The coffee ice cream is tasty with a good coffee flavor but not bitter. There is other non-cream food but ice cream is the way to go. Portion sizes are big, often split with the wife. People are very friendly. This is more or less a to-go or standing room space. Place can get busy on Friday and Saturday night but never crazy. read more

He recommended me the flavor of the day which was blueberry that day. Amazing service. There was a bit of line, but service was pretty fast. It gave us more than enough time to find out what we wanted The blueberry ice cream was supreme. Shout-out to the man who told us about it. This Ice Cream Shop is located on Hwy 90. It doesn't look like much, but it delivers on quality! The price is a bit high but it's well worth it. I had the Chocolate Malt and it was delicious. Tasted like the malts I had when I was a child. It's nice to find a place that serves quality ice cream. So many ice cream shops sell run of the mill products. Quakes had a variety of flavors and toppings. They also have snoballs, parfaits, and shakes among other options. We got a specialty quake and banana split that were pretty good. The custard was creamy and smooth and the banana split we got was massive. I think there were renovations inside and it got a little busy so the parking lot was a bit crowded. They had outdoor seating on the side though if anyone wanted to sit there and eat. Overall, a good place but not anything too exciting! read more

My inlaws were in town last week and we went for an evening drive to see the lights of Biloxi and Ocean Springs. My father inlaw offered to buy everyone ice cream and if we could suggest a place. My wife quickly searched and found Quake Creamery about a mile from where we were. We went in found a great atmosphere, the help was ok, typical kids these days. All 5 of us ordered some form of ice cream and waited for them to slowly be delivered, one at a time. I had a strawberry shake that I thought was pretty good. My father inlaw ordered a chocolate shake. As soon as I saw him try it I knew something was wrong. He tried a couple more sips to see if it would get better, and it didn't. He went to the counter, explained the situation and asked if he could trade it for something he liked better. To my surprise, the employee said you took a drink there is nothing I can do. He asked for clarification and the response was that his manager does not allow returns after some of it has been eaten. My question is, "how do you know if you don't like it until you try it?". If you have an odd flavor of chocolate, you should offer a taste first, or take the customers word that there is something wrong and make something they like. I'm sure most of their customers are tourists so they don't worry much about repeat business. However, we just moved to Ocean Springs and were hoping to find a new favorite ice cream shop. Sadly, we are just another repeat customer that this business only cared about getting a few dollars from that one sale and moves on to the next. If anyone could recommend a great ice cream place near Ocean Springs, it would be much appreciated! (P.S. i'm not from San Francisco, not sure why it shows that I am) read more

The custard really just didn't cut the mustard with my taste buds. I got a strawberry custard and sadly it just didn't have any strawberry flavor and in fact it had really not much of any flavor. Quakes serves a decent size cup so I hope it was just an off time or some flavor mistake. Flavor town is usually the top element of anything I'm putting in my mouth so sadly the lack of flavor killed this experience for me. We pulled into Quakes late one night after dinner and a walk on the beach, it was everything I needed it to be. I was looking for a good spot to grab some ice cream, a place with a nostalgic window that I could order from, a place with a true mom and pop feel. A small little whole in the wall ice cream shop. You can tell this is a locals spot the moment you get here. It has an outside walk up to order counter which I thought was pretty cool. When you go inside there is painting and coloring all over the walls on the inside showing precious customers signing and writing on the walls. Pretty neat. Fairly priced and the ice cream was good. I opted to try a lemon custard since I looooove lemon desserts and it was a really great custard. The texture was perfect and it was overly flavored with lemon. What they are known and named for are the Quakes which are blended ice cream or custard with toppings, similar to a blizzard from DQ, but they have way more combos here. The Quakes are rich and creamy without being too heavy, the flavor selection is absolutely pristine, and the sizes are decent so you aren't hungry afterward but you don't need to be removed by wheelbarrow either.
