Terrible experience. Went to get hair dyed with subtle highlights - received decent root touch up with horrific ORANGE highlights. To add insult to injury I was charged for the toner that attempted to reduce the 'box' orange color. How can a salon allow a stylist to charge for their mess up? Dropping $180 for 3 hours of poor craftsmanship was met with indifference at checkout - never again. read more

Visited this salon for the first time today, and I couldn't ask for a better experience. They blew me away with their hospitality and customer service. I visited after seeing their high reviews on yelp, and they lived up to all expectations. Jen cut and colored my hair, and I would highly recommend her. She took the time to ask me detailed questions about what I wanted and really made me feel confident about my choice. Other salons I have visited in the past rush the color consultation of the appointment, and often I would feel apprehensive or disappointed about the end result. This was definitely not the case with Jen. I was also very impressed with Joelle who did my pedicure. She took her time and was meticulous and careful. I can truly say it was the best pedicure I've ever had! I cannot say enough good things about this salon, and I will definitely be back! read more

Bad haircut from ShERRY. She went on bragging how she was there 17 years. $55 to ruin my hair. She started off first acting like she knew her stuff. The funny thing is I said yes see like your hair...shattered and texturized. So her hair was essentially cut in the same way I wanted mine. SO obviously she cares about her hair. Not her clients though. It was basically a just a shape up. She made short layers "extremely short" unflattering layers at the top of my hair and it looks like a best cuts haircut. This will take at least a year for the layers to grow out. I also noticed that this place is dead everyday. I saw a little old lady getting a perm. I also noted how slow the stylists work a sign they have no clue how to do hair. Plus and the equipment she used, omg was cheap and even I use better equipment and product. She used an afro pick to comb my hair?? Nice atmosphere but I'm paying to get my haircut not ambiance. Will not return. The owner refunded me and apologized and offered to try to fix the cut when I wanted. So I appreciate that. I definitely won't go back. Assuming that it happens all the time by the way the owner just apologized. And gave me my money back. That's still not going to fix my hair. read more

I love Salon Evangelene! I had never been there until recently. Went for color and hilites. I needed a bit of a change from the overall blonde hilites I have had forever. The styist, April, was extremely helpful with suggestions on adding lowlites. I loved my hair when it was done! She added some of my natural color back in so I didn't look so blonde. She also recommended some great products for my curly hair. I am using these products regularly now and I love the way my hair looks (no more frizz but lots of curl). The salon itself has a really relaxing atmosphere . Way different from other salons I have been to. I felt pampered while I was there which is a good feeling in today's busy world. I was anxious to find a new salon as I was "breaking up" with one nearby. Finding just the right person to cut my very short hair was stressful! I am very pleased to report that that I have found a new beauty oasis. The staff put me at ease, my appointment was on time and Amanda, who I had never met before, was personable, professional and quite the artist. I chose Salon Evangelene because I have friends who go there. When I arrived I was impressed by the hairstyles of every stylist and the receptionists. Yes, I felt I was in the right place. I brought a photo of myself so the stylist could see what I wanted her to do. I stressed I did not want the back to be any shorter than the photo. I reminded her of that when she was cutting. By the time she was finished to my horror, the back was "gone." It wasn't even a half inch long. Why she didn't stick to the style in my photo of my very own hair, I'll never know. She was almost half the price of the other stylists so I decided to take a chance on her--big mistake. Now I have to go through the holidays looking like a boy. read more

WISH I COULD GIVE A ZERO Here's my story about this place. On my WEDDING DAY I went in with my bridal party - 9 people. Mind you my family and I have been honest loyal customers to this shop. We had confirmed and re confirmed appointments with the salon months ahead. On the day of they insisted that one of the girls appointment was at 8 a.m. when it was told to us it was 10:15 a.m. She was able to come in but they moved her to 11:00. She commented on how uncomfortable they made her feel. This in it self was a accident on their part, but they refused to give it up. The whole attitude changed after that. They then stated that one person was still scheduled when we had canceled that appointment prior to. This womens hair is a whole 3-4 inches above her shoulders, but they would not let me, the bride, leave until I paid $75 for her MISSED CANCELED appointment. The manager/owner stated this was their protocol! My mother wanted to try and save the money so she pleaded with them to give my aunt an appointment instead. They did later that morning , but my aunt who had no idea what was going on called and stated how rude they were to her. They spent a whopping 20 mintues on her hair! For $75.00! Aside from that my daughters hair fell out the second we left and my sister had to redo it. I was busy getting ready, but soon realized they literally did not even hair spray my daughters hair at all. PLEASE schedule with cation if you are to have your bridal party there! It ruined my morning and started my day off completely wrong. I just hope that the owner of this place would never have to endure the rudeness and hostile environment myself and my bridal party did on a HUGE IMPORTANT DAY in her life. read more
