Had a genuinely great stay at this hotel. Andrew checked us in and was so on top of it. You can tell he is a genuinely nice guy and has a fitting career in hospitality. He seemed truly caring for our experience. I stay in a ton of Choice Hotels (this hotel's line) and this is a good one. I have probably stayed in 25 different locations this year. This is the sketchiest hotel I have ever stayed in. It was even worse than the super eight. We stayed in the night before. And that saying a lot. The carpet was old and needed to be replaced, they had done some remodeling that had not been completed, there were two sinks, but one of them had water dripping out of it onto the floor for a broken pipe, there was no mattress pad on one sheet. It only had a thin fitted sheet on it. The bedspread was stained and dirty. We were in an annex that reminded us of a Third World country. There were windows showing in a basement window well that had sheets or blankets over them. Perhaps had we stayed in the main building it might have been nicer, but this room was very very questionable. They also charged us the same as if we had been in a nice room and extra for two non-shedding small dogs. There was also no grass for them to use for a bathroom. Just weeds. read more

Lets start, as all my reviews do, with the positive. Bed was comfortable, plenty of hot water and water pressure. Air conditioning unit worked well. Oh, and no bed bugs. Now lets move on to everything that was wrong with this place. I this is my third stay here in a year, normally staying a week at a time for work. The first was tolerable, in the back of the main building spring of fall of 2022. February 2023 they couldnt put anybody in the back part of main builing nor in the secondary building because the snow. Most places will use a snow plow, but these folks dont, so entire lot was an ice sheet. Now THIS stay. Was put in the secondary building, and the rooms are a bit bigger, yes, but over the past year the management has really let this place go. Not recognized as a Diamond member at check in, and the manager K.M. complained immediately that she was on her 21st hour of a very long shift because they cant hire anybody. Asked for an extra blanket and they didnt have any so was given two thin covers that they use instead. Immediately notice that the trash on the outside of the building is full, and its a late arrival, 7 pm. Wondered if it had even been emptied that day. I take photos of all my hotel stays upon entering, and did so with this one. Reader, take note of the dates that my phone camera logged on each photo please. Because this is very important as you read this review further. Only two bath towels, ok. But the sink had no plug, and neither did the tub, so dont expect to take a soak in the tub. But I wouldnt have bothered, even if I could since it was obvious the tub hadnt been cleaned in a long time by the dirty ring around it. Thought maybe it was just worn out but a quick scratch with my fingernail showed it was dirty soap scum. The housekeepers? First thing I noticed was that two of them spent more time walking around outside smoking and two others brought their 6 or 7 year old children to work with them. The front door of the building looked like it had spit or something on it and it was never cleaned the entire time I was there. (Five days). The entry way was never swept. There were dozens of dead flies in the window sills of other rooms, quite noticeable when you walked past them. No screen on my room window, which had a board in it to keep it shut securely. They advertised a safe, yep it had one. Unmounted from the wall or floor, so could just walk out with it if one wanted. The breakfast is lacking and they dont restock after about 815, although it is supposed to go until 9. They start removing items and cleaning a full half hour before breakfast is even over. Small yogurt, plastic cup of apple juice, and the waffles, eggs and sausage was there every day norms, when it was stocked. When I checked out I brought up the uncleanliness of the back building as well as telling the manager K.M. that the trash hadnt been emptied fully around the outside of the building since I check in five days earlier. When they did empty it they literally left some of the bags that were surrounding it laying on the ground. The same empty red box of variety pack chips layed on the ground the entire stay. How many times does house keeping walk past it during those five days? I put the trash can from my room outside my door on day three to only have it still there, with old fast food inside it stinking up the area. But here is the kicker, when I mentioned the problems with the overflowing trashes the manager proclaimed 'I call a lie, I have gone back there everyday and the trash hasnt been out at all during that time, the trash has all been emptied'. Of course this upset me, to be called a liar so I tried to show her on my phone the photos. She didnt want to look at them. I was scheduled to return for another 5 days later this month and our lovely manager proceeded to cancel my reservation to be ignorant and spiteful. Not a problem for me, they arent the only hotel game in town. And although they are a little cheaper than some, I used them to save my company money, but when you have a per diem to work with, going down the street to a nicer, cleaner and friendly hotel is easy. If you like filthy, mildew smelling, bare minimum effort from staff at the hotel you stay in, dont mind being called a liar when you bring problems to their attention then this is the place for you. Otherwise, head down the road either way and you will find several other hotels that will give you better service at comparable prices. And yes, I am sure the manager will submit some sort of response here. Just know that an official complaint has been made to Choice Hotels. And I have NEVER made an official complaint in the hundreds of stays I have in hotels for the past several years I've been traveling for work. This hotel is not new, not modern and not fancy. However, if you're a traveler and you need a safe, secure and clean place to stay for the night this hotel fits the bill at a very good price. Excellent value for the money. Friendly greeting, clean, quiet room and reasonable choices for breakfast items in the morning. This is a 2 star property with 5 star value. The only thing about this place that was good was the young lady at the front desk the night I checked in. I had been traveling since 5 am and was tired. Was given a room in the back building and the building is filthy; no locking doors (propped wide open, staircases and hallways hadn't been vacuumed in weeks, room was just as dirty except the beds were made. (Honestly don't believe the bedding was clean). Tables had previous customers greasy food remnants on it. Night stand from was broke off leaving two jagged pieces sticking out, plugs did not work, and toilet water would flow up from floor when you flushed. Went to front desk and poor girl was sympathetic. Called manager who told her she would send maintenance but they never showed(what were they going to do anyway? It wasn't clogged, it was improperly set and not sealed) manager has never once reached out or anything. Back building should be blocked from using until remodeled. The positive reviews can only be from the front building so it must obviously be nicer. The housekeeping door was wide open, no clean linens anywhere but I did grab cleaner to wipe down the tables and bathroom. I had no choice but to stay because everywhere else was booked. Door lock broken, ran out of hot water while taking shower, ice machine broken, general smell of uncleanliness, there's really not much good to say about this dump except, the receptionist was very nice. This place could definitely use some serious maintenance or, maybe a bulldozer. Cheap hotel price and atmosphere. Unless you're strapped for funds find another place to stay. read more

3 stars is a bit of a stretch for this place, but I'm trying to give it a chance- the staff is super friendly. We checked in early and got our keys but never went into the room because we were going to the races at Wyoming Downs. After the races we came back and opened the hotel room door (room 111). We didn't even have to go inside before we noticed the dirty carpet. It hadn't been vacuumed. So my first thought was, "what else is dirty?" So we dropped our bags, and I contacted the desk. The nice woman at the desk contacted two young girls (I'm guessing they were 16 -18 years old), and asked them if they had vacuumed room #111. One girl said yes, that it was the first room she had cleaned. So I said, "um, maybe there was a mistake, but I don't think it has been vacuumed." The woman came to the room to look and she said, "nope, it had not been vacuumed." There was grass and debris throughout the room including on the other side of the bed and near the bathroom. So she made the young girl come and vacuum the room. I told the girl that it gave me pause that there was a dirty floor, and that I wondered about other parts of the room, especially the bed. She assured me that she had changed the sheets, and she said that maybe when I opened the door debris from outside blew in. (There was no wind at the time - the girl was obviously lying- I'm 62 years old- insert eye roll here). But to allow her to save face I actually tipped her 2 dollars and said thanks for her "extra" work. She was probably embarrassed, and I felt sorry for her. I just hope she learned a little lesson about short cuts. The toilet seat was loose and easily fixed with a screwdriver. There was also something on the wall by the phone that appeared to be chocolate... (Gawd I hope that's what it was!). So I took a little piece of toilet paper with water and rubbed it off just to see if it was or wasn't a permanent stain. It wasn't! So it told me that whoever cleaned the room didn't actually clean it- so there you have it- a dirty room- maybe lazy housekeepers taking shortcuts? I dunno, but for $144 you'd think they could do better. C'mon Evanston! read more

Everything was great about my stay, except for the Wi-Fi! It didn't work at all while I was there and the lady at the front desk told me that she didn't know when it would be fixed. There are other great hotels in this area. I recommend staying at one of those places instead. read more

We ended up in Evanston unexpectedly and were pleasantly surprised with the Quality Inn. It was under $100, including taxes, and was very clean. No pool, which was a bummer, and parts of the facility were undergoing renovation, but the room was very nice and the beds were comfortable. There was a fridge & microwave, and the bathroom was clean. The staff was helpful and friendly. read more

On June 25, 2022 at around 2:24 a.m. we checked into this hotel and their was a board under the bed that we kept hitting our leg on because it was sticking about 2" out from the bed. Also, the phone wasn't working or the electricity where the TV plugs into. When we went to check out, I informed the person at the window of our problem and she informed me that she was cancelling the charges. I was tired and noticed that the invoice was zeroed out. So, I took it that she reversed all charges and she asked was I satisfied with that and I was. However, it wasn't until I received my credit card statement it showed she only deducted the taxes. I called, and after a few calls I spoke with April and she informed me to e-mail the manager because she was out on an family emergency that was on August 20, 2022. I never did hear from her. However, I spoke with Mr Patel informed me that the credit would be applied. However, after speaking to Mr Patel, he informed me that I would be receive my credit. I did receive the credit, however, it was only for the taxes. I didn't call back, because so much time had lapsed. If it hadn't been so late, we would have requested another room. I don't feel that it was worth the price I paid and would like to the bill to be adjusted. Mr Patel was very helpful each time I spoke with him. The company failed to respond either to you or the Better Business Bureau to the complaint filed, and so the BBB has closed the complaint. I had photos, however, deleted because I thought I was refunded total amount paid If they are operating with any integrity, they would have responded to my complaint to the BBB. read more

FAKE HOT BREAKFAST!!! we even called making sure there would be a buffet and the person on the line confirmed. this morning we got a brown paper bag with a microwaveable jimmy dean sausage egg cheese. my family doesn't eat red meat so we had just the egg and cheese and biscuit part. the issue was there was no plate to microwave it on safely so we had to try it on the wrapper and watch it so it didn't catch fire. on the up side the rooms were spacious and clean. normally would not make such a big fuss about lack of breakfast but we payed more than this stay was worth for less than 12 hours. we are driving home and it would've been nice to cut down one less stop by having a sustainable breakfast with all the food groups at the hotel. just thankful to have had a safe bed to sleep in last night, glad the rooms weren't too bad! don't quite recommend evanston! read more

Decided to keep driving through the Unitas and stay in Evanston for the hell of it. Got a double queen, non smoking, PET FRIENDLY room for $75! Breakfast was included and has a decent spread including coffees, juices, eggs, bacon, bagels, cereals, breads, muffins, and waffles etc. the dogs were welcomed in the room and the lady said she would only charge us for one dog but didn't end up charging us for either. The room was decently clean, and there were tons of towels, which all came in handy. Not too many good places to let your dog out to do their doo doo but it was sufficient for an overnight stay. We would stay here again, easily! Oh, also the room had a working fridge and microwave, safe and ironing board! read more

Comfortable, clean, and decent value. Would've given 3.5 stars if possible. Convenient location and nice looking motel...for a small off-freeway town. Despite what another review says, this is not a new hotel. It may have been renovated recently but it's an older motel with improvements of walls, flooring, and some amenities. The bed was very comfortable (huge plus), flat screen tv, bathtub (another huge plus), and good breakfast. Overall, this is a good place to stay a night while passing through. read more

Pretty nice place. Room was nice snd fairly clean. The grout around tub was awful...looked like no one and even trued to clean it. Breakfast: loved the pancake maker they have-they were very good. Unfortunately the little round egg disks were old and/or way over cooked. There were only 4 in the pan and the attendant wasn't making anymore until those were gone! Not sure the hot foods were at the safety temperature to keep them safe. read more

We had a nice, quiet stay here. We also were put in Room 101, which is on the end of the hotel next to the breakfast room. So, we didn't have to hear other people. It's close to some restaurants (and an adult store!). Breakfast was OK. No pool, though. read more

We were stuck in a Wyoming snowstorm and needed two rooms. We were relieved to find Quality Inn had rooms when we made it to Evanston. Kimberly and her husband, hotel managers, were so helpful and totally flexible about how long we planned to stay. In fact, after our first night, we learned that I-80 would be closed a second day, so I reserved and paid for a second night. An hour later, the road opened, and Kimberly immediately refunded the full amount on both rooms for that second night. She and her husband were very helpful in suggesting restaurants and providing travel information to all of us staying at the hotel. Overnight, we became a sort of community. The rooms were clean and comfortable, although not fancy (but we didn't care about that!) and very reasonably priced. Great value for the money! And, a wonderful Japanese restaurant, Ichiban's, is right next door. Many other restaurants nearby as well. It's a convenient and friendly resting place if you plan to pass through Evanston. read more

Absolutely terrible. Don't let the "Now Open," sign and pretty updated lobby trick you into thinking it is a new hotel. This hotel seems like it is as old as the 70s. Potential 1970s porn shoot location or potential murder scene. The second I walked into my room, it was EXTREMELY musty/moldy smelling. I sprayed a very strong amount of Frebreeze and a no go....still absolutely disgusting smell. Can't mask it. Everything is incredibly outdated. The locks/doors need updating. Old dented furniture. Sketchy looking microwave lol old as heck. I hope I don't get electrocuted. The bed is okay, comfier than most Quality Inn's, but not the best. I just checked in so I will update this later either positively or negatively. We will see how this pans out. read more

Clean room. Nice bed but very dated. Heater is very hard to control no thermostat either all hot or all cold. Needs new carpet. I could have stayed at a newer room down the street. For less days inn looks nice. One thing about this area is best western has come in strong with new hotels hear and ion coalville utah wish I would have stayed there. read more

Everything about this stay was great. The price, the location, the comfortable bed and pillows, the large room, the friendly staff, and the delicious breakfast! The room was quiet and clean, and it was great to have a fitness center to do a quick morning workout. We were also pleasantly surprised to have hot items- bacon, eggs, and waffles- at breakfast as well as the availability of sugar free syrup, hot sauce, and other condiments and touches that you don't find elsewhere for that price. We would definitely recommend and stay again. read more

If this were a Motel 6 I might give it 2 stars, but it's not--it's a Quality Inn, where you pay more with higher expectations. The place is a complete dive, inside and out. Room has old gum stains on the carpet, black scuff marks all over the walls, a door that doesn't fit the frame, nasty old furniture, and a smell that is unpleasant at best. WTF? read more

Service was terrible, the up keep of the rooms wasn't done in a timely manner. Front desk clerks, 2 managers from what we were told, had attitudes. Then after checking out 2 months later my credit card is being charged. I finally called their corporate office and filed a formal complaint, sent them copies of our checkout receipt. Situation was handled by their corporate office, apparently location is independently owned. But since their name is being used my complaint would be looked into. It was not for a manager to call me, but she did. Rude Rude Rude! I don't recommend it and refuse to do future service with this location! read more

It's one thing for a hotel to be dated or unclean (which this hotel most certainly IS), but it's quite another for it to be DANGEROUS. While I have a number of complaints that can be considered annoyances and disappointments, I'll start with those with respect to occupants' safety: - The clearly marked "Exit" door in the rear building is BOLTED SHUT. The only way to leave the building once you discover this is to re-enter the building and loop around a hallway to the entrance. In the event of fire, this could easily cost people their lives. This is certainly not legal, and appallingly irresponsible. - The toilet in our room was freestanding - not attached to anything. So it wobbled around when you sat on it. What if an elderly person or child were to sit on this and have it fall over? - NO WATER. The vending machine in our building was out of order, and the water in all the other vending machines was sold out. Note that this is in the middle of summer and the temperature that day was approximately 100 degrees. Now for the annoyances: - Check in took a full hour. It was 1am so there were no other people being helped at this time. We were then sent to the wrong room. As a touring band with a ton of heavy gear, and being dead tired after driving all day and arriving at 1am, then lugging all said gear up two flights of stairs, this was super frustrating. - We had three rooms, and I wanted to clarify which room was the one with the king bed. When I started to write "king" on the paper key sleeve with a pen, the front desk clerk became alarmed and said, "NO, PENCIL! PENCIL!" She seemed afraid as if she was going to get in huge trouble, which makes me wonder about the owner. Apparently this is because they are told to re-use the sleeves by erasing prior occupants' room numbers and rewriting over it. While I am all for recycling, I didn't see any other measures towards environmental conservation around the hotel, so the impression I got was that this is to cut costs. This leaves me to wonder what other corners they are cutting (many of which are obvious, as indicated in this review). - The floors in the back building are disgusting. - The air conditioning had obviously been off all day when we arrived in our room - note again that it was 100 degrees that day, and they knew we were coming. We'd even called ahead. - Non-functioning outlets in the room - Breakfast over at 9am. Really? Safety concerns aside, these things would be expected perhaps in a $40/night room. But we paid close to $100 for one of our double rooms. Completely unacceptable. I will say that the woman who checked us in was very sweet. I hesitate to write this review as I do not want her to get in trouble. Frankly, her personality was the only good thing about the hotel. So I'd like it to be noted that the problems with this hotel are clearly the responsibility of the OWNER. read more

Service makes all the difference in the world. The General Manager Lorie and her staff are warm and friendly and treat you like guests in their home. The beds were clean and comfortable, the breakfast was hot and delicious. The bathrooms were spotless. There was a maintenance note I gave to them about the handicapped parking. The paint on the space needs to be repainted as someone parked there probably not realizing it was a handicapped spot, made it more difficult to get into the handicapped accessible room. read more

Not the worst hotel my family has stayed in, but that's not sayin much, we had pets so we were sent to a separate building, the looks outside were awful, we thought it would be much better. Walking in the entrance was gross, but once we got in the room, it wasn't all that bad. Our TV was all fuzzy. We need another pet friendly hotel on our way back, definitely won't be this one. Again, not the worst but sadly probably the best in this town, so we will probably stay in another town on our way back. read more

Have stayed here 2 times while going across country this summer. The first time we were placed in an upstairs room that was inside the building and it was ok--carpet not very clean and bed just ok. The last time we were put in the back section which has doors that open to the outside. Room was musty, carpet soiled, dark, and the air conditioner sounded like a washing machine. The bathroom seemed clean and the bed was comfortable. Would not stay here again. read more
