This helps a lot so I don't have to have leg day, arm day, etc. - one workout which focused on all exercises. The instructor is also really nice and he explains the workout in the start of the class. It is a small fitness center so you get individual attention especially if you are not doing it right. If I was in Atlanta, I would definitely have made this my regular gym.

My personal training sessions with Shawn fly by and I always wish they last longer. Just like the classes they are always different and fun, but geared towards the goals we discussed. It's been almost two months and I can tell I'm making progress. Working out never feels like a chore and I genuinely enjoy it. As a side note, COVID protocols are taken very seriously which I did factor into my decision to join (also wanting to support a small business in my community). I have…read moreabout a moderate fitness level and have worked out at various private gyms for the last 5 years or so and was searching for somewhere closer to my home and in a smaller space with a different vibe. An Instagram ad got me in the door and I signed up for the 1-week trial. After being on a month and a half sabbatical from my last gym, I didn't find the cardio class to be as difficult as I thought it would be. I thought the pacing of the class was good and several people advised me before and during the class to take breaks if/when I needed to. I also took a strength training/weight class that I didn't find particularly difficult to get through and the trainer offered modifications to exercises as needed. What I really like: 1. They show you the moves before the class and they are also displayed on the screens as you move through the workout. 2. Small classes, I think the classes I've taken average about 15-20 people moving at whatever pace they need to. 3. Variety of classes and times available. There are several classes in the morning and the afternoon which are spaced out well for folks that may prefer early morning or evening. 4. Scheduling through the app is super easy and convenient, I've scheduled up to the day of a class. I really like this place and I look forward to coming here regularly. It's definitely not as overwhelming as one of the bigger chain gyms, I think the class sizes are somewhere around 15-20 and it's just a really good vibe for my fitness needs. Also, as someone who was paying $300/month at a private gym for semi-personal training, the pricing at F45 is a steal and I wish I'd found them sooner.

Decent assortment of free weights but no real squat machine--just the Smith machine. Excellent selection of Matrix machines if you don't want free weights. Staff company just turned over a month or so ago but no change in service. Friendly front desk. Good classes. Hours are the downside. Not open late or very early.

Blomeyer offers group fitness classes, sauna, personal training, massages, and more. There is always a cardio machine available and a short wait for weight machines if any. It's cheaper than being a member of the YMCA and there is always some kind of program/friendly competition going on to win prizes. They always do something for holidays (I.e. whole grain tortilla chips and salsa for cinco de mayo etc). It's a fun gym to belong to! Would get 5 stars if there was a pool! Maybe rooftop? No? Ok. ;)

This is a review for the pool…read more The pool at the WoodPEC is a glorious olympic-sized indoor masterpiece! I normally do not like indoor pools because of how humid and warm it usually gets and will opt for the outdoor pools for this reason. However, because I spend about an hour in the pool each day, outdoor pools wreck havoc on my skin. I am happy to say that this pool is the best of everything. The pool water is kept at a cool temperature and the ambient temp is not bad either. Another thing I love about this pool is that is does not get too crowded. Some nights, water polo or masters swimmers take lanes 6+ and the kids swim teams take up to lane 3. At these times, there are only 2 or 3 lap swim lanes open and that is kind of annoying, but I think that only happens 2 nights out of the week. Other things to note: - Kickboards and pull buoys are available to the public in large bins close to the guard chair. They also have those back brace floaty things... I don't really know what they're called but people use them to do water aerobics. There is a limited supply of kickboards and pull buoys, so they may run out if there are lots of people in the pool. - There is some natural lighting, but most of the lighting comes from huge overhead lights. There are no lights embedded in the walls of the pool, but the overhead lights are adequate. - Lifeguards are super friendly. - Locker room is quite small but it is generally empty unless the kids' swim teams just let out. Then it is packed with running (sometimes crying) children. There are 4 showers stalls with curtains for privacy, including a handicap shower stall. There are an additional 3 or 4 showers without privacy curtains. - You can "rent" a day locker outside of the women's locker room by trading your Emory ID for a locker key at the equipment desk.

The people who have access to this gym have a great life! Haha. Other tidbits: - Free parking available in the ramp across the street after 4 pm. - They play hip-hop music in the weight room.

You can work out on your own or with a Trainer, as various Trainers are present. The environment is "take your workout seriously, no playing around" with a good flow of music & insightful direction from Trainers if they notice your posture/form is not correct. Dexter trains my Son & Daughter whenever she's back in town & he gets nothing but compliments. Even with both of them sore in a good way. I finally decided to train with Dexter, who designed my workout per my back issue & modifications needs. Yet, he did not let me slack by no means. He also gave me a workout plan to do on my own with utilizing my bodyweight & resistance bands in which I've been able to keep up for the most part...no pain, no gain. This facility has an endless amount of classes to choose from including activities like 'The Pact Challenge', which I joined, and have loved so far as it's allowed me to meet more people as well as expand my own knowledge and understanding about health and wellness. Also, I've been working with Bekah, one of the fitness specialists, and she has helped motivate me as well as improve my overall health & lifestyle goals.
