He made amazingly good coffee every morning and brought in breakfast Bakery items daily. The bar selection was quite large for such a small place. The Wi-Fi worked well. Our room was extremely comfortable and well appointed. I will definitely stay there again next time I am in Mineral Point

The room is small but adequate for two people. It is nicely decorated and had a small reading nook. There is a small private balcony. The muffins provided for breakfast were yummy! We only had a couple of issues. The first was that the bathroom sink is located inside the room. I'm sure this was necessary due to the limitations of restoring a building this age. Our main complaint was the loud music that was played in the afternoon. I am not sure if this is a regular thing or just rude guests, but it was loud enough we could not rest after our long drive. If this was just rude guests, I can put it down to "people are people." If this was, however, a regular afternoon thing for the Inn, I would suggest the music be turned down or that guests booking Room 1810 be forewarned. All that being said - we think the Inn is a great asset to Mineral Point.

My room was near the exit and all I heard was the slamming of the door all night. Also many people sitting by the entrance smoking and being a bit loud. I was not well rested. The breakfast was waffles, oatmeal or a frozen sandwich. The rest of the hotel was clean. If you stay, do not get a room near any exits. Also, there were no elevators.

I thought the bed and pillows were pretty comfortable but my wife didn't agree. The breakfast was very good and had a good selection. Now for the bad, the heating system was super loud and woke me up every time it kicked in. I know earlier I said that the place was clean, and I stand by that, but we did see one thing that was pretty gross. Our room window was right above the awning for the front entry and when we were getting ready to leave I noticed there was a badly decomposing either huge mouse or small rat right outside our window. I am not one of those people that fools themselves and thinks that most hotels don't have rodents, but when I told the guy at the front desk I didn't get an apology or anything. All he said was, "Ewwww, thanks for letting me know." Seriously?? All that being said is we will probably be back, but only due to lack of options.

Upon arrival, the front desk clerk was sitting on his phone in the lobby. He was sitting in the same spot when we returned 5 hours later. We ended up getting keys to three different rooms, and it was similar to The Price is Right, except horror hotel edition. Room 1: upon arrival, we set down our bags and left. 5 hours later, we came back to sleep and the room smelled like sewage. Something may have died in the air conditioner or the drain, but I legitimately asked my boyfriend to check the wardrobe for a body. He wanted to switch, so we went to the front desk. Room 2: after a decent interrogation, the clerk found us another room, next to the stink sewage, but we chuckled and tried to stay high spirits. We went back up the stairs and swiped our key, opened the door... and instead of winning a car or a new set of appliances, we won -- A COUPLE IN THE BED. This man gave us the room keys to SOMEONE ELSE's ROOM??? We profusely apologized, those people must have been horrified. I was horrified. We went back to the clerk and he was LAUGHING at what had happened?? Dude seriously? I paid how much for a sewage room and a horrifying experience of walking in on a couple in bed? I asked my boyfriend if we could just sleep in the car. The clerk make an excuse of getting a phone call while we were switching rooms. The clerk tried to put us in the room next to the couple we just violated...and I said please no. He then put us directly BELOW THEM, alright. Instead we headed to Room 3: I just wanted water, and to cry. I went to use the bathroom, and the toilet was full of brown water and silt, perhaps the source of smell of the sewage? Then the toilet wouldn't flush and just ran. My boyfriend opened it up and fixed it, but it still doesn't work right. And I'm sleeping beneath a couple -- we will forever be in each other's thoughts. The vending machine only has Pepsi, it ate our money and didn't have literally any other beverage. The water dispenser water tastes like silt and I just want to go sleep in my car and get as far from here as possible.

Some things were too soft such as the lukewarm hot tub, the "continental" breakfast being mostly cheap packaged baked goods, the typical waffle machine, and the lack of freshness. But, for the most part Goldilocks knew what she was getting into when she booked the budget hotel. And, I have to say that some things were just right. The room was clean. The beds and pillows were comfortable. The staff were helpful. And the location just 4 minutes from downtown Mineral Point was awesome. We had wanted to stay in the downtown at the Mineral Point hotel, but they only allowed two people per room and my wife wasn't about to leave our son in the car overnight, especially in the winter. So, all in all the Quality Inn is just right.

Friendly staff Minuses: Lousy wi-fi, and the area is in a cell-phone hole as well, so you really notice it. But the big complaint was were the incredibly damp and moldy accommodations. Strong smell of mold in our room and to a lesser degree the hallway. Any clothes that we had hanging in the room got damper by the day. As other reviewers have noted, every room needs its own dehumidifier. Carpets should get ripped out and air conditioners checked for mold. This is a health hazard and made our stay much more unpleasant than we expected.

Breakfast was much better than average for a free hotel breakfast. The room was very clean and neat. Beds were fine. Now here was the big problem. The wing we were in was extremely musty to the point I was getting concerned about what I was breathing in. I think the ac unit just added to the problem. Ended up sleeping with the window open......which not everyone would feel comfortable doing. Now when I mentioned it to the staff they did offer me a room a few doors down but that room did not smell a whole lot better.....apparently nothing else was available. Now it had been extremely hot with high humidity the several days before our arrival. The hotel had fans going in the hall which was our first clue there was a problem. The smell of the room was tolerable but just barely. Clearly an on going problem.
