some lavender ice cream or lavender lemonade or a small gift or souvenir you should be happy. It is evident it took a lot of work to build this small farm and business. If you are into buying just the right kind of lavender (in season) do your homework. Otherwise just relax and enjoy this tiny farm, it's only 20 or 30 acres. I would suggest calling them to see if they still sell lemonade and ice cream, as it's been a while since we were there. read more

The folks giving poor reviews for customer service seriously need to call down. This place is fantastic! It's exactly what you'd expect from a working farm: when you go you feel like you're visiting a working farm. You can pick your own lavender, they have a little shop, walk the labyrinth, and watch the farm workers do their thing. The shop is not the purpose of going - tea is not the purpose of going - going to the farm is the purpose of going. That said, the shop was lovely and I found the woman working in there warm and pleasant. They make all the products with the lavender grown there in the farm, they know a lot about the growing and you can ask questions. This is not a luxury experience, it's not trying to be. I'm shocked that this place has such mixed reviews, it's a great way to spend a couple hours and the drive out is beautiful! Stop here on your way to ghost ranch and lake Abiquiu. read more

With great anticipation we drove the 2hours from Albuquerque to this lavender field after hearing from friends about it. We've seen incredible purple fields outside of Paris as well as in Sonoma Valley. To say we were underwhelmed would be an understatement. First of all, the tea room was closed. Nothing noted on their website. Picked my bunch of lavender only to learn it was the less fragrant culinary variety. Regular will be ready in 1-2 weeks. Lastly, in the shop you must wear a mask. Hello, have you heard from the President, CDC and our Governor that fully vaccinated folks no longer must wear a mask? Overall, a huge disappointment which has left me feeling duped. read more

We just left and we were less than impressed. Upon arrival we headed to the shed where the sales pitch was given. The locally made products are nice and very expensive. There are dishes (all made in China). That was disappointing to see as the other products are made in Abiquiu. The cashier made a condescending comment about some other guests as they walked over to the tea house. I guess they were supposed to buy some overpriced crap from China before sampling some lavender infused goods? After being ripped off (lip balm had no seal- didn't realize it at first how gross) we headed over to the tea house. We got 2 scones and an iced tea and it cost us just under $14 dollars. The blueberry scone had way too much lavender and was not good. The raspberry scone was just fine! The iced tea was alright. What really rubbed us the wrong way was the older woman we paid after we ate. Our server was not the person who took payment. The server was very nice but seemed flustered by her micro managing boss lady who talked down to her when the server handed her the phone. We handed the server her tip that she earned directly but she put in the communal tip jar. I didn't like that. Why wasn't she answering her own phone? The staff (other than our server) was less than professional. In fact down right rude and mean. Btw the only bathroom is a port a john with a broken hand sanitizer. I think that's really gross that a place that serves food does not have a decent bathroom with a sink. This place does a great job at marketing themselves with gorgeous pamphlets at truck stops but it is unimpressive. We were told virtually nothing about the farm, lavender, offered a demonstration, or Abiquiu. We were not offered a tour (not that's there much to see) it's just BUY our stuff and leave. Avoid. Headed up to Ghost Ranch or the Monastery where the staff is kind and welcoming both to guests and co workers. read more

This place is very well thought out. From the touch of purple everywhere to the wonderfully curated lavender menu. We were there the first day they were opening for the season. Everyone was excited and super friendly. They have a store with all sorts of lavender products from body sprays to lip balm, bath salts to essential oils, as well as culinary lavender. Then they have a tea house with paninis and pasteries. Since they had just opened they only had a few items, but they were delicious. We got their hot and iced lavender tea, a blueberry lavender scone and lavender gelato. All delicious. The blueberries burst fresh in your mouth. Every thing was gluten free and organic. The gelato flavored with honey not sure. If you are anywhere near this area definitely stop! read more

Disappointing... that just about sums up our experience on our recent visit. My wife and I (along with our little dog) had planned a day out, the highlight being to stop in here for lunch. My wife did a little research and checked out their website. It was noted that dogs are not allowed but there is a shaded area to park - this is not strictly correct, yes there are some trees along one side of the car park but any shade is dependent on time of year etc. Little to no shade on our visit and as the cafe is a solid quarter of a mile from the parking area it's not really practical to keep an eye on your vehicle or check on your dog. Luckily it wasn't too hot so we took a stroll across the field (no path) to check out the cafe. The bigger issue was the lunch (or lack there of). Their website menu very clearly offered a few options for lunch and beyond the usual sweet options. However we were told that the lunch options were definitely not available despite what the online menu said and would not be for a few weeks. We were also informed that lavender was an ingredient in EVERYTHING..! Okay I know it's a lavender farm but in 'everything'? That seems a little overkill to me. On a positive note the lady in the cafe was polite and helpful and sincerely apologetic. The farm itself is lovely and if you are into lavender this may be a good fit. However I would not rely on there being any shaded parking, nor would I rely on any accuracy with the online menu and if you don't like to 'eat' lavender (I don't) then any food is to be avoided. Misleading website! My husband and I visited for the second time last week, and were disappointed at the tea house being closed, as we'd checked online to ensure it would be open. When we walked up to the tea house there was a sign that said it was closed. I asked the lady in the gift shop, and all she could say was they were short-staffed. No apology, despite my having said that we'd come specifically to have lunch there. I doubt very much that we'll make the drive out there again. We stopped by this lavender farm on the way to Ghost Ranch. Even though it was unplanned, and I'm not a huge lavender person, I enjoyed visiting the gift shop and tea house. The guy in the gift shop was really helpful in helping my mom choose gifts to bring back home, and gave us some pointers on other things to see in Abiquiu. Walking to the teahouse, you get to walk by where they grow the lavender, which makes a good picture with the mountains in the background. The teahouse was nice. We only sampled the lavender iced tea, which was really refreshing. It was a black tea, but it reminded me more of green tea with a hint of lavender. They had a lot of other goodies though, like scones and gelato. There's a labyrinth across from the teahouse which is good to occupy little kids for a while. If you're just passing through, I'd consider stopping by this place to either shop for the lavender lover in your life or try out some lavender infused food. read more
