Stopped in with friends for a late dinner, ordered the large taco pizza, what an excellent choice, about 18 slices for 3 of us to enjoy, very filling and had about 11 pieces to take home. Talked to Elliot ( the owner) and learned a lot about the history of the place- amazing job done to preserve that over 100 years of being many businesses before the bar and grill. Will be back to try the Philly Cheesesteak sandwich recommended by Elliot. Great price for 3 people to have dinner and a few beers for around $50.00. This is a cool bar in the middle of Naches WA. The bar itself is from 1885, hence the name. Our server was the only staff working when we were there for lunch, so service was a little slow since she was also doing all the cooking. Food was good but I'd def have them hold the pineapple next time on our vegetarian pizza - it didn't work well for my taste. FYI you can bring your underage family members here, they just can't sit at the bar. Lots of tables available. read more

A friend and I had lunch at Van's last Saturday. This was our first time there and we were both pleasantly surprised. Our server Trenton was very friendly and attentive. We could tell that he enjoyed his job and interacting with the customers. The hamburger was very good but we couldn't really taste the pickles on the burger. Perhaps more pickles or a more flavorful variety of pickle may shape up the burgers. The french fries were superb, crispy and not too salty. The old fashioned bar experience was enjoyable for both of us. We will definitely be back to see Trenton, eat some good food and have a cold brew. read more

We stopped in here on a lazy Monday afternoon when we were looking for a burger and something new. Lucky for us, this place satisfied both of those desires! This bar and Grill, emphasis on the bar, is right in the heart of downtown Naches and definitely seems like it's a local watering hole. We got here for a very late lunch and were the only two people not sitting at the bar. There was three or four people the rotated in and out while we were there and it's definitely a collegial department chair. Very small town feel to the place with the waitress who sat us, took our order, And went and made her food. She was lovely! Given a late lunch and the lack of breakfast, my better half and I were both on the hungry side. I decided to try the Mount Clemens burger and my better half at the western burger. The Mount Clemens burger was impressive! A couple of patties, lots of bacon, cheese, Canadian bacon and about half salad on top. It was big enough that it ultimately had to be deconstructed. We were offered a "Burger diaper" - any ingenious way to keep the burger contained with a coffee filter! They definitely get extra points for ingenuity. My better half's western burger was also delicious. The barbecue sauce that they used was quite lovely and we got an extra bit just to dip the leavings in. We both got salads instead of fries and I have to tell you, there was something strangely comforting about getting a salad with black olives and old-school croutons from a box. It's probably been 20 years since I've had those croutons, but it definitely took me back to childhood! It was not the fanciest salad I've had, but it was definitely one of the more nostalgic! The lady who took care of us was very nice and did a perfect job checking on us. To be fair, the place wasn't busy so I'm not sure if this level of attention is present all the time. While we were there however, it was very nice! I was way more impressed with the burgers here than I was expecting to be. This is definitely a spot where we will come when we're both feeling like being full after the meal! read more

Came in for Monday night football. Place was full with one poor gal working the bar, phone, grill, taking orders. We watched as the owner sat on his butt drinking a beer and wouldn't even get up to answer the phone. The poor waitress was in tears. I really wanted to go yell at him. Instead I won't be coming back. The fries were good but the burger was pretty bad. Huge bun with really dry small patties. Perhaps it was due to the one gal doing 4 people's jobs. The business is family friendly. I take my kids there regularly for pizza! Lots of people I hear say the steaks are amazing and the cook, knows her stuff! All the waitresses are awesome and I highly recommend Saturday night karaoke. Taking my kids tomorrow night, they love the music on karaoke night! read more

I love coming to Van's. Time after time, the food is AMAZING. The owners are so dedicated to good service and the historic building is so cool. Sorry to see the whiner about the resumes.. they WILL take your resume. Good news, honey, they tell you straight up what to expect and instead of trying to get them in some sort of trouble (tattle tale, lol), GO WORK SOMEWHERE ELSE if their policy doesn't suit your government submission. Our party of 14 stopped Thur. 2/6/20 about 2 in the afternoon after our elk feeding trip. Crystal didn't blink an eye, she went right to work making us feel welcome. Was so sad to go here and have a lack luster experience. We waited for 2 hours for our food in a bar that had 9 patrons. We went with another couple and they were served and we weren't served out order for another half hour. Never got asked for another drink until after our meal. So one drink and cold food for one of us and warm food for us... just wasn't what I expected. I will say our burger was great when it did come back but our fish was way over cooked. read more

I already said I wouldn't spend money there again and I didn't. A friend bought me a drink. It was tolerable. Then I had a "Bar Rescue" moment. The owner let two guys ride in on horses. One immediately freaked out (as it should) barged into band equipment belonging to friends. Yes, some customers laughed. It's not funny. You're not only freaking out animals who don't belong in that environment, but you're potentially putting people (hello, your customers) at danger if they kicked someone, let alone the band's equipment. When I told this to the owner and said "why would you...???" His answer was over and over again..."because I own the bar" and that "these guys know how to handle horses". Maybe in a pasture...clearly not in a bar, hello?! Great job Elliott Baker who also is a realtor...wouldn't want you representing MY house for sale. I have video of the horses...gotta admit not real techy so we'll see if I can get it on here. I hope I can because you have to know how sad sack this place has become. It used to be great. I ordered two large pizzas and the employee said that they would be done in 45 mins. I went to pick them up only to be told that they were out of large pizzas but he could make me four mediums for the same price and would be done in twenty mins. I went back in and he hadn't even started them yet. So I said just give me two pizzas. So he did after a twenty min wait and he burnt one of them (which I found out when I got home). And I was charged $50 for two medium pizzas! I will never go in there again and I'm from Naches!! So disappointing. read more

We heard about Karaoke at Van's on Friday nights and it did not disappoint. The street out front looks like an old western town. Had a great time listening to all the singers, even the not so good singers are entertaining. (It takes a lot of guts to get up there and sing) Amy our bartender was awesome! They ran out of large crusts when we called to order pizza, told us 2 mediums for the price of one large. We ordered 4 mediums and would be ready in 20-30 minutes. Showed up 40 minutes later, with "only 2 pizzas made so far." They then asked if we just wanted 2 instead of 4 since 2 were already made. 40 dollars later, 2 small ass pizzas and still had to wait an additional 20 minutes.
