We stopped by for a late lunch on Saturday, decided to try this place over Cowiche Canyon. So glad we did! When we walked in we were the only guests and were greeted kindly and promptly. Sat ourselves and she brought us some cucumber water (yumm )! We ordered drinks, a piña colada and a martini ( pineapple) both were excellent! We were here on a Saturday night for dinner and drinks before a stage show at the Capital Theatre. Plenty of free street parking early then we just walked to the theatre. Not too busy when we arrived but eventually was jammed packed with big parties. I had a delicious lemon drop & Hubs had a perfect dirty martini, we shared a steak salad and loaded Mac-n-Cheese that were both fantastic. Atmosphere was lively and fun, several small pub tables along with tables for larger parties. Servers were attentive and helpful. Also the whole place is 21+ only which we liked. We went at 5pm on a Saturday and there were plenty of tables to choose from. Happy Hour menu is legit with cocktails around $6-$7. What a great price! Happy Hour is 3-6p daily. I ended up ordering two margaritas... they were delicious! Not too sweet & fresh fruit added with a salted rim. Yum! I ordered the avocado fries & chicken nachos from the hh menu. Avocado fries were amaaaazing! Such a great creamy texture with the fried batter. The chicken nachos were just okay.. chicken was very bland and queso on top lacked flavor as well. My husband ordered the bacon cheeseburger and it was huge! 1/2 pound patty with delicious rosemary fries. Overall, we had a great time. Highly recommend! read more

I stopped in to get takeaway for our road trip, and was greeted by Adrienne (apologies if the spelling is incorrect). Adrienne was beyond gracious, and offered me cucumber water while I waited at the bar. We are vegetarians, and fortunately they were able to make us their cheeseburger with vegan meat alternative. The food came out quickly and was absolutely delicious. We only regret that we didn't have the time to dine inside. I went to Purrr tonight because of the the great reviews. I was not disappointed. I sat at the bar and had the Hot Mama burger. I think it was the best and most flavorful burger that I ever had. So glad Purrr reopened after the pandemic closures! This place has a Seattle vibe. The chef is excellent and the menu changes as availability of great ingredients changes. I personally love that Purrr is adults only. They have a full bar with signature drinks as well, so take a risk and order something out of the ordinary. The waitstaff then took our order. At 6:20 we were asked if we wanted more drinks. We declined, reminded them we still hadn't received the appetizer and said we were trying to make a 7:00 show. I'll stay away from all the corny cliches that come to mind with the name of this gem of a restaurant... after a long day of seminars, my co-workers and I decided to walk downtown and try Purr, as the reviews looked good and we were all starving from all the listening done all day. The hostess and the bar tender welcomed us in and we quickly were seated at the bar, semi busy for a Tuesday night, cute decor and warm atmosphere made for a great start to the meal, Adrienne was great at helping with food a drink selections, a quick to have drinks served. Two out of the three of us decided on the brisket burger, and the other ordered the clubhouse sando, order came out quickly, as we were told more about the restaurant and downtown. The brisket burger did not disappoint, big and juicy with lots of bbq flavor, definitely recommended. The clubhouse was huge, with lots of turkey, bacon, tomato, and lettuce, half was more than enough for a meal. We all had the crispy cooked just right fries, to round out the comfort food meal, the beers were local and perfect with the meal, as well as a few other drinks from the bar. Our favorite was the rib eye that came with a delicious cilantro sauce (not chimichurri). The burger was way bigger than what I expected, but I felt there were some hard pieces within the meat, like bones..? The restaurant is gorgeous inside, but we won't be back. Pros: The shrimp tacos were delicious and the right level of spicy. The burger had a good taste and their fries were delicious. The bacon on the burger was thick and delicious. Cons: It took 30 minutes to get our drinks. Then both meals (tacos and burger) were super sloppy to eat (which is ok except we only got 2 napkins). My husband also didn't finish his burger because the bottom bun was soaking wet with grease. The avocado fries are also more of a novelty then something worth eating. Unfortunately we also receives our appetizers of the avocado fries AFTER we had finished our meal, so that was a waste of $12. The waitress wasn't the friendly, or rude, but very neutral to us being there. I don't expect overly friendly, but a greeting would have been nice. While I understand the restaurant may be understaffed, like most of America, it also took us over 5 minutes to be greeted by a waitress even though we saw them standing and waiting for food. Also - don't sit by the front door when it's cold. Their double door system DOES NOT keep the cold out and you get bursted with cold air every time someone leaves. While we are still not totally sure what the name refers to, we decided we need to come check this place out after the long awaited opening. It's located just around the corner from the Capitol theater, it is definitely going to service great place to go either before or after shows! The place is a very unique field... And not necessarily in a bad way, just got away that's hard to describe. There's really nice wood paneling along the walls, the tables and chairs are all very nice, and the flooring is very high-quality. The one thing that we kept noticing and that we'd heard others, Dan is that the place is very open. Again, not in a bad way, but in the way that almost makes you feel like this is a really nice cafeteria, or a really nice gymnasium is hosting dinner. I'm not sure what could be done to change it, other than taking some of the tables out of the middle of the room, but at the end of the day it's not a big deal. It doesn't really take away from the Ambience, it just makes it a little bit different than expected. The majority of the drinks that they serve are very fruit forward and sweet. There's definitely a Mexican theme that runs through many of them, and we really liked it! There were a couple of drinks that were familiar as well as a Plenty that were new to our pallet. The appetizers we had were phenomenal. We had some Thai chili shrimp which had just a little bit of kicking in really nicely done. We also had one called arancini - they too are delicious. They're lightly breaded risotto balls filled with cheese and spinach. Service and basil in over a red sauce. They were very Italian in nature and were quite nice! We shared a hangover burger and this one had a ton of potential, but still has a little bit of work to be done. It had ham, cheesan egg and some really good bacon. The only issue with this burger was the fact that it definitely needed salt. Not a tough thing to fix, but definitely one that needs to be fixed for it to be a legit burger. There were a lot of different salad, burger and larger plates available. They have a farm to table focus which works perfectly for the area! All in all, they've got some great things going and a couple things that can use some work, but most are easy fixes. Definitely a spot that's worth your time checking out. read more
