Didn't get a good nights sleep. The beds were not good.Both beds squeaked which I've never experienced before. I could feel the springs in the middle of the 1st queen bed in room 105. Also the pillows are square and smaller than normal hotel pillows which was not comfortable at all. I will say though the staff is super nice, professional and very friendly and the free breakfast is substantial and very varied for whatever floats your boat. I would rate this low B- / high C+ ish. read more

The room was clean and the area was quiet. Some things that I didn't care for was the outlets on the lamps shut off when you turned off the lamps. You could not charge your phone or devices while you sleep. The ice machine on our floor was out of order, the pool was closed, the soda machines did not take card and took nothing larger then $1 bill and kept spiting out the coins we put in. Real bang for the buck! Much more than you'd expect for the price. Rooms were clean, mattress extremely firm, linens were top notch with a real comforter.. Not perfect by any means, but I believe a good night's sleep could be guaranteed. Building shares a parking lot with a little casino/otb/bar that serves food. read more

Stopped here on a coast to coast road trip. Picked this hotel for price. Pros: Clean, warm room with refrigerator and microwave. Easy access to parking. Pleasant staff. Good breakfast: hot eggs/sausage, biscuits and gravy, bagels/toast, waffles, fruit, oatmeal, coffee/juice! Cons: I like REALLY hot water for a bath. This water was hot but my hot. Plugs for the phone chargers did not work in Room 133. Thankful for a warm place to sleep on the road. Thankful for the folks who work there. Recommend. read more

I booked on line and then decided to cancel. I did so on booking.com and received an email stating that the booking was cancelled, I would be charged nothing, and I had to do nothing more. I did not go to the hotel but they got by bank card info from booking.com and charged me the full price for the room. They have since refused to give me a refund. read more

Just passing through and needed a pet friendly hotel and this one was the most convenient one. The front desk staff were friendly and nice. We get to our room and it seems nice upon entering but the more you settle in the more you see. There are holes in the sheets, chips out of the bathtubs and that it leaks all over the floor, sinking brown stained bathroom ceiling, dirty grimy walls and curtains. Over all kinda grimy they need to work on their attention to the smaller details instead of just new furniture. read more

I feel sorry for the recent reviews; I always sort by price when I book (I'm not rich by any means, nor do I want to splurge... Yet), and this was the best bang for my buck ever! The room feels new and trendy (those pics you see AREN'T fake stock images; my room actually looked like it), the bed was comfy, the front desk staff was friendly, and the breakfast had a great variety of food! All hotels should aspire to be like this! The only thing was that the parking lot could stand to be a bit better plowed; there was a fairly thick layer of ice when I checked in. read more

I saw online the rate was around $70 but when I came in they tried to charge over $100. When I told him I would just book online he took it down to the proper price. I booked this online during our travels back home. Reasonably priced and easy to find right off the highway. It is near a huge mall and lots of food places for every taste. My grandson and I checked out the indoor pool which was very cool, kind of reminded me of the winding slow river rides at the water parks. There was also a large whirlpool tub next to the pool. The beds and pillows were super comfy. The place was quiet at night and offers 24-hour coffee. We didn't stay for the breakfast but when I ran in to fill my coffee mug I saw there were DIY waffle and pancake stations. Now the bad news: The carpet had some stains and what appeared to be a smashed poop between the beds The sheer drape had what appeared to be blood on it. This is why I didn't rate this hotel 5 stars. read more

Traveling during covid 19 is scary enough. But when we arrived to Comfort inn our room was disgusting. Blood on the pillow. Buggers on the bedding. Trash under the bed dirty sheets. It was Obvious that they had not cleaned our room. So the employee was nice enough to apologize and move us to a new room that "had been cleaned". Obviously I'm a little skeptic so I wanna see if it's clean. Start looking around. Wow a cellphone a kids toy dirty streaks in tub. So upset I figured almost $100.00 would get me a decent room. I booked it through Priceline and the rep was actually very helpful in assuring I can get a refund. So I left promptly. Thank goodness we found a best western right down the street. read more

The air didn't work and that made for a long miserable night. We would have opened the window to help but there was no screen so since we didn't want bugs to get in we melted all night long. They were mopping the lobby so that was good to see them cleaning. It was a bit run down, torn carpet, missing pictures, holes in the tub and broken light switches that kind of thing. We could have overlooked all that if not for the awful hot night. We got no sleep and my children were sweaty and grouchy as well. read more

I was unable to complete my stay with comfort inn unfortunately. However, I'm a wildland firefighter on a hand crew. And when we were called to a new fire after checking in. They not only didn't charge us, but the manager volunteered to drive one of my crew members home due to a family emergency. The customer service here is unparalleled, these people will go above and beyond. I hope we get to stay here eventually! read more

Thought that the Comfort Inn would be a nice place, we have stayed in a few and they always have been clean, our room was clean and tidy and the bed was comfortable but we were surprised at the things that were broken or not working in room 102, first the toilet seat was broken right in the center middle and pinched my wife's butt everytime she sat down and I'm the only one that can do that and seemed to be loose not to mention that it is very low to the floor, like it was a toilet for kindergarteners, the hair dryer was broken and the fan in the bathroom was very loud,very loud!. And the trash, cigarette butts and the weeds at the side door were not a pretty sight, you cut the grass that can be seen by the highway, pay your gardeners a couple dollars more and clean your property. read more

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL... unless you enjoy not being able to get into your room. Kind of defeats the purpose of having a hotel room. We stayed in Evanston for a softball tournament and got back to our room late only to find our key wouldn't work. To make matters worse there was not a single employee on site. We couldn't get into our room that had all of our belongings in it. We tried calling the guest relations # for the hotel and they didn't even have any personal contact info for the manager. This was the most ridiculous experience I have ever had with a hotel. I didn't even get a call or anything from the manager or anyone from choice hotels. When I looked Evanston Comfort Inn up on line to reserve a room for two there was no mention of the fact that hotel is undergoing a lot of renovations. The parking lot was my first clue as we arrived from the first long day of a cross country trip. Most of the parking was closed off and the rest torn up. We parked in a restaurant lot adjacent to the hotel parking. We checked in and again no mention of the hotel undergoing renovations. The hallways had temporary matting down as all the carpeting and baseboards were removed with the tack strips still visible along the sides. The room was ok at first glance but then we noticed the bathroom door was half off it's hinges. The carpet was dirty, noticed when I dared to walk barefoot in the room, and then had to wash the "dirt" film off the soles of my feet. I wanted to use the coffee maker in the room at 5AM and found parts of it missing so no morning coffee. My son wanted to use the exercise room but the equipment was not in working order. The pool was empty and under "renovation". It would have been better if we had known of the renovations ahead of time so we could have booked another hotel. Understanding that hotels do have to renovate occasionally, it would also have been better to let us know when reserving and maybe offering discounted rates so we could make an educated decision. I would have said something to the front desk but we were heading out at 5:30 and no one was at the desk at that moment. One positive note is that the sheets were clean. read more

So gross. We walked into our first room to find the light and tv on and the odor of fresh marijuana-- like not yet smoked weed. There was an empty bud light in the trash and someone's hat. The key cards from the previous people were on the table. It was like someone checked in, made a drug deal and left. Our second room hit us in the face with stale cigarette smoke and the lights didn't work. The guy at the front desk told us to wait while he fixed it but we declined. Our THIRD room was an "upgraded suite" which was really just a larger room with a counter blocked by a couch. The pillows smelled like men's cologne. Gross. Not worth it. Don't do it. Room was adequate but is dated and shows wear. For instance they used a light brown tinted epoxy to fix cracks on white toilet seat and tub which upon first seeing makes you question the cleanliness of it and the tub faucet pulls away from the wall. Despite its age and minor things it was located in a convenient place to quickly get off the freeway for the night, it was quiet and had an average breakfast so I'd give it 3 stars. read more

Nice room, good bed. Told the clerk we'd be leaving around 4 am, so we'd like a room with no one above us so we could sleep. She said she could accommodate that with no problem since she had only 8 out of the more than 30 rooms booked and would make sure no one was placed above us. Later, when we left for dinner, I noticed that there were guests in most of the rooms on our wing. Then just as we were ready to sleep it's all noise in the room above us. I could even hear them cough, brushing their teeth, and turning the light switch on/off. It appears they crammed all the guests into one side of the hotel instead of spacing everyone out. Such a shame. I handle corporate travel bookings, and this was a business stay. I would definitely choose a different hotel next time the company travels through Evanston, but will continue to stay at Comfort Inn again. This was completely not worth the money since we paid them to actually get some sleep. read more

Got here last night around 11 or so and left around 6:30 this morning. Nothing to complain about except for the lights in the parking lot shining brightly through the window but the shades did an okay job of blocking it out. The floor was also filthy.. gross. The room itself was very clean and darn near looked like a suite!! Great price too for only $77 and change. But, the heater didn't work. Evanston is in some pretty high elevations, so it was chilly outside and gettin' chilly in the room too. I went to the east Indian guy @ the front desk who looked like he just got up or was strung out on something. When I told him the heater didn't work, he asked me, "Are you sure?" as if I was making up a story. In his defense, he did try to fix it, but to no avail, and then he let me use a portable plug in heater which actually worked pretty good!! The only other thing was that the toilet seat was loose, and I don't like surprises when I'm "pinchin' a loaf". Other than those things, I'd stay here again. I can't believe someone felt this was decent for the money... If they had paid me to stay here, maybe. We stayed here while driving cross country with our two cats. They did accommodate the cats, so that is a plus. Although unlike La Quinta, they charged us $20 (the most expensive charge we paid on our trip). The plus (only one) - the woman who checked us in moved rooms around to so we wouldn't have to walk up the stairs with cats, litter box and all our belongings (lots - we were driving cross-country, and had to pack enough until we bought a house & got stuff our of storage). She was a sweetheart! The negatives... needs updating badly inside, I wouldn't walk around barefoot on the rugs or bathroom. Thin walls, heard every noise in the place. And - worst of all - when I pulled down the sheets on one of the beds, there were hairs on the sheet from the previous occupant. I found five, which is pretty gross. It was late at night, so we slept in the other bed, but that is pretty inexcusable. read more

This is a few months overdue as I could not get logged into my old Yelp. The front desk worker was lovely and very helpful! However, the room was horrible. At first glance, it was nice! Then, the bathroom door handle fell off from barely being touched, the bathroom ceiling was sagging from water, the shower head keep falling off and spraying everywhere mid shower, the floor left black on my feet, and pipes were exposed all over the room which I wouldn't have normally minded had we not had a child with us. Next morning, on the road again, I realized I left my watch behind in hotel room. I called Comfort Inn Fenley. Housekeeper had a already turned my watch in to front desk. Fantastic hotel. I arrived late, stayed in a business suite. The room was VERY well designed, bed was very comfortable, furniture beautiful, shower was awesome, towels soft. I was also so grateful for their kindness and impeccable customer service, the took care of my every need.
