Great place to bring your surplus items and know every effort is made to resale them, pass them on to those in need in the local area and find organizations in the local area that could use them. The store is very clean and you still find many vintage items, and older items. There is a great chance to bid in the silent auction on items that are hard to find. One of my favorite thrift stores in Mesa. It's local and is organized very well always has great sales and every day is new sale category. This thrift store is very nice. Furniture, plateware, glassware, and shoes are all organized in a way that it reminds me more of a consignment shop. The prices are much higher than one would expect for these things. Examples are couches over $100, a set of plates for $50 used tennis shoes $40. The items were in excellent condition, but above my thrift budget. The clothes prices/ selection were on par with goodwill. There's a fixed price for tops and pants. The tops were around $7. I found 2 blouses and stood by the registers and was ignored by both cashiers. One cashier looked me in the eyes, I asked for the designated place to pay and she didn't respond. She turned around and began a conversation with another employee. I grabbed an Andrew Jackson ($20) and handed it to the kind woman and said In leaving with these 2 tops. She looked confused, but took my hard earned dollars and I left the premises without my change. All in all a good trip. I will be back! read more

They seemed to have some decent prices on the art work and media. But the toy section was very sparse and a lot of things were in plastic bags that most of them were open and there was a sign that said they would not sell any open bags. So pretty much all toys were not able to be purchased (while I was there, there were two younger kids that were over playing with all of the items. Idk if they opened them or what, but I think they belonged to a worker cause a lady came over and yelled at them that she could "here them all the way up at the register" and then she told them to be quiet and just walked away and left them again.) I think it's great that they try to look out for military families, which being one made me want to check this place out. But, unfortunately, I don't think I'll be back :( read more

This was a very nice thrift shop. Everything was nice and neat and the prices were very decent. I went in knowing that I needed nothing in the way of jewelry and I ended up getting 4 pairs of earrings! Staff was very friendly! I would shop here again if I lived in the area. read more

Had a good visit. Big place with lots of good stuff to move around and find some treasures. Spent a good hour just wondering though. Seems to be well stocked with a few exceptions, a little bit of everything for everyone. Prices are along with the other thrift stores in the area.The service was nice and helpful. **November 2021 Visit** I was on a big thrift kick and wanted to check out all the local second-hand shop to find some treasures. Purple Heart was on my list to check out but unfortunately it'll likely be my last visit. Pros: Very large space with items clearly marked in designated areas. There was a dedicated furniture section and a bathroom available for customers. Parking is ample. Cons: Prices are about double (or more) on what I would pay at other comparable charity shops. Clothes in general seemed more worn and older. Neutral: Country music. Staff/Patrons did not wear masks. read more

This was my favorite thrift store until this year, 2024. I loved the discounts but also felt comfortable paying full asking prices. However, in the past year there have been numerous changes and very few for the better. The two biggest areas of disappointment: delivery and electronics/appliances. Major increase in delivery costs that will often double the price of an item and it's only one item per delivery. Testing of electronics/appliances are not done in-house anymore, so it's even worse buy at your own risk and the volunteers can't help because they're not allowed to even plug something in before bringing it onto the floor. The reason I gave it two stars instead of one star is the price tags. The new price tags are more descriptive and adhere to the item better, which hopefully cuts down on crook customers trying to swap tags for "better" deals. read more

The jewelry is picked over by management either they take it for themselves or sell it to their friends. They are rude for the most part not so much a charity the owner owns many places surrounding the store is making a lot of money . I wouldn't shop there much never feels right the clothes smell and there isn't anything nice. I have been to Purple Heart countless times and never ever had a bad experience, until the last time I went. The Old Lady with short white hair who was working behind the "boutique" counter wouldn't stop following me around the store after I picked up a hat that I was going to purchase, as I was browsing the rest of the store as one usually does I noticed her multiple times staring at me and following after a while she asked me "are u going to buy that or steal it?" I then continued to tell her that I am a very regular customer and I come in almost everyday and she then proceeded to say she wasn't accusing us only asking. They need to start checking the mental capacity and health of their employees that lady was out of it lol. read more

The man with the white hair that sits in the furniture section of this thrift store, is the rudest man I have ever met. He told me at 4:50 when they close at 5:00, that I need to stop looking around and leave because they were closing, I was just taking a look at a pair of boots and he made me feel extremely uncomfortable. I have came here a lot but will steer clear of this man and his aggressive demeanor. read more

The old lady with short white hair and glasses behind the boutique counter was staring at me the whole time whilst I was shopping. I frequent here quite often and have never seen an employee do that. PROS: All of the people, staff and volunteers are super nice. It's a clean, well-organized store. Prices have gotten higher over the past year, but are still mostly reasonable. CONS: The reasons I don't shop here too often are the boutique, the "auction" spot, the Ebay store and the fact that the employees/volunteers are allowed to purchase items before they ever hit the floor. The boutique is ridiculously priced (Ebay prices or above, not even Ebay sold prices, but listed prices, so not usually realistic). The auction counter/room/system/Ebay store is particularly insulting. You are a thrift store, please act like it. I do not shop at your store to pay collectible prices for items that people donated to you and that you pay hundreds of dollars a month to store. Why not just price things more reasonably and move them quicker and knock out the storage fees? Same goes to paying Ebay fees. Thrift stores conducting business in this way are greedy. The fact that the employees and volunteers can shop not only on the floor but in the back room is a deal breaker for me. I've had employees tell me the great finds they purchase before an item is on the floor. Why should I bother coming to your store when the employees are grabbing the good stuff first? Most thrift stores do not allow any of that. It would be nice if you did a better job vetting the items you put out. Lots of broken/chipped/damaged items. Electronics that say "tested and works", but the battery compartment is completely corroded. The battery compartment was obviously never unscrewed and opened. That's disappointing to a little kid on a non-returnable toy. read more

I am moving to the east coast, so I made an easy online appointment for them to pick up the contents of my apartment. The scheduled day they call a half hour before to let you know they are on the way. The guys that moved the furniture were nice and I felt good donating to our deserved veterans. read more

I love good thrift shop with plenty of options! I was driving by and stopped inside to check out what lies ahead.. Boy was I surprised with all the different department including furniture section. We bought some Bose headphones from the locked case. We assumed they were tested before being sold. They were $50. I asked the return policy, which is a credit to the store. We assumed they were in good condition. Turns out they were broken. I felt like an exception to the store credit could be applied, and a credit back to our card, since the headphones are useless. Again, I knew the return policy, but in this case, I felt strongly an exception could be made, since it was defective and it was a $50 purchase, not just a piece of clothing, etc. for a few dollars. After trying to get my money back, I lost they would not budge. Sometimes you just do the right thing for the customer outside the policy. I was expecting an apology for selling a defective item, but instead got the policy repeated to me. They weren't even nice about it. The prices are very high for a thrift store to begin with, and I was on the fence about spending$50. Now I know I will never shop there again. Of course, after I figure out how to spend the $50 credit. read more
