When Dr. Smitherman wants a follow up from your post op, they will follow up with a bill. i have had many surgeries in my life time and never been billed for a follow up when the doctor requests it. Then when you call them they get an attitude with you like your trying to get out of paying for something that already costs a lot of money to begin with. So a fair warning after the first follow up and the Dr. wants two or more follow ups to make sure all is well and he hadn't released you yet, don't do it unless you want to pay. Good Dr., their billing SUCKS!!

I love how you wait outside of the exam room instead of a just a large, cold waiting room. When I go for my women's annual, I'm given a real robe instead of the cold thin ones! LOVE THAT! Yeah there are occasional waits, but what medical place doesn't have a wait time? I'd much rather wait in a comfortable environment with pretty artwork than sit in a waiting room with a ton of sick people. Not only are my doctors there but if I'm feeling under the weather I can go to the walk-in clinic and be seen. I can even check-in on line and skip the line. I have never been around so many doctors that are down-to-earth and treat you like they really care about you. Grace Clinic will be our Lubbock go-to always.

My 22 yr old had ankle issues and he was very fast and quick to say surgery was the best option and it was a 98% that it would help the issues at hand. When in fact since the surgery the complaint was no feeling and couldn't walk like before surgery and swelling is constant... have had numerous ER visits since surgery and it's ridiculous. ER doctors even say it's NOT normal. It's absolutely so sad...

Hip will not support my weight, and I have lost 30lbs since the surgery. If I roll over on my left side, while sleeping, I get excruciating bolts of pain from the joint. Constant pain from knee to joint. Can run or walk briskly ... It's miserable. I followed all the post op instructions and was diligent with physical therapy All the Dr. had to say was that the surgery went well. We went to see Dr. Carr for help. What we got was an arrogant doctor with a god complex. He sat down and only half listened to my mother explain the pain then proceeded to us he already knew what the problem without even examining her knee. He waved his hand at my mother and told her it was the fat pocket and to walk it off. She would be fine. Telling her not once or twice but three times that it was due to her weight and age. When he did finally exam her knee and she explained where it hurt, he told her no then pointed to where it hurt. He could care less. He gave her a shot of steroids and sent her on her way. Well 2 weeks later, still in extreme pain we went to another doctor. Turns out she had edema of the bone, a minor fracture and a torn meniscus. He is a horrible doctor and any worse person. If you care about yourself o family do not allow him within even the same room.
