Popped into q's today for a pedicure after leaving Pilates in the same plaza. Thankfully they were able to take me as a walk in. I was the only person in the salon today (assuming because everyone is back to work after the holiday weekend). She did a great and thorough job and spent more time to take off my gel polish which was really nice (can be a huge pain!). My toes look good I just wish she would have spent more time using the buffer and callous remover on my heels and balls of my feet. She literally did two seconds on each foot which was kind of surprising considering paying $70 for a pedicure with regular polish. I'd come back and just ask to really get the bottom of my feet more. read more

For a small business in small town Medina, I was very impressed! The location is misleading - yes, it's in a grocery store parking lot, but who doesn't need a massage after a trip to the grocery store these days?! Couples massage package was inclusive and everything you'd expect from any big business elsewhere. The atmosphere is clean and relaxing; staff were friendly and really know their way around sore muscles; we were offered a thoughtfully prepared charcuterie platter and our choice of red or white wine, plus some privacy to enjoy the steam room after our massage. They even offered to play the OSU game in our private dining area! Truly lovely, definitely recommend. read more

I am in town for the weekend and did not have time to get a pedicure at home. This was the closest salon/spa to the hotel we were staying in so I gave it a shot. You know how your gut tells you DON'T DO IT? Yup, that we me and my gut...but I didn't listen and the woman was very friendly so I went for it. This is by far one of the worst pedicures I've had, to date and I regret not listening. She offered me an express pedicure or a spa pedicure. The difference was $10 but from her description I could not really justify the benefits ($50 vs $60 which is high in the first place) so I went for express. There is nothing express about it and through out the pedicure she continued to make comments about had I opted in for the spa pedicure my results would have been better. I'm sorry, I'm paying $50 dollars...why on earth would I expect anything but a GREAT pedicure?!?! I got the impression that this was not necessarily her skill set, rather the chance for her to make a few extra dollars before her shift ended. Speaking of her shift, she told me multiple times that she was supposed to leave earlier in the day but I was lucky that she stayed around to do this. I don't know that I consider this luck rather poor bedside manner. She flooded my cuticles with white nail polish and then told me that white was one of the hardest colors to get right. My nails are bumpy at best and the coats are so thick and it really just looks like trash! To make matters worse, upon checking out she said how much are you going to be leaving in tip! Never have I ever in my 40+ years been asked what tip I am going to leave. You tip for the service you're given. The fact that she thought she even deserved a tip is beyond me. Anyways, if you're in town, need something quick, I do not recommend this place. I'm not sure if they offer better service with their spa and salon, but I would absolutely not recommend it for a pedicure!! You're probably wondering why I didn't stop her or try to make corrections. By the time all of my polish is off my feet were in the water we are well too far into the process to turn back. I try to give grace and think that it would get better. Think that maybe she had a different technique than I was used to. That was not at all the case! Something hubby and I like to splurge on is massage, specifically couples massage. Just as it sounds, couples massages are body kneading treatments that happen while laying in side-by-side beds in the same dimly lit room. We have had massages outside on a sunny day and inside during a blizzard. I've lost count of how many spas we've been to in the three states we've lived in, but each one had its own flair. The first couples massage we ever booked was at a luxury hotel in Los Angeles. They had us wear disposable underwear (!?) and lay face down as our therapists worked our muscles like silly putty. Our masseuses were short, stocky, Asian women who, at one point, climbed on top of our backs and dug in to our shoulder blades with their knees (!?). A few days ago, we went to a spa in town called Q's Spa. It's owned by a lovely woman named Q, who is petite, yet gives a hardy massage (she gave me mine). We started our visit with a tour of the facility, then were shown to our room where we changed in to white terry cloth bathrobes and slippers. Before the massage, we had a second room all to ourselves, with a display of grapes and strawberries, crackers, wine, and assorted chocolates. The steam closet was only a few paces away, so we alternated between the snack table and the room set to 98 degrees with 3000 percent humidity. Aside from dodging the hot water dripping from the ceiling, it was pleasant. Take-your-breath-away-while-sweating-out-toxins pleasant. Our massages were the highlight of our visit. We each had our own therapist who did well to work out the kinks with their hands and elbows. While they kept their feet on the ground, their use of hot stones sent me to La La Land in no time. After every treatment like this, I am reminded of what butter must feel like slowly melting on top of a Belgian waffle dressed in vanilla cream resting on top of rainbows and cotton candy clouds. read more

I got this "dip" manicure done 5 days ago. Mind you, I've had multiple dip manicures done before that last me 4+ weeks with no chips or cracks. The shellac top coat started peeling at 3 days and cracks/chips happened at day 4/5. The manicurist was nice enough but I won't be returning. read more

I got a gift card from my Mother in law for Christmas to try this place out. I scheduled a Thai facial, Express mani with shellac, and a spa pedicure. When I got there i was taken back for my facial. she did the steam and wiped my face and then put a mask on and left the room. she was gone for a solid ten minutes, came back in did the same thing and then left the room again!!! In my experience with facials when you get the mask portion of the facial they do a massage, not here! She didn't do any extractions either, I actually didn't even see any equipment there to do them! They did the wrong facial as well, they ended up giving me a signature facial instead of the thai facial. Also, i didn't go in for my HOUR facial until 9:40 and she was done at 10:20. So i was not happy when i came i out from my facial and actually canceled my pedicure cause i didn't want to waste my money! When i got the manicure they informed me that they hadn't scheduled me for shellac ( even though i was very specific on the phone when i scheduled it) and said that the person that does that isn't available. I told them that was fine, i just wont get the manicure cause regular polish does not stay on my nails. Then all of a sudden they could do it? But now two days later i already have THREE chips and their color selection was very minimal. Instead of being a relaxing experience it was a frustrating and irritating one. read more

I tried Q-Spa mid from a Christmas gift card I received. I have had many massages, but am extremely impressed by the techniques used and the very beautiful, yet relaxing massage rooms they have. I ended up buying the 10, get 2 free deal and this is my little splurge to help me DE-stress from the week. I highly recommend them. The prices for an hour massage are great too. My boyfriend and I went here for a little romantic activity and we got the couples retreat. I was expecting something more elaborate. All we did was sit in a steam room and have cheese and crackers in this little room. Then when it was time for our massage, it felt very rushed and they didn't use enough lotion/oil so it felt like they were tugging at our skin a little. I received a gift card to Q's from my son. Having never been to this salon, I was looking forward to a new experience. I scheduled a manicure and realized that I needed to reschedule for the following week. I called to reschedule the appointment with the same manicurist, just for the following week. I received a text message showing my cancelled appointment and a separate text message showing my new appointment for the following week. I was surprised when I received a text reminder the morning of my cancelled appointment, thinking it was a glitch in the system. I then received a call later in the morning from Mona following up to see why I was not at my appointment. I explained it had been cancelled and rescheduled the following week along with everything I mentioned above. I was told that the appointment was not cancelled AND it did not show a rescheduled appointment for the following week. Mona asked if I would like to have her add it to the calendar. I said yes and received a text message with the new appointment. I then received a call from Mona stating that Q told her that I need to pay for this appointment up front since I had cancelled twice! I told her that I did not cancel twice, but had rescheduled one appointment. I asked her to check with Q to see if she remembered me calling on Tuesday to reschedule my appointment. Mona called back to let me know that Q did remember me calling to reschedule, but that I was still considered as cancelling two appointments and that I would need to pay upfront?!?!?! Needless to say, I am VERY disappointed in my experience and still have not actually entered their doors. I do want to add that Mona was very kind and understanding, she was simply relaying the messages from Q. I will be donating my gift card to a battered women's shelter. read more

I hate to give this place only two stars, because every service I've ever had done there, aside from one shellac mani, has been wonderful. I've continued to return for hair cuts and highlights and have had several manis and pedis there as a part of different bridal parties. I've attended their "birthday party" open houses and have even recommended to a friend who was getting married and several of us from her bridal party went in for multiple services the day before her wedding. The reason behind the two stars is the business ethics - or lack there of! I've had a handful of bad experiences, and after my next scheduled appointment (because I don't want to cancel on my stylist and I like how she does my hair) I will no longer be returning to Q's. Once I had received a coupon in my email for a free haircut with any color...I got a partial highlight with two colors, and a cut, went to checkout and was told that because I wasn't a new customer they couldn't give me that coupon. No where on the coupon, at that time, did it state that I had to be a first time customer...now on every single one they send out it's stated right below the special. I told them that they should acknowledge the coupon because it was their mistake, but Q couldn't understand what I was trying to say and offered me 10% off instead. 10% off was about $11...vs the $35 I spent on the haircut...hmm... The final straw comes with my next and last appointment. In May when I visited with the bridal party Q told me to make sure I wrote my email address down because she wanted to offer me a special for the next time I was in for my hair as a thank you for bringing in so many people for services and exposing her business. Great, that's so nice! Well. I scheduled my appointment online and left a note about this asking she or Phil to call me to discuss so I would know what to expect when I went to checkout. I hate going to the register and being surprised by a HUGE, unexpected bill because there's nothing to do at that point but pay it. I didn't get a phone call, so I took it upon myself to call. I did, left a voice mail asking about it so that I could budget - we're talking about a difference of $75 vs $130+ which is a big deal to me. I get a call back and on my voicemail am again told that if I'm a first time customer I will get a free haircut with any color...great but um..I've been there at least 6 times... I called back, leaving another message, this time with full details, making sure to use terms like "honor your word" and "brought in several girls for multiple services, you offered me a special as a thank you"...I immediately got a call back and had the chance to talk with Q - OH! she had forgotten that she'd marked a $15 off offer on my sheet. Okay great! So then I ask if I can use the $15 off, with the 10% off that I (and everyone else in their mailing list) received in my email. I was told that I couldn't do both together. Well, that stinks, especially because the services I get done actually leave the 10% off as a better deal than the $15 off she gave me as a thank you. Since I can't use them together I was told to "use the 10% off for this trip and then save the $15 for my next"...basically her way to get me in the door again...that's not going to happen. If you want to thank someone, THANK them, give them a special that is actually a special, and stick to your word. I've had too many conversations that just go around and around and leave me confused and angry that I just give in, pay the money and leave...that's no way to feel after a day at the spa/salon. No thank you. I'll let my stylist know that I won't be returning so that if she leaves, like so many others, she can let me know what salon she ends up at. read more

I have had scoliosis and back aches ever since grade school and coming to Q for massages is even better than the chiropractor. She uses great technique. I also used to get my nails and hair done here regularly before I moved and have always been more than pleased. Great customer service. I don't even know where to start explaining how disappointed my friend & I were with our pedicures at this "Spa". if you are gonna call yourself a spa your staff needs to know what they're doing. The front desk guy wasn't very friendly, had no idea what the pricing of merchandise was. It appeared as though the two nail technicians who provided our service were perhaps not educated in providing pedicures. It was as if they had never done a pedicure. One was constantly looking at the other one like "what are you doing". We had to ask if we could soak our feet in the water. They didn't know how to adjust the chairs it was uncomfortable. The stones burned the bottoms of our feet. We had to tell them they were way too hot. They kept offering up 50% off haircuts. After they painted our nails they both got up and left. We never saw them again would probably sit there for 20 minutes. I had to go get paper towels to wipe my friends legs off they were so greasy. So we get up and walk to the front and there's only one person there with a bill for an outrageous amount for what little we got. We will never go back again. Note to the Owner: it looks really bad when your staff has no idea about the area that your business is in. We asked for recommendations on places to eat and were told "we are not from here we really don't know,". If you want people to support your business it would be wise to at least know what other businesses are around you. read more

Before you can write a review on this website, you are asked NOT to write a review or rate your business if you are the owner or in any way related to the owner. The fact that you get on here to publicly argue with a customer and rate your OWN business with 5 stars basically proved the point about your dishonesty in my original review. Secondly, no I did NOT see any prices on your website. As I explained to you repeatedly, I called you to ask for prices because I didn't check your website. Many other salons, such as VCS or Polished Look have specials and I was calling around that morning. Its odd to me because the day I was at your Spa, you had NO recollection of ever quoting anyone a price over the phone, you changed your story after I called you directly and in your review, you seem to suddenly have a very clear recollection of the conversation. Thirdly, I think a lot of you problems could be solved if you did not answer phones or handle transactions at the desk. I asked for an 11:30 a.m. appoinment and YOU said the technician had a 1:00p appointment and that would be 'cutting it close'. I offered to come in at 11:00a and you told me to come then. I did not come in at 11a for an 11:30a appointment and NO your tech did not start 30 minutes early on me. You seem to have problems with fact and fiction. Also, you do not know me. So for you to make generalized accusations attacking my character is ridiculous. You will never meet someone more honest than I am and as I said in my original review, I have not complained to a business for at least a dozen years, I don't return my food at restaurants, I have never been involved in any legal procedings and I was NOT trying to get a reduced price. Again, unfair on your part. The nail tech and I had a great time getting to know one another. Did you bother to ask her what type of customer I was? We laughed the whole appointment. I know I always try to read reviews before going to a business the first time. I read reviews before I will buy most products. That is what this site is for. I am telling other consumers about my experience at your place of business so they can be better informed. I tried to call you after I got home and before I said anything to you at all, I said that I wanted nothing from you other than an apology. I paid the $73.00 plus a tip for the tech and never asked you for a refund, a coupon for another visit...nothing. You were extremely rude and repeatedly told untruths. THAT is a waste of energy and wasn't worth mine. I did tell you that I would write reviews about your business because I think others should be forwarned. An owner that can't even offer an apology and be honest about a mistake that was made should not get business. That wasn't a childish threat on my part but something that will help others to make a more informed choice. And lastly Phil, I am not a negative energy and this isn't a waste as you put it. If one person reads this and thinks twice, that is worthwhile. Again, there are lots of other salons in the Medina area that are honest and have much better prices. You say I am trying to damage your livley hood. Really? I am not outside picketing your business but writing an honest review on a website designed for this purpose. I have tried and tried to become a regular at Q's hair salon in Medina. I started with David - he quit abrubtly and I wasn't advised until I showed up for my appointment. Ok, I'll try Cindy. She quit too (although she's back.) Ok, it's close to home, I'll try Michael. He seems good (and he was an excellent and creative stylist.) Then he disappeared as well. Every time the management had some lame reason why they can't keep good people. So, I went elsewhere but caved again (due to the convenient location) and tried Lisa. Lisa did a great job on my hair too. Once again, she is gone and I wasn't even called. All four of them were well qualified and did a great job. How does this business expect to grow if they can't keep qualified hairdressers? If you do try to become a regular at Q's, don't get attached to your stylist! read more
