I sent my parents some springtime in winter- the arrangement showed up on the day scheduled. however, they were left on our front step - cold concrete in February without any packaging or protection from the elements. My mother happened to open the front door and there they were. When I let the shop know about the lack of delivery service - no knock or attempt to have the door answered - their answer was to tell me the current temperature today (50) so the flowers were fine being left on the steps. What a disappointment from a store that I had been using since my prom in the 90s. I would recommend finding another florist in Point Pleasant. read more

Spoke to Jackie who is extremely efficient. She asked what the deceased's favorite colors are and tries to match an arrangement to how much you want to spend. In our difficult time, had a hard time deciding what to have written on our ribbon. She even comes up with something perfect. The employees here are amazing! I only get my special occasion flowers from here, whether it's for prom or Mother's Day. I had a recital to go to for a friend and was supposed to pick up a custom bouquet on my way home from work. I wound up running late, and called the store knowing that they were closing soon. The woman who answered was a sweetheart, I wish I had gotten her name. She actually left the bouquet outside for me and allowed me to come back and pay the next day. I've never been so grateful! It's good to know there are still nice people in this world. I will continue to come back, and refer all of my friends here as well. read more

Last year, I found Purple Iris Flower shop by Googling "Florist, Pt Pleasant Beach, NJ" and I believe they weren't even on the first page. But I went down the list checking out the websites and arrangements and I have to say that their arrangements and prices blew me away. I didn't pay much for a small floral bouquet that was sent to a family friend but I was very happy with their prompt service. I found out later that the bouquet was soooo beautiful that it was literally the topic of conversation for a while. They recently sent me an email, reminding me that last years bouquet recipient was having a birthday soon and they offered to do an arrangement again. Unfortunately, the recipient had just passed on that same day, and they were the first company I thought of to make her floral funeral arrangement. Again, they came through, the arrangement was just gorgeous. The staff was informed of the woman's passing and they made her arrangement extra, extra special!!! Thank you again Purple Iris! R.I.P. I had an extremely unfortunate experience with the very poor quality of the flowers and the complete lack of responsiveness from the owner, who could not be bothered to return my phone calls. I ordered 15 arrangements for a funeral lunch and everyone who received one as a remembrance reported that they were dead within 48 hours- greens included- which is pretty surprising. The shop delivered the flowers to an air conditioned restaurant ballroom. I sent pix to the shop to show them that the flowers and greens were obviously old- but again no reply. This was a $1000 order. Please don't make the same mistake I did if you are planning a large order for an important occasion. I will be making a complaint with the Better Business Bureau given the complete lack of response From the owner, who was always conveniently unavailable. read more

Disappointing is the only word to use to describe the work from Patricia at Purple Iris for my sons wedding. From the first meeting to the flower design she provided was absolutely terrible. Her work showed she could have cared less . Bare minimum, underwhelming and a get it done could care less is what we received from our planning meeting to the flower presentation. The brides flowers okay not amazing..the mothers flowers were totally unimaginative and very forgettable and the venue flowers were the worst . She made it clear she could card less from the planning meeting to the delivery . DO NOT give Purple Iris your business it's too important a day to allow someone to provide such sub standard work. Patricia doesn't deserve to be part of your day. Her work showed she could care less and was only about the cash. So disappointing and sad because there was nothing we could do to fix what she did... you are at her mercy and she could care less about her craft and excellence of service. read more

My family and I have used Purple Iris for years. The floral design and customer service are excellent. I wanted birthday flowers for my sister, but her allergies were bothering her. Purple Iris sent her a basket of bright pink, African Violet plants. It was perfect and delivery was super fast. Not only will my sister have this lovely burst of Spring color for her birthday, the violets will be a nice centerpiece for Easter, too! read more

Very unhappy with the service received and the arrangement sent. I was advised that the arrangement would be better in a vase, but assured it would look the same as pictured. It did not. In addition, the recipient was to be contacted and if the shop did not get a hold of her, I was told that they would bring the flowers back to be kept in a climate controlled environment, and they would attempt to redeliver on Monday. That was not done, and an almost $200 arrangement was left outside for two full days and overnight. After advising the shop that I was unhappy and asked for a refund, they only offered to give me the $10 deliver fee back or take the flowers back from my mourning friend and redeliver a new arrangement. In addition, they went to my friend's home (who was mourning the tragic loss of her father) to ask if she was satisfied with the flowers because they got a call that she was not. I've never heard of this happening ever. The shop should have admitted their wrong doing leaving the flowers outside for so long and had no right to invade the privacy of my mourning friend during this most difficult time. If I could give less than one star I would. read more

I received a basket with purple violets for my birthday from my son from Purple Iris. The basket had a bow, plastic butterfly and one and a half violets. It was cute but kind of skimpy with such few plants. When I put the basket on the table I noticed a fat aphid in one of the leaves and possibly a few more on another. I did not want it to infect my other plants so I called the store and spoke with Patty. They picked up the plant and I had trouble choosing a replacement as selection was limited. I never received an apology but was told that the violets came from the wholesaler and would take another day, she couldn't guarantee the condition of the violets and that she did not see any aphids on the violets. I did receive a replacement order and when ordering was told I would get a small arrangement. No matter how much my son paid for the order as customers should be treated with respect. read more

What a great experience I had ordering from Purple Iris Flower Shop. I looked on their site to find an arrangement for my daughter's birthday but I didn't quite find what I wanted so I called to see what they could do. I was so pleased with their customer service! Patricia was wonderful. She was so friendly and accommodating and took all of my information as quickly as I spoke it. As soon as we hung up, I checked my email to find a detailed order confirmation. The flowers were delivered with no issues, and they were gorgeous. My daughter was thrilled! The shop did such a great job and was emailed a delivery confirmation when it was received. Met with the owner, Patricia I think her name is, over a year ago when I was checking out vendors for our wedding. I was appalled at the way she talked to me. I had a hunch she was not wanting to take on our wedding as it was smaller and a smaller budget. She said things to me like, "you don't have your bridesmaids dresses so you shouldn't even be here" um... Seriously.. Who says that to someone? And that's a LIE because tons of brides pick flowers before bridesmaids dresses. I was providing my own custom bottles (I had already collected sea glass colored bottles and we were doing 8-10 bottles per table with mixed stems) and she wanted to charge me a minimum just because I had bought my own bottles!! What the heck!!! What a rip off! That doesn't even make sense to me. I legit got another florist to gladly just charge me for the stems and didn't charge me some ridiculous surcharge just because I wanted to use my own supplies for my centerpieces. I was just so turned off by her attitude and lack of willingness to work with our budget. She came off as fake and arrogant and like she couldn't even be bothered with my wedding. Don't worry, I took my business elsewhere. You should remember this the next time you meet with a bride having a smaller wedding. So glad I took my $$ elsewhere and i received rave reviews on my flowers! :) hope your customer service has improved since we met. read more
