My MIL sent flowers to my mom and paid a fortune for a basket of live flowers. What showed up was a giant basket... with 5 tiny plants. The giant yellow ribbon/ bow was bigger than the plants! 3 days later and the live flowers are already dying!!! When my MIL called them to say the bouquet was underwhelming, they offered her a 15% discount on future purchases... which she won't be making because this one was so disappointing. Strange experience at Mr. Alan's Florist for my first visit the other day. Walked in and felt like I was in a jungle. Woman comes up to help. I told her I am looking to purchase flowers to give to my fiance after her bridal shower ends. She then asked me "how much" which I had no idea how to respond to because I wasn't clear on if she meant price or the number of flowers. She then asked if 25 was good and again I had no clue. I said sure and she disappeared off into the back. After about 15 minutes she reappeared with a gigantic bouquet. For a minute I was nervous that it was going to cost me $40-$50, but much to my surprise it was only $21. The bouquet was beautiful but I did have to take out the peacock feathers and cat tails because I thought it was a little much. Most importantly, my fiance absolutely loved them. It has been several days now without resolution. The florist does not want to help us. So in order to stop the insanity, I chose to have daughter take a discount to go back to her account. The reason this was done was because the florist wanted more money (to get the flowers back) in order to give a refund, which is insane to me ... this is not a refund. BELIEVE OTHER BAD REVIEWS. Complete and total rip-off. Ordered a $70 arrangement with a $20 discount but received a $10 equivalent bouquet if I had purchased from Shoprite. Ordered "Sapphire Skies" from Blooms Today which is in a blue square vase with purple statice, cream roses (1/2 dozen pictured) lilies, spray roses, and mini carnations. What I received was a small plain common vase with carnations and daisies with a lily and 2 roses (1 of which was already browning despite not being opened). $50 really? Bait and switch. I understand occasionally necessary to substitute slightly but not cutting the value in half and completely changing the look. Blooms Today has wonderful customer service and is reshaping (my request in lieu of credit) with a different florist. read more

He knew what time, so he was telling me to get ready for the arrival because I live on a military base and would have to go get them from the gate. The phone call I received was from the shop asking if they could deliver them Sunday because they couldn't get on base. The driver never called me to tell me he was anywhere near base. I called back to arrange delivery for Monday because I needed to leave town, but they showed up on Sunday anyway. Luckily, I hadn't left yet! My card was soggy! Mr. Alan is a very rude and pompous man - he has personally treated me very poorly in the past, for absolutely no reason. His marketing materials are ridiculous because he has his face plastered all over everything with inflammatory comments about his shop being the original, the one, the only, accept no substitutes because Alan's Fabulous Florals is located in the same town. Ugh - it just makes him look petty and angry, which he really is. He also pushes the cheapest flowers and uses tacky accessories and filler in his arrangements. Do not go here if you want something specific. I brought a picture of a simple white rose arrangement for a memorial service. What I received was not even close to what I asked for. I had order flowers from avasflowers.net thinking that it was an actual florist in Florida. To find out that it was only a flower service for other companies. I mistakenly put myself as the recipient, but quickly changed it to the right person, and was said to be notified, but was never told that it would be in a form of an email. I received flowers from Flowers on Route 88 that Saturday. The delivery person was very nice and said happy birthday to me. I then told her that I had modified the order to go to Florida. She said oh my God I will try to help you as much as possible. She then got the florist on the phone, and I explained the situation to her. She and return said that she would get back to me as soon as possible that day. Never got a phone call. I then got the flowers back on Sunday afternoon on my doorstep. In return called florist and their phones were turned off. I then called on Monday to let them know of the situation, florist said again that she would get back to me as soon as possible. She never did call me. I then called her again on Tuesday or Wednesday that week and she said she would get back to me again. And never did! The flower arrangement was not what I had ordered at all. According to the description. And the flowers did not last even a week. Very disappointed with this florist, for not following up with me. read more

Through Teleflora I ordered the deluxe Faith Hill "Colors of Christmas" centerpiece for my Mother's table. This centerpiece is beautiful, should have contained about two dozen white and red roses, and is described on the website as: "The festive red centerpiece includes red roses, white spray roses, red spray roses, variegated holly, white pine and noble fir. Approximately 15" W x 17" H. This item is hand-arranged and delivered by a Teleflora florist." Unfortunately for me Teleflora sent the order to Mr. Alan "The Original Florist" located in Brick, N.J. When I visited my mother the day after delivery I saw that what was delivered was terrible, something that was very embarrassing to me and disappointing to my mother. On previous years the centerpieces that I sent to her were proudly displayed in the center of her dining room table, this was on a folding TV table in the side room. The centerpiece contained the correct bowl and two red candles, but that's where the similarity to what she was supposed to receive ends. Instead of two dozen red and white roses this had a half dozen red roses and a half dozen red carnations. For filler the florist used a few ribbons and what can only be described as pine tree branches, so many that you couldn't see the few flowers that were there unless you looked at it from straight down. I took several photos to document it because, unless you see it, you can't visualize how bad it is, one of which can be seen here: http://tinyurl.com/7r8vrem Mr. Alan ignored my several attempts to contact him, until I attached a photo with one of my letters. I received an email reply asking that I call him because he "did not have my telephone number," although I had sent it to him several times and it was taken when the order was placed. I called and spoke to Mr. Alan, who agreed that the centerpiece was ugly but said that it wasn't his work, even though the card with his face on it was clearly visible in the photo, in the arrangement just as he had placed it. Mr. Alan said that he would "make this right" took my telephone number because he had to "investigate what happened" and said that he would call me back. That was the last I heard from him, he hasn't called back and has ignored several emails requesting his investigation findings. While all this was going on I had also been attempting to resolve this through Teleflora. I received a nice apology from "Angela Wind, Resolution Specialist," and a coupon for 30% off my next order. I wrote back and told her that I didn't want a discount; I wanted my mother to receive the flowers that I had paid for. I then received another nice apology from "Joey P." who offered to send me a 20% refund. Again I replied that the only thing I wanted was for my mother to receive the flowers that I had paid for, but this time I attached a photo. I received another nice apology, and this time "Angela W." wrote that, at their request, before Christmas the florist would be picking up the old centerpiece and delivering the correct one. That was acceptable to me, so I thanked Angela and told her that I would let her know when it was delivered. Christmas has come and gone, but the correct centerpiece was never delivered. Now that Christmas is over I no longer want the centerpiece, I don't want anything from Teleflora except a refund, so that I can get my mother something else for Christmas. read more

The florist obviously did not use fresh flowers and I guess thought they could get away with using up their old flowers. Both my fiance and I were extremely disappointed this Valentine's Day in the floral arrangement I received from Alan's. First of all, my fiance ordered the arrangement in advance from FTD to arrive on Valentine's Day. The day came and went and no flowers ever arrived. Then, Wednesday the flowers finally arrived. They came with 12 roses, 2 of which looked healthy and the rest were black and a handful of carnations that hadn't even bloomed yet. As of Friday those roses were totally dead as well as some of the carnations in the arrangement. My fiance complained on Wednesday about the late arrival and the quality of the bouquet and we received a second one Thursday. That one was slightly better with roses that were healthy, but the whole arrangement was changed. Not impressed. I wouldn't recommend at all and we won't use this florist or FTD again. read more

I would not recommend this florist to anyone. I received a sympathy arrangement with roses in it which were already a little brown at the top. The roses neve opened and the lilies also turned brown. I called to voice my concerns and no call back was received. I called again and they said since it was delivered on Sunday and I did not call until Tuesday they could not do anything. The funeral services were Monday and Tuesday during stressful time it wasn't my top priority. The whole arrangement was dead within 4 days. Since you are not professional enough to check up on my order then I will tell you how horrible the arrangements were. Everything I did not want was done. So sad you and the shop cannot take the time to understand what a person is asking for even with the pictures, emails descriptions and multiple phone calls. Then to get there to find a teller that can't greet me nicely but with attitude of " I don't know what you are talking about" she couldn't ask for my name look up the order and then take care of me. The designer has no imagination or can do anything else other than a tight bridle bouquet, just what I hated to see, a round tight same old same old. I also said thin and long to fit the table, you couldn't see the teal bowls and some flowers were losing the petals before the night even started. BEST OF ALL you are off on Saturdays which you did not tell me but instead you said "can't wait to meet you too".
