However, they gave us a couple quotes in person that needed revised and said they would send the updated quotes via email. We never got them so we stopped by and realized they had the wrong email. We corrected that on the spot and they said they would re-send the updated quotes via email. They re-sent the same old quotes but not the new updated quotes. I called and told them they sent the wrong quotes and asked for the updated; however, they never came. I verified with them on the phone that they did have the correct email so that was not the issue. I was getting tired of the fact that I had to continually follow up and pursue them to try and work with them. I am the customer, if they are not willing to follow up concerning prospective work then I question their commitment to the customer and the product they sell. I do not think it is too much to desire good customer service. So we reached out to Cutting Edge Countertops in Delaware, Ohio and was blown away by their professionalism and customer service. We are moving forward with Cutting Edge, it is so sad because we wanted to work with Monarch but I guess they didn't want to work with us.

The prices are a little more for some things than the big box stores (others are actually cheaper). However the quality well surpasses the big box stores every time. Contacted Air Solutions, Mansfield, due to our heat pump failing to produce heat and engaging the…read moreauxiliary heat strip. They were able to get us an appointment in a couple days. The technician determined that the problem was likely a seized heat pump compressor after 90 minutes of diagnosis; however, he would have to return the next morning to verify after the compressor cooled enough to touch. Returning the next day, he confirmed that the heat pump compressor would need to be replaced. I requested an estimate via email for both replacement of the compressor and replacement of the entire outside heat pump unit. They charged $289.93 for the service call which included a fuel surcharge for the13 mile drive. The tech was on the phone with another employee for diagnostic advice the entire time he was at our residence. Everybody has to learn so that is fine but felt like I may have been charged for both technicians time. It also seemed prudent that I obtain a 2nd opinion. Clazak Kitchen & Bath, Wooster, also does HVAC work and agreed to come out the next day. Phil spent about 45 minutes diagnosing the issue and confirmed that the heat pump compressor needed to be replaced. He promised an emailed estimate for both the compressor replacement and a new outside unit. They charged $75.00 for the service call with no fuel surchage, despite a 30 mile drive. Clazak emailed within 24 hours with a price for both options. Wanting to give Air Solutions a chance, I called them and they provided the cost for replacement of the compressor but indicated they would need to get back to me with the price on a new unit. After a week, I contacted Air Solutions again and they still could not provide a price. I then contacted Clazak to schedule the unit replacement, which was completed to my satisfaction within a week. I called Air Solutions today, requesting an explanation and was advised that they would have to get back to me. I'm left with the feeling that Air Solutions prefers to perform a high volume of service calls at a seemingly exorbitant rate, rather than actually perform HVAC work. I certainly do not feel respected as a customer. I won't be paying for their services again, but I hope that others have a more positive experience.
