Quality Cheese lived up to the hype for me. Their bocconcini knots are my fave! The ricotta is also good, and almost had a tofu like taste and texture. Their selection of imported Italian dried pastas, and olive oils were impressive. I picked up some D.O.P Morgantino olive oil which is FANTASTIC on everything. Their A Bumba Calabrish spicy oil is also awesome, had to stock up! Their jarred mushrooms in oil are to die for, served on top of toasted baguette. I've had this place bookmarked for a few months, waiting for a day when I could swing that way running errands. Imagine my surprise when I pulled into the driveway and realized that I had been there years ago. Years later, my observations still hold. This is a great place to get very fresh Canadian made buffalo mozzarella and burrata for an amazing price. It's the same Bella Casata that I find at my Longos, but much cheaper and with longer expiration dates. For example the Canadian burrata runs $16-18 at Longos and was $10 here! Brie was on special $10 a kg, so my kid got a huge wedge for $4. Sone of that went into the freezer. We also got a gorgeous braid of bocconcini. This would be gorgeous on a large cheese plate. We just ripped it into pieces and made it part of a rustic and yummy caprese. There was also a nice special on prosciutto and we did not buy enough as most of it disappeared minutes after arriving home. read more

This wonderful cheese place sets itself apart from the others because of two things. It consistently carries Stracchino cheese, which is hard to find and is very good to spread on breads or just about anything. Secondly, it does not stink nearly as bad as the other cheese places. It warms my heart to see Pecorino cheese with truffles on the selection, which is a wonderful treat. As well, they carry plenty inexpensive Scharmoza cheeses, both smoked and regular kind. So I come here to browse and find a treat or an ingredient to liven up my recipes. The place can get busy on the weekend and parking can be tricky but if you come during the week then you are pretty set. Thx to the customer who introduced us to the fresh made ricotta. $7 for a large tub. So good and fresh with bread. Love that it's not overly salty. Picked up some lovely goat cheese. And cheap lavazza coffee and pasta. Will definitely return again. read more

Honestly Quality Cheese is my favourite place to buy cheese. My faves are the Ricotta (OMG), Fresh Buffalo Mozzarella and the Mascarpone are to die for. The prices are decent compared to other places and other brands I've had and for the quality and taste. Nothing I've had around the GTA measures up!! After traveling and living in Italy for many years i was desperately seeking some of the flavours i experience there right here in Canada, unfortunately it can't be done. This brings me to Quality Cheese...after hearing many people talk about how good they were i decided to try myself. Never again will i spend that much money on such mass produced, tasteless cheese again. How is it possible that our standard for quality have become so low in Canada, it has become all about mass producing for supermarkets and restaurants while taking advantage of the Italian name. I have tried the Mozzarella (both Cow Milk and Buffalo Milk) no flavour, no salt, DRY! not a drop of milk in my plate. Ricotta was pretty much the same taste wise. We need to stop marketing this stuff as Italian cheese if we can't take the time and add the quality like they do in Italy...it is not fair to the consumer and those producing the product in Italy. Mozzarella gets its taste from quality milk and natural fermentation which doesn't exist here. We think that Mozzarella is that stuff sold in blocks in supermarkets that we put on pizza and when we see the fresh stuff we say its "amazing" when its far from. Quality takes time and passion not mass production and money. read more
