There were plenty of machines, free weights, benches, cables, and cardio equipment, so I had everything I needed to get a full workout in. One thing I really liked was how open the gym felt. Even with a lot of equipment, everything was spread out enough that I didn't feel cramped or like I was constantly waiting for someone to finish. There are also plenty of mirrors throughout the weight area, which I always appreciate when I'm working out. The facility itself was well maintained and the locker room area was clean. Overall, this was a solid gym with a good variety of equipment and plenty of space to work out. I'd definitely work out here again when I'm in Atlanta.

Noel, the manager, entered my parking validation incorrectly and I was asked to pay when I scanned my ticket. At the time parking officials were at the exit and I told them I was a member of 191 resolution fitness and my ticket was validated. I tried to rescan but the parking machine doesn't accept rescans. The parking people said they weren't going to assist so I called the gym to bring a new ticket because they screwed up my original. Noel sent some girl named Katie who not only did nothing but watched as the parking attendant called security on me. They threatened to tow my car and caused a huge scene. As a member of Resolution Fitness I receive 3 hours of validated parking. I was in the gym for 15 minutes. Noel hasn't offered an apology or acknowledged that she entered my validation incorrectly or offered a refund for the parking I paid for to end the ordeal that her carelessness and inability to do her job correctly created. More recently, I contacted Noel regarding personal training and she said she would have the trainer Matt contact me. A month passed and I ran into Matt and asked him if Noel informed him I was interested in personal training and he said no. Noel either has a personal bias against me or she is not capable of performing her job in a professional manner. 7/4/21: The retaliation and harassment have begun.

Also, the entire gym along with the changing rooms are really clean. They provide face towels both in the changing rooms and in the workout area, which is perfect for those who sweat like me and forgets to bring their own face towel. They also provide either paper towels or clean rags to wipe down the equipment after each use. There are sprays everywhere for the papers towels and rags, of course, but please make sure you spray those directly and not the machines (they have signs for this everywhere as well to make sure that the machine quality is maintained). I've only gone to this gym at around 9am, so I have no idea how packed it gets during the typical hours people go to the gym before or after work, but I can only imagine that it might get cramped due to its size and popularity in the area, so keep that in mind! I still recommend trying this place out!

I have asked other gym goers questions before or to spot me and I have always gotten smiles and "of course!" in response. Finally, the price is reasonable! Unfortunately, seeing my growing gut and my even faster growing kid, I realized that it's about time to do things. And since my aforementioned wife had already joined the Crossfit cult, she harangued me to join Crossfit Grant Street. Oh, don't think I didn't harbor a hefty dose of skepticism. It also didn't help that most of the people I'd already seen there during my initial assessments were wearing some old t-shirts of whatever college team they were on. Notice, I didn't say, "cheered on," I said, "were on." Was I ever on a college team? Does mathlete count? Beer pong? Not to mention, I went to college back in the pre-Internet dark ages, where faces and books were two different, unrelated things. So yeah, I may be new to the entire working out thing, but at least I'm also really, really old. As I said, skepticism. Fortunately, the gym owners/coaches understand my particular set of...challenges and adjust accordingly. It also helps to leave your ego at the door. Like when I told my doctor I started Crossfit at my annual physical (or what my millennial co-workers call it, "Wait, you go EVERY year?!"), doc responded, "At your age...." (Those sentences never end well. ) "...I don't usually think Crossfit is a good idea. You're surrounded by a bunch of 20 year olds and you try to do what they do and end up hurting yourself." I laughed and responded, "Uh, no. I know my limits. You forget that I've been married long enough that my ego was obliterated years ago. I've already accepted the fact that my wife can deadlift more than I can so I have no problem asking my coaches to scale it down." Doc gave her blessings after hearing that. So I'm a few months into it. I don't go to class every day, though I could if I wanted to. I have the shirt, but I feel bad wearing it since I haven't gotten rid of my gut yet. I've gotten to know many of my fellow gymmates and they're good folks; I don't think they realize how old and broken down I am, but the coaches do and that's what counts since they're the ones scaling my workouts. I'm not part of the cult, but all those years of fighting Sunday School class has built up my resistance towards indoctrination. Still, my body is reshaping itself slowly but surely. I may never be a jock (I'm too much of a nerd at heart), but I'm adding a few more attribute points to my character sheet. I'm all right with that.

So i joined ClassPass and literally tried everything I could, Spin, Yoga, Bare, Pilates, boxing, kickboxing and everything in between. I just wanted an effective program that would give me a bigger ass and a body that would fit into the category of 'sexy as F***'! Pretty obtainable goal right!! I can guarantee that if i walked into any other gym 4 months ago, I would still be sitting on the New Years resolution of 'Get in Shape'. Thankfully I walked into this amazing space, filled with positivity and encouragement. I genuinely enjoy spending the best/worst hour of my day with everyone at this gym! The coaches are wonderful people and they are pretty good at coaching too (really good). If you aren't an employee of Delta, there are a couple other small gyms nearby that you don't need to be an employee to visit. This is a pretty good gym for how small it is. There really is something here for everyone, from machine users to powerlifters to yogis to TRXers to CrossFitters. There are quite a few machines, both cardio (ellipticals, treadmills, rowers, and bikes) and weight (cable machines, as well as the run-of-the-mill muscle isolation machines). Additionally, there is a large free weight area, including dumbbells, barbells, squat racks, and a lifting platform. There are also plyo boxes, all sorts of balls, and stretching/rolling aids. They have a pretty good class schedule and variety of offerings, especially on weekdays, and the entire gym is open every day except holidays. The locker/shower rooms are really nice and big. For a small fee, they also offer massages. Fees are reasonable (you can get a day pass for $5 if you are here for a short time), and totally worth it to get a major upgrade over the local hotel "gyms."
