Friday night serenity, massages for two! The staff was welcoming, offering coffee tea or wine, my husband went with a glass of wine to get in the mood. We were ushered into the relaxation room, which was anything but relaxing, the space was overwhelming with mismatched themes, floral trees twinlking lights and bushes. But to each their own. Once the space was ready, our therapists came in ushered us down the hall. Serena and Kim introduced themselves, asked about preferences and washed no time getting us comfortable. We booked deep tissue massages, which were a little too aggressive for me, my husband loved it. On the way out, the receptionist asked about sakes, offering their monthly program, which my husband opted to join, a three month commitment before cancellation. My boyfriend and I enjoyed a couple's massage here and had a nice experience. The place was really clean and had a comfortable room to relax in before your massage with complimentary tea and water. This was a nice touch to get you in the calming and relaxed mood. The massages were very good the only thing I would change would be the lighting in the room because even with the blinds closed it was a bit too bright. However, the calming music was great and there were no outside noises to be heard which was a plus. I liked the use of the hot towel and option of heating the massage table. Overall, I had a positive experience. I just have to add that when I checked out at the front desk I told the woman working that I checked in on Yelp and it said I had a $5 coupon to use towards my services. $5 isn't much when the total is $140 but I thought why not. This spa is located in a small plaza, but is very easy to find and everyone working here was so nice! I came with a groupon for a couples massage; this was deep tissue, hot stone, and included aromatherapy (which is usually an add-on). I'm always afraid that we won't be treated well because we used groupon, but that definitely was not the case. We got there and were immediately attended to and sat in their tranquil area to fill out the forms, which was adorable. We were offered water, tea, and wine. Massages started on time and masseuses were very clear. They asked about problem areas and did a wonderful job... my husband and I almost fell asleep! Could be that we don't usually do hot stone, that stuff is pretty amazing... anyway, we both left feeling like noodles, much needed after all the recent walking/travel the week before in Italy! Soothe completely took my money from me and did not care about me as a customer. I bought a groupon for a massage at Soothe and arrived at my appointment on time. I got completely undressed and had already filled out paperwork stating that I had previously had a bloodclot in my colon. Even though I clearly stated this on the inital paperwork, my therapist told me to contine to get undressed. She told me she would come right but but I laid there on the table for about thirty minutes. When she came back she told me that they weren't able to give me the massage that I had paid for because I had a bloodclot. They said I could call back when I had a doctor's clearance. Once I had clearance, I called them multiple times and they never picked up. I left multiple messages that were never returned and I never got my money back. They basically stole my money. This place is amazing!!!! There's two sets of stairs to enter into the building so read the sign if one of them are closed. You will go down this quiet hallway to find your massage suite and when you enter, they try to set the mood as soon as you walk in to a dim light ambiance where the front desk sits. They then walk you down to another room with a balcony to enjoy and relax a cup of tea or water. After calming some of your senses down, the massage therapist will come into the room and introduce themselves and discuss what the target areas are. Depending on which massage therapist you have, will also depend on the capabilities they posses. I truly can't remember my massage therapist but she was very toned and fit and she gave me such a wonderful massage with the right amount of pressure. She also gave me some helpful tips I can do at home to help out some of my problematic areas. My husband had a young lady as well but she told him that she does not specialize in deep tissue massage so she didn't give him the amount of pressure he desired which was kind of a bummer for him. Other than that, I had a wonderful experience but my only suggestion would be to make it known what each massage therapist cannot do prior to booking. I wanted to have a couples massage where we both came out happy but since my husband was not happy with his experience, he probably won't be come back with me, but maybe without me to the girl I suggested. read more

Soothe stole my $ from me. Both by overcharging on a monthly session I had signed up for and then by charging me for a mistake THEY made. Total loss of almost $100. When I called them to ask about it, the Manager Mike basically called me a liar and told me I was at fault. I was not. My therapist was awesome but because of the lack of honesty, integrity and horrible customer service from Mike, he will be losing $120 a month just from me and my husband. Update: Soothe after arguing with me and illegally charging my account for someone else's missed session has left a message admitting they made a mistake and will be refunding my account. I still will not be returning simply because of the horrendous customer service exhibited by Mike. But at least they are refunding my account! read more

My boyfriend and I received a Groupon voucher for Christmas and we decided to spend it by booking a couples massage! I was a bit nervous at first because though I do love massages, I am very ticklish and squirmy and so I have had difficulty in the past relaxing for them. However, my boyfriend and I are always on the move and both of our spines were starting to feel like they had been chewed up by a dog. We booked the experience and it was easy enough- actually, I would recommend that if you haven't purchased a Groupon first, go ahead and give them a call about it. They were not able to book me for the Groupon on a certain day I wanted, but since I had not physically purchased the Groupon, they were able to honor the pricing and book it through their system for the same day! So it all worked out. The staff on the phone were very kind and accommodating, and the place is quite calming from the moment you walk in. We had booked a 1 hour massage with hot stone therapy, aromatherapy, and a complimentary drink first (sadly, we missed out on that part as we were running a few minutes behind.. cut our massage a bit short and we skipped the wine but it was our own faults so we understood). All I can say is that both of us were absolutely floored with the massage. I can't speak as to the details of my boyfriend's massage, but my own was lovely. I was paired with Doug who asked me questions like if I had pain anywhere, any spots I would want to avoid, anything he should know, etc. I was open to a full massage with more of a firm pressure and warned him that I can be ticklish. The experience was fantastic. He really got my back feeling so much better and I LOVED the hot stone therapy. So relaxing. The aromatherapy was wonderful too. Self-care is so important, and this proves it! We both left in a daze of dreaminess/almost sleepiness from being SO damn relaxed. I tend to go to Carrie because I feel like I know her at this point and she does a great job on my upper back tightness. The staff at soothe was very polite and helpful.. they all greeted us with warm smiles and helpful suggestions. All 8 of my friend received hour long massages that we all enjoyed. After and before the massages we brought wine and cupcakes along with a few treats to share and enjoy among us. The staff helped us set up everything up and was always very near by if we needed anything. The office space is a very nice size with a joint patio the is free for everyone to enjoy. Hot stones were enjoyable, but the massage was sub-par. We were taken to the room 5 minutes after our start time and the massage was shortened to 50 minutes. When I addressed the timing issue with the front desk receptionist, he was extremely defensive and unwilling to admit that the full 60 minutes had not been given. An additional 30 minutes was offered for our 'next visit', but declined based off the behaviour of the staff and quality of the massage. read more

It is located on the second floor of the building and the atmosphere once inside really does make you feel a sense of calm almost instantaneously. My massage was a 60 minute Hot Stone and Deep Tissue massage and it really felt longer than an hour. My masseuse really paid attention to the areas that I needed the most focus on and boy oh boy do I feel so much better. One of my favorite things was she massaged my scalp and parts of my head and afterwards talked to me about the tension I had from my shoulders and neck. I felt very informed and she checked on me often to make sure the pressure was alright. They offer all types of different massage types as well as couples massages. I got a facial from Groupon for here. The first part was relaxing, but the extraction was incredibly painful; I had to have her stop. The pores clearly were not open and ready (I have had other facials elsewhere and it was not a painful experience). I was beet red for days. They also tried to sell me expensive skincare regimen for home items, even though I had told them when I first filled out the paperwork I had told them I was allergic to one of the ingredients. And they are affordable. This place used to be a "Massage Envy" but recently got turned into Soothe. I am not sure if Soothe is now taking over or if this particular Massage Envy closed for whatever reason. In either case, they offer the same great $39 rate for a first-time hour-long massage. That's a really good deal. Because... . ...although this SEEMS like it could be the McDonald's of spas, it doesn't feel like that on the inside. Everything is very subdued and classy, like a real spa. There's a small but comfortable room with magazines, nice chairs, and a water cooler while you wait (they have lemon water as an option as well). It was not busy at all when I went, but they have so many rooms and massotherapists that I don't think it would be bad at all as long as you had an appointment. Unlike another review I recently wrote about a prenatal massage gone wrong, my masseuse at Soothe (named Desi) REALLY knew what she was doing. She has a contoured pillow that fit my humongous belly in while I lay on my side, and additional wedges to keep one leg up to take pressure off the lower back. The room was the perfect temperature and I had the option of a heated table (which I declined). We had a bit of a discussion beforehand about what my needs were for my visit and what she generally does for a pregnant woman, including the areas/techniques she had to avoid. I was very grateful for this, because it gave me peace of mind right away so that for the whole hour, I could just relax! The music was just what I expected - some pan-flute here, some classical muzak there. It sounded like a cross between what comes out of a little girl's jewelry box, and what you might hear in a department store elevator during the holidays. I was satisfied. And boy, was I relaxed! After it was over, Desi made sure I had some water on my way out too - she had it waiting for me when I came out of the room. This was a great massage, and a GREAT use of 40 bucks.
