FYI they don't supply washcloths either, so we had to go buy some as-close-to-washcloth-thingys at the grocery store ourselves. Bring some if you use them. Also try not to let them put you in suites 10-20. You have to walk too far from the parking lot to get to the door. Front desk people were friendly and helpful, grounds are kept nicely, hotel is convenient to town and it's a short hop onto the Ring of Kerry'

When I can in , reception was closed and when I knocked on the door(as was posted) the lady was a bit abrupt. She directed me to the leisure center - took me a minute to find it. The lady I dealt with there was very pleasant. Once we got to the cabin , we found our door didn't have a lock ( see picture) only 2 people could shower with hot water per day( there were 4 of us) only one bedroom had a hair dryer and two of the heating units didn't work. There were 4 channels available on the TV and the couch was very uncomfortable. Each bedroom had a full/double and a twin and lots of storage space.

I was welcomed with a lovely chat over tea and a scone by the innkeeper Rosaleen O'Leary! I really appreciated her taking time to get to know me and share her thoughts on Irish history and culture. My room was good sized, appealing and a great value. Showers were hot with good water pressure. The gardens on the property were just gorgeous - imagine Secret Garden type plantings. My stay included a complete hot Irish breakfast with lots of coffee, eggs and Irish bacon - similar to a fried ham. Mmmm. I enjoyed a morning walk down the road to Ross Castle, which I highly recommend. Who knew the advancements in medieval architecture and defense? Ross Castle Lodge B&B is adjacent to the Killarney National Park, and one may walk through the park to get to the 'town' of Killarney where you'll find lots of restaurants, pubs & shops. She was also incredibly helpful in helping us get reservations for our grandmother's 80th birthday. (Including recommendations on where to get a cake and balloons in town!) The location itself is fantastic - you can walk to a few short hikes - and you're only a short drive from some of the more popular hikes in Killarney National park. Then, you're only five or so minutes from downtown Killarney and a variety of restaurants, pubs, and entertainment. The rooms were clean and large! I don't know what sheets they use, but they were so comfortable and soft. They cleaned the rooms once a day. The breakfast was absolutely delicious! First, there is always a cold buffet - with granola, cereal, various fruits and pastries. The scones and jam were my absolute favorite! Then, there is also a hot menu to order from, which includes a full Irish breakfast, crepes, banana fritters, and more. We were the only people staying, so they didn't have an issue with us monopolizing the sitting room late at night, playing games and enjoying drinks. Overall, fantastic service, an adorable place, and a wonderful stay!

The owners care about your stay and the hospitality was fantastic. A few light bulbs were out - fixed right away. Internet service was interrupted - a solution in about an hour. The kitchen had plenty of cooking supplies and we ate in most nights - why leave such a beautiful place? The location makes exploring the Ring of Kerry quite easy and although the house is "remote" a well stocked grocery store, butcher counter, and gas station is just 12 minutes away. I hope to stay in this home again someday.

Breakfast was delightful with Kathleen circulating to make sure everyone was well fed, had a good nights sleep and knew where they were going and how to get there! We were looking for a place that was a good home base for the Southwest Coast of Ireland, specifically the Dingle Peninsula. Well, this place was above and beyond our expectations. The service was superb! Make sure you take the time to get to know the owner John King, as he is extremely friendly, accommodating, and just a nice person to talk to. The breakfast was fantastic, and when John found out it was our honeymoon, he brought our breakfast to our room! Great service. The lodge also has a great location as we could walk to the town centre for food or beers (plenty of pubs) and we had walks to Ross Castle, Killarney National Park, and Lough Leane. We saw so many amazing places, just by walking from the Abbey Lodge. Also, we took a train from Dublin, and the Lodge is close to the train station, and if someone is an American scared about driving on the opposite side of the road, Killarney is an easy place to get your feet wet. The Budget Rental Car is right near the lodge, and you will meet another great man, Liam, who will go out of his way to help you. Rent the car, DRIVE TO DINGLE, walk around all of Killarney, and stay at the Abbey Lodge.
