It was everything we needed and the cost was more than fair. The owners were amazing to work with, and they were easily accessible for communication. IF I had to find anything negative to say it is not about the Arvada Community Room itself, but more the City of Arvada and it's small amount of public parking in the area that they have built as a heavy entertainment area. Most of the parking is street parking and a small public parking lot that is usually pretty full. There is a parking garage about a block away that is easily accessible though. Again that is not a a dig on the Arvada Community Room but rather frustration with the city for their lack of planning.

As a guest, I loved the place. it was airy, spotless, shiny and tasteful, with a lot of dancing room. The ceiling was quite high, avoiding the closed-up feeling of some halls. The lighting was just right. The tablecloths, napkins and chair covers were fresh and bright. If I ever have a big enough event in Denver, this would be the first place I will talk to. I don't know if the meal or the service was catered versus provided by the hall. Either way, ask them who provided the food on August 5 2023 and be sure to talk to whoever that was. Yum. The service people were extremely good, practically invisible but always there. Small children at the reception had a pizza buffet if they so chose.

Jeff Fisette and Janelle were fantastic to work with. Jeff is the food and beverage manager and so kind and charismatic and Janelle was our day of coordinator and beyond sweet. Bailey was even accommodating and friendly to work with when she needed to step in. I couldn't do a five-star review because of the event director, Macey. We began working with Savanna, which is a big reason why we booked the venue after meeting with her. I don't know where to begin with Macey. I understand she was newish at the time and maybe even was going through some personal issues. She was not only unresponsive and annoyed that I contacted her more than a couple of times but on top of that very rude to both myself and my family. Countless items that we agreed upon in the beginning of planning did not come through, and we were charged for two items we didn't receive on wedding day. When setting up the room, three hours before the ceremony (we hired a day of coordinator to do this) she told my aunt, "Good luck" and walked away. The cherry on top was when she called me at 0900 the day after our wedding to tell us to come and get the décor items left from the night before. We had previously agreed that we could leave the items there until 1pm. Upon arriving I had asked Macey why this needed to be done right now, her response: "well, I need to use my office don't I". Macey does not care about you or your event, she just wants your payment and quantity trumps quality. I know there are labor shortages but Applewood really does need to hire an event coordinator with at least some experience that kind of likes people or at least pretends to care

The location is also very convenient as it's close to some good restaurants as well as larger stores such as Target and Best Buy. Pretty good for a quick two-night stay before moving on with my travels. If the remodel does address these issues, then I'd say this is safely a 4/5 or maybe even a 5/5. However based on my only experience there, I can't really give it more than a 3/5.

They have hot options like scrambled eggs, omelettes, pancakes, oatmeal, as well as the typical breads, pastries, cereals you get in a continental breakfast. I went with yogurt and fruit and granola every day which was very nice. The fruit is the typical mix you get out of a bucket, heavy on the cantaloupe and honeydew which was a tad slimy and tart. Overall though, it was super convenient to have this spread and it's really a lot nicer than a lot of other breakfasts you get at other hotels. Cozy couch. Views of the mountains in the distance. It's illegal to vape in public places, but they don't seem to care. They had signs on the door saying THC products had to be taken to a grassy area across the parking lot, but it wasn't enforced, and that would still be illegal because it is illegal to use smoke or vape THC in any public or open space. The second hand vape was as bad or worse than any second hand smoke I have experienced. I left with a headache, sore throat, and feeling poorly. The jam session was also disappointing. The house band played from 7 to 8:10, took a break, and then came back and played another song. It was 8:25 before anyone was invited to join. The jam was advertised to go to 9 so it wasn't much of a jam opportunity. Also, the they decided to squeeze the band into a little spot in the walkway that was in the middle of all the vaping. People walking by had to be careful not to bump the horn players, and the horn players had to move to avoid being hit by them as they were playing. This was unnecessary because they have a big room with chairs, guitars on the wall, etc available in the back of the place that appeared to be setup for the jam. It made no sense and created a terrible jam environment.
