Front staff was rude, ill dressed, failed to have booked rooms available at time of check-in that were clean. I was there for a wedding, had asked for early check-in. While I know that cannot be guaranteed, the front desk staff made accommodations for other guests before me. When I was given a room well past the public check-in time, it was not clean. The duvet clearly had sheets or towels or something bunched up under it. I was now late for the wedding so I had to leave and asked them to make sure I had a clean room by the time I returned. the front desk supervisor argued with me when I came back in the evening and said that the room was clean. It was not. She was unapologetic for any of this experience. Appropriate staffing and housekeeping quality standards are severely lacking. This is a management issue. I have asked for the manager to call me, but she has not done so. This hotel manager is not doing her job. This was a waste of my points. I am completely dissatisfied with the experience and this is a stain on Marriott's reputation. I will, because of this, book my next reservations with Hilton properties. There are other hotels in the area. I will strongly encourage others to use one of those alternatives.

While I appreciate foreign investment in our nation, this is America, not south west Asia-we use 2-ply toilet paper. If you aren't sure, ask the women- get an earful for sure. It's the little touches guys...that's what people remember. Toilet paper should not be a 'penny-wise, pound foolish' decision, as is the usual case in establishments of the BW genre. Overall, they do a reasonably good job. I don't much like the Charlotte area; however, if my affairs bring me back to that area, I will probably re-visit BW Monroe.

There was no drug issues that ppl was saying to expect. I seen no roaches or neither of us was bitten by anything. The only problem I had was someone had to be smoking marijuana above my room because it came through the vents. I loved it and I will come back again. I recommend everyone to give this place a retry. The only real issues we had with our room once we switched was the shower taking about 10 minutes to get fully hot the first time we used it - it must've been a room that doesn't get used frequently - and the floor being dirty. We found a bunch of hair and contact lenses on the living room floor. I'm really glad we found the contacts before my dog ate them. Otherwise, the rooms were spacious, and generally very quiet, we didn't hear a lot of noise from the hallways or adjacent rooms. The beds were super comfy. The AC unit was wonky, either too hot or too cold, but that's typical for hotel rooms. The hotel is in a great area in which we felt perfectly safe walking around my dog late at night. The entire area is very well lit and the property backs up to a large apartment complex so there are usually lots of people around. We really enjoyed walking around the shops and restaurants and large park next to the hotel. we met a lot of people who are all super friendly. There are lots of cleanup stations for dogs, too. The breakfast options were somewhat limited for vegetarians. They changed every day, but we appreciated having fresh fruit, yogurt, and especially the spicy potatoes, those were really delicious! It was also great having coffee and hot water for tea available 24/7. I don't think I'd stay here again because there seems to be a serious issue with housekeeping doing a poor job. There were also large piles of trash bags by the elevator nearly every time we got on/off so the hallways nearby smelled terrible. There are plenty of other hotels within half a mile, so I'd give them a shot instead.
